Topic: Unable to change link template

Hi,

I can’t seem to change link template on my packages when changing “Link Template” in “Package Settings”. I’ve tried changing to both preset link templates and ones I’ve created myself. Changing Page Template works fine. All that shows is the table with the “File Title” and download button, which I suppose is the default.

I’m new to wpdm, but an experienced WordPress developer. I develop on localhost, and use a custom theme.

Thanks for replying, Shaon. Amazing work you’ve done on this plugin, I’ve been using the free version for a long time and just upgraded.

[download_link_extended] looks much better for this, thank you. The facebook option is still acting odd but I will likely get the share add-on in time.

2nd: Both actually, is there a way to edit the CSS for both Email Lock opt-in form and the newsletter email?

Please try using [download_link_extended] instead from [download_link] in your link/page template ( Docs: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/ ).

For 2nd option, are you taking about the email lock feature or about the newsletter add-on?

2. Go to Admin Menu Appearance Theme Options Homepage Settings Tab Select Homepage Slider Category
3. For homepage right sidebar user “Homepage Right” widget area
4. Linked in lock is not working because if their api change, however it will be available again from next update of the plugin
5. For appshop, theme there is nothing complex to configure, just homepage slider and 1 categories select from homepage settings tab, upload logo and change color scheme from general settings tab, that all.

However, if you want me to set it up there in your site, please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply.

Hi There,

Just bought today the Pro version and the App Shop Theme.
Now I am not able to find it out how I can make it like you have the demo “Apps Shop” theme.

1.) I want to have the categories listed on the blue line, but have no idea how to do that…
2.) I want to show the slider, but have no idea how to do that and how to set up…
3.) I want to show the right pane widgets, but none of the widgets are showing, why?
4.) I bought the Download Manager Pro especially that there is a LinkedIn STOP possibility for a download…
However it does nothing 🙁 Not showing anything when clicking on the Download button… For the rest: Twitter, etc. it works…
5.) Do you have a full documentation about how to set up Download Manager Pro as per the App Shop Style?

Hide everything option only hide descriptions and download link, but titles are totally depends on your theme. As you are using custom access level you can use short-code [wpdm_my_downloads login=1] to create dedicated page for use downloads.

Hi Shaon,

My links are expiring, and i believe it is by design from dropbox. From the drop box site https://www.dropbox.com/developers/dropins/chooser/js

Link types

The Chooser can be configured to return one of two link types.

preview links are the default type of link returned by the Chooser. Preview links point to a human-friendly preview page of a file and are great for sharing. You can read more about links to Dropbox files in our Help Center. Note that users may disable this link at a later point if they choose.
direct links point directly to the contents of the file and are useful for downloading the file itself. Unlike preview links, however, they will expire after four hours, so make sure to download the contents of the file immediately after the file is chosen. Direct links also support CORS, which allows you to read the file information directly in the browser using client-side JavaScript. These URLs should not be used to display content directly in the browser.

I changed your code to instead use preview and modified the URL dropbox is returning to use dl=1 instead of dl=0 and my download links no longer expire from dropbox.

Could we have the option to use either preview or direct in the next release perhaps? This may be new functionality from dropbox.

Yes, that is easy, simply clone the link template from Downloads Templates Link Templates tab, that you used there, replace [page_link] with [title], save it an a new template, and now use the new template with your short-code.

#1 yes pro version has the feature.
#2 yes download link will be sent to e-mail address or you also can select the option to enable instant download after they enter their email address.

Hi,

I have installed free version of Download Manager. Then I downloaded TinyMCE button plugin & activated, then I purchased Mail-Chimp plugin, installed, activated and linked with Mailchimp account.

Then I purchased Download Manager Pro. Then I was not careful enough to read installation notes, so I havn’t removed free version, but just tried to install DM Pro. This installation failed of course. Now whatever I click on my Admin dashboard I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_wdm_settings_tab() in C:\xampp1\htdocs\wpsite\wp-content\plugins\wpdm-mailchimp\mailchimp.php on line 40

WP is 4.1.1. and I’m running on localhost !

Prompt help is appreciated !

When I click icon Download Manager on TinyMCE icon, sometimes I forget to select the Link Template. But the auto he will determine the “Default Template”. How do I change the default options into the Default Template w / Icon?.

Hi,

I have created several packages whose files are stored in drop box. When users try to download from wordpress, they are presented with a 401 error that says “Error (401)
It seems you don’t belong here! Check out our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home. ”

Is there an expiration on the dropbox links or a different setting i need to set in order to have these links not expire? I have looked on the dropbox site and can’t find anything. Though others may have seen this issue.

I’ve tested the url http://dearestdebi.com/debis-easter-weekend-mystery-fun from all browsers and everywhere got it working. As the download link here is plugin, it never should expire, Also here https://www.facebook.com/dearestdebi/photos/a.228126997212785.83253.227946347230850/1126401070718702/?type=1&theater no one said it expiring. I also tested from iPhone 6 and Android Tab ( ES File Manager & Adobe PDF Reader installed ) , everywhere it worked fine.

I tried downloading with google chrome and I was able to fetch the link from the download window by right clicking and copy the link, so I get that any subscriber can do that, how to fix this ?

popup is not working because of some js conflict. However I removed the popup and embed the option ( using [download_link_extended] ) and it is working fine now.

I can not start downloading file, I logged in as administrator level.

It return “This webpage is not available”, so I’m not sure where is the error come from.

* I try to get full path of the downloading file to make sure that it point to the correct path, but I found only api that return a file name.

Topic: WPDM with Form – Where are Subscribers?

I’m using WPDM with the Form before Download add-on. I like the plugin and the process, but I want the subscribers to go directly to my Customer Relationship Manager software instead of being stored in the subscribers area. I need to know what’s happening with the information from the form. Is it emailing, or storing in the database? If it is in the database. what is the table? I can handle the programming from there.

Also, is there a way to use the Form before download and emial lock? Ideally I’d like them to get an email with a link after filling out the form, rather than get the download directly. That way I can confirm the email as real.

After updating to the new version of Download Manager Pro, the thumbnails on my main download page (http://postpartumprogress.org/tools/) are no longer working. There should be a thumbnail photo of each downloadable to the left of the subscriber area — there used to be — but the photos disappeared and now there are only links.
