Hey Shaon,

I’ve tried for 2 days now to get my downloads to display in a simple grid. I currently have 4 downloads but they will only list in a vertical stack, something like the Metro template 3 wide by however many down would be great.

I’ve cloned link templates, tried different shortcodes all without success.

Hi,

I have browsed through almost every page of the docs, but I am still very confused and have no clue how to create a simple all downloads page as shown at http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/all-downloads/

and this one:

I’ve just bought the WPDM Pro and the Email Notification add-on.

Just a quick suggestion for you, maybe in your member-download area you could provide a documentation in PDF where we can download.
Also please include some explanation of how WPDM actually work, for instance, what is a package, category, and then the actual downloadable files and stuff like that, otherwise your customers like me will get lost in the space, trust me on this one.

Anyway, if you could please outline a step-by-step guide or perhaps direct me to download a specific template-ready file to enable those 2 ‘all downloads’ and ‘accordion’ pages, that will save me heaps of hours.

Well, this does not look like the Crypton theme. I actually wanted to have it exactly like on the page.

Thanks for fixing the setting, I assume this will be fixed in a future release?

I have tried the combination of settings of both enabled and disapable, the downloads still fail after a few hundred MB.
This used to work, my ISP says the problem is not theirs. When I move the large file to an open folder with a direct URL to download, this works correctly. It is only through WPDM that it fails while downloading.

Another issue is that it no longer shows the size of the download so it cannot estimate how long the download will take. It says ‘unknown size’.

The previous version worked without having another app to generate a short-code, I don’t understand why I need to install another app and generate short-codes.

This upgrade is feeling very much like a downgrade at the moment.

Hi,

I’m trying to find the “download preview” plug=in. I go to the page where I suspect it is supposed to be does not look like it’s there for download. Can you tell me where I could find the download preview install file for workpress? Or is this something that requires an additional purchase?

I thought I should be able to find it at this location but it does not seem to be there:

http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-category/free-downloads/ is coming from theme actually, but if you select link template “3 Columns, Detailed”

No, the above did not solve the problem. It created an error, which led the wordpress to deactivate the plugin and hence the error message vanished. I noticed this later.

With respect to the enabling session_start function at the server level, I have checked with the godaddy server team. They say that they have not disabled any such function. In this regard, may I add that the session would be required for old version i.e., 2.6.x. If I install old version of DM, the website works fine. The problem is with the new version of DM only. So I think, session_start function would not be the reason behind the problem.

Coming back to the problem, after installing the latest version of DM, the additional information (other than the error messages which appear on the face of website) I want to share is that the welcome page says…

Looks like you were using v2.6 earlier and there are some data already, anyhow you can migrate those data to 2.7 from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Migrate Tab
You also can get back to v2.6. To do that, delete current installation of v2.7, Download v2.6.96 and install.

When I go the the migration tab, the status for all packages is shown as migrated.

Also can you explain the process of exporting downloads from the old version of the plug in to another old version of the plug in on a different server please. How is this best done to ensure that all files make it across?

I have done an SQL dump and then a find and replace to change domain names, then imported the SQL locally, but some packages are missing files. In that the domain they came from had more files in the packages than my local version. The number of packages was correct though.

I applied the 4.2 update late yesterday and noticed this morning that all of the pages where I am outputting category lists of files via a shortcode (and also using a custom link template) are generating the following error:

This was working before the 4.2 update — here’s a sample page where you can see the output:

High Performance

Two other things I noticed:

– It generates the same error when I attempt to preview my link template. The code for my link template is substantially similar to the example shown in the documentation.

– Also, after reading some of the other support posts, I tried to disable the Output Buffering and Resumable Downloads functionality in case that would make a difference. However, it doesn’t seem to stick because if I navigate away from the settings page and come back, these are both enabled even if I just disabled them a few minutes ago… Help!

I have created a custom link and page template that I would like to use. I have about 50 downloads. Is it possible to change all of these at once?

Also is it possible to change the the defualt templates to my custom ones? So that way going forward I do not have to select a new one each time.

Hello, just bought pro version, but I don’t understand how to get things done.

What I need:
1. Simple file list: File name is link, a click downloads it.
2. Simple file list with password protection: File name is link, a click asks for password, after entering passwort download starts.

There a tons of settings, but I can’t find the settings for this simple application.

below the link to download there are next and previous buttons, which lead to other download pages, I want to hide that because this way subscribers are able to download other stuff,

I want to hide it and not just make categories, because even in the same category I want to hide downloads because I am manually making download pages for each subscriber

I cannot now change any of the settings as the pages do not load, or my templates pages (see attached).

Furthermore, I’ve had problems with people playing and downloading MP3s on iPhones and iPads. Now they do not play on computers at all.

Hi there, I have also just downloaded the API plugin and I saw where I’m to generate a API Key and enable, “Send Push Notification when someone downloads” but where does this go? How does it work? I have been unable to find any documentation for your API whatsoever.

Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish:

When a visitor completes a download form (email lock), I need to send the form submission (probably by Webhook and custom script, unless you have a function call I may hook into) to my marketing automation system (www.GetRainmaker.com).

Please advise how best to accomplish this. Thanks!

I just updated to version 4.2. When I re-installed the plugin i was no longer able to download files. I set the downloads up with an email lock. Can you take a look?

Everything works great on the download UNTIL I allow individual file downloads. Then I seem to get an error:

Warning: mcrypt_decrypt(): The IV parameter must be as long as the blocksize in /home/faith835/public_html/ignitethehype.com/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/libs/class.WPDM_Crypt.php on line 51

And despite it just being a warning. Everything does halt and the download does not happen.

It is currently under ‘password lock’. I’ve disabled the feature on my website at present but would love to have that feature working again. Thoughts suggestions?

Misbehave? I’m sorry but there is clearly a language barrier here as you don’t seem to understand my point and are viewing things the wrong way. I didn’t come here to cause trouble, it’s not in me to do so. I have already complemented your work, so I fail to understand how I am misbehaving?

As for your reply with feature requests. I requested a feature over 2 years ago and nothing was done about it. I am not waiting another 2 years!

I am going to buy the WPDM Default Addon as I am tired of trying to make you understand me. Yes the plugin will save me time, which I will be grateful for.

Buying Lazy Downloads was a mistake, human error, it happens. I was hoping for some understanding. I have already paid over $170 for your products ($190+ after I buy WPDM Default Value), all I have asked was some help in an exchange which would save me some money, that was all.

for showing similar download, you need to use [similar_downloads] tag in page template, to list all categories, you will need this short-code http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/

I still have the same issue with individual downloads, I deactivated all the plugins, but still..nothing

about the support, I never saw support like you, from what I know there should be an EMAIL to send my problem on, not just a forum !!

and about the no real fixes, because actually nothing has been fixed till now, and about harming my business because I already have clients waiting for their download links and didn’t get them yet, because of your delay to answer !!

Topic: Media is gone after support access

After giving access to support to help ensure he download manager was working properly my media has disappeared. There is no Media tab on the admin. page and no media upload option on the post pages. I cannot add a feature image to my downloads either. I have deactivated, and activated all the plug ins as instructed by the WordPress.org but still, the media is gone. Since this happened after support had access to my page I can only conclude it was wiped out in error during the process. Please help me get this back.

Attached is a screen shot of my admin. menu, Media used to be the 3rd one down. It’s nowhere now.

The developers of The Events Calendar are attempting to contact you to work through a fix. I hope you all can figure it out soon, we’re going to have to abandon your plugin if it can’t be fixed and we’ve got a lot of downloads in there, and it’s a great plugin!

Downloads seems the be there in the backend, but the front end show nothing. No download button, no listing.
