Please use the template editor from Downloads Templates page to create a custom template. Those will be visible in template selection drop-down.

Using [download_link] template tag in your custom template you can directly download/open a file without visiting the details page. There are lots of built-in link templates which already has this feature. These built-in templates link the title to the details page and there is another link with Download text to directly download/open the file.

If you want you can remove the details page link from the title.

There is widget available to show the files on the sidebar. Also, you can include the pdf package into any post using package shortcode and link template. Details here.

If you want to open the pdf on the browser you have to change the settings from Downloads Settings file download section and enable open in browser.

Also please specify the template you need, if you only need the package name and download button you can create a new page template from Downloads Templates page template section with the available template variables. You can find more here.

And [download_link] will show download button if you use it with the template.

Please add the following code after line no 250,

$download_link = 'Download';

In WPDM settings you have to check the Open file in the browser option. I have used plain text Download instead of a button. You can replace it with a button if you want.

1 ) Yes, you can open/download a file without visiting the details page. You have to modify the link template you are using there. Replace [page_link] tag with <a href="[download_url]">[title]</a> to open the file when clicking the title. Please send temporary wp-admin login info in private reply if you want me to set up an example package.

You need Pro version if you want to create a custom template. But free version has some built-in templates too. Please use TinyMCE add-on ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ ) to insert the shortcode. It will show available link templates.

You can modify the page template from Downloads Templates to edit the download page. The add to cart button is showing with the [download_link] template code. As the package is not free. it is showing Add to cart button.

Subscribe link is working now. Currently, WP Pro Membership can detect the plans page when this version [wpmp-membership-plans] of shortcode is used. Although both generates same plans. I have updated the plans shortcode and the link is working on package details page.

Btw, you can use customized message now from WP Pro Membership settings. Now all of the options are set to a Download text which is linked to the plans page.

I’ve tested with chrome and not found the download link, seems like there is a problem with the template. Please provide admin login info to check.
