First install the version 4.1.8 and I could not add downloads. I updated to version 4.1.9 and neither can add downloads.

The zip file for 4.19 Pro doesn’t download in my profile options, instead it downloads like it is the normal free version. It also installs like it is the free version.. I did pay for the year back in November, so am not sure why it’s reverting me back to the free version.

It’s still not working for me.
I tried typing the word “office” in the search box, pressed Enter on my keyboard, and the result is “No download found!” See this image for what happens.
There are lots of packages with the word “office” in them. I paged through all the downloads on the page to get to some packages that had the word “office” in their title to show you. Here’s a screen capture.
Does the search box search the title field of the packages? If not, what does it search?

This is from The Event Calendar support. We’re stuck between two plugin developers saying it’s the other guy’s issue. We really need help here.

I just tested with the WordPress Download Manager plugin and was able to recreate the issue where uploaded files are not saving as attached to downloads when creating new downloads while The Events Calendar plugin is active.
To be honest, I’m not sure this is something that we would be able to address within our plugin. The download and and associated meta should be contained completely within post type created for the download manager plugin and shouldn’t directly interact with the Events Calendar events when saving.
Let us know what you hear back from the other forum. If there is something we’re doing that goes against WordPress best practices that is somehow causing the issue, we’re definitely more than willing to look into a solution.
Topic: listing of files with tags

I just purchased the pro version of the plugin, and installed the free addons
I set up a listing page of my files, using the shortcode [wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=20]
I’m using tags and instead of having the created date of the file, I want to show the tag associated with the file.
I suppose I have to make changes in the wpdm-all-downloads.php file, but I can not figure out exactly what I have to change. Either the tag is not showing or I crash the page 🙂

I suddenly can’t add new downloads. The icon is in my editor and it opens fine but when I click on the file tree it won’t open up the folder with the files to select. It will open to show any subfolders, but not files.
I’ve tried disabling all plugins and it doesn’t fix it.

– Is it possible to remove the /download/ of the URLTrying out Free before I go to Pro. Seems to be an issue though with larger download (7Mb) not showing the ‘download’ link on the button. Other downloads smaller are okay.
Is this a limitation of Free version of wpdm?

I have two sites both completely separate from each other but part of a multi-site setup. I have installed the plugin and it is working on both sites. I now want to have one page on each site which will show just all of the downloads available from that site, and not the other. So site A just has A downloads, and site B just has B downloads.
I have tried in a test posting using this
[wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=20]but it shows *all* the downloads for both sites. How can I get it to just use the downloads for site A please?In reply to: Page of *all* downloads for that site?
It is on a test page which is never published, just used for trial purposes. Its url is sharons test page, but this is what I’ve tried

I have two sites both running this plugin, and all the data goes into one databank/data-table, but I just want some of them to show, not to show the downloads of the other site.you need to follow the following steps after you update to v2.7 from v2.6:
- Go to Admin Menu Downloads Settings Migrate tab
- You will see all files you created with v2.6
- Now select around 20-30 files at a time
- And click “Save Settings” button
- Continue the process for all of the files there
- So you have migrated all data from v2.6 to v2.7
- Sorry about the trouble, but now you need to re-assign categories to packages
- Download and install Advanced TinyMce Button Add-on
- You can use the add-on to generate short-codes
- As you know, now you can get more free add-ons from here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/free-add-ons/
I have the plugin working on two sites in a ‘multi-site’ setup. I want to have a page of all downloads for that site alone and leaving out the others from the other site. But I can’t work out, nor see in the documentation, how to do it.
Site 2 will only have site 2 downloads in, and
site 3 will only have site 3 downloads in.But how can I do it please?

My client is unable to download the PDF files from the following website, only from INTERNET EXPLORER. It creates an error “cannot download file”. The downloads work normally in Chrome, Safari and firefox. It’s just IE.

I am considering getting the pro version if it helps me achieve to attain the functionality required below:
-From the home page I want click on a resources page which displays all the categories top level (i.e. Music (5), Misc (3)) in WP Download Manager. (Am unable to do this with free version) How can I do this?
-Once you click on the category, it will go to the next level i.e. show music downloads.
For the display of the category downloads which some may not have files attached and no download button, can I display something likeFilename, Description of File, Download button? (Can also click within to go into file info)
Just wondering how I can do this.

I have a website with many downloads http://www.actin-spain.com/downloads
No matter what I do/change the downloads are all corrupt and cannot be opened. I have tried reattaching the files to the package, the files are perfectly ok when downloaded via ftp. I have tried creating new shortcodes which is a pain as there are so many. I have deactivated nextgen gallery, but still the downloads are corrupted. Can you please help as this is causing many problems with the users.

Hi Shaon,
I’m not sure you are understanding my issue.
I know I can restrict access based upon user groups (i.e. Admin, Editor, etc.) but the only group that is applicable is Customer (as we are using WooCommerce to manage 12 month memberships). However, once the 12 month membership expires, they would still be part of the Customer group and therefore still be able to access the individual download pages.
All I need is the ability to either stop the individual download pages being generated or apply the ability to restrict access to the page itself while still allowing access to the downloads on the custom pages I create for each category.
Sadly it’s not viable to undo all the setup and move over to a different membership system.

From version 2.7.* Download Manager Free moved to custom post type for better performance and security issue. After you upgrade to version 2.7.*, you need to migrate your old versions’ data. To migrate your old version data to new version, goto Admin Menu Downloads Settings Migrate Tab of your WordPress admin panel. Follow the instructions written their.
Things to remember:
1. You need to manually re-assign download icon for every post from Admin Menu Downloads All Files2. You need to reassign categories for each files manually.
3. Existing Category ShortCode will not work, you need to change all category ShortCode manually. However, you can install Advanced TinyMCE button AddOns for free to easily place shortcode in a page or post.
4. You can install Free AddOns to extend functionality for Download Manager.
*If you don’t want to do update to the latest version, you can still use Download Manager Version 2.6.96

2. Basically I want visitors to see the package arranged by Create Date by default instead of by Title when they open my Download page.

I also found out that Create Date has sorting problem
(refer Sort by Date screenshot above)This might be a problem with jstable read date format because jstable=0 solved it. But we’ll lose the search/sorting functionality.

I like how data-table shortcode presents itself; neat and simple.
But I got some problems:1. Pages not working
I’m using this shortcode:

with 45 packages available
Extended plugin is activatedBut the Download page only shows 10 downloads and that’s all. Prev/Next button below doesnt work at all.
I can increase the limit to 50 to show them all, but this is seriously a problem.
I dont want my page to be scrolling far below when I have 1000 packages.2. How do I set Created Date as default view?
