Misbehave? I’m sorry but there is clearly a language barrier here as you don’t seem to understand my point and are viewing things the wrong way. I didn’t come here to cause trouble, it’s not in me to do so. I have already complemented your work, so I fail to understand how I am misbehaving?
As for your reply with feature requests. I requested a feature over 2 years ago and nothing was done about it. I am not waiting another 2 years!
I am going to buy the WPDM Default Addon as I am tired of trying to make you understand me. Yes the plugin will save me time, which I will be grateful for.
Buying Lazy Downloads was a mistake, human error, it happens. I was hoping for some understanding. I have already paid over $170 for your products ($190+ after I buy WPDM Default Value), all I have asked was some help in an exchange which would save me some money, that was all.
Kind regards
for showing similar download, you need to use [similar_downloads]
tag in page template, to list all categories, you will need this short-code http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/
I still have the same issue with individual downloads, I deactivated all the plugins, but still..nothing
about the support, I never saw support like you, from what I know there should be an EMAIL to send my problem on, not just a forum !!
and about the no real fixes, because actually nothing has been fixed till now, and about harming my business because I already have clients waiting for their download links and didn’t get them yet, because of your delay to answer !!
After giving access to support to help ensure he download manager was working properly my media has disappeared. There is no Media tab on the admin. page and no media upload option on the post pages. I cannot add a feature image to my downloads either. I have deactivated, and activated all the plug ins as instructed by the WordPress.org but still, the media is gone. Since this happened after support had access to my page I can only conclude it was wiped out in error during the process. Please help me get this back.
Attached is a screen shot of my admin. menu, Media used to be the 3rd one down. It’s nowhere now.
Hi Shaon,
The developers of The Events Calendar are attempting to contact you to work through a fix. I hope you all can figure it out soon, we’re going to have to abandon your plugin if it can’t be fixed and we’ve got a lot of downloads in there, and it’s a great plugin!
Thanks for all your help.
We’ve used the migration plugin to migrate all our downloads to the latest version.
Downloads seems the be there in the backend, but the front end show nothing. No download button, no listing.
Please contact be via email so we can troubleshoot this. I cannot paste the link on your public forum.
I know. All article pages on my website have a author box by default, because I made theme customizations.
WP Download manager pages are also affected since they are singular pages. Maybe I can make a excerpt for wpdm articles, but I do not know,
how to check if the actual site is a wpdm article.
I often used WordPress functions like is_category('News')
, is_page ('Downloads');
orhas_thumbnail() == TRUE;
to get things working for my site.
But I do not know how to go with WPDM… I would need a function that returns a boolean or something similar, which let my site know that WPDM is used for this article in order to remove the author box, my inserted thumbnail, and the blue buggy category flag.
Maybe you know how to make such a check..
(Just answer this question and tell me why CSS parsing gives errors.. Then my site should be working completely)
Hello,
I modified my Genesis Framework theme, so that it automatically checks if the blogpost has a thumbnail. If it has one, the thumbnail will show up above the actual article. So I need to remove the thumbnail for the WPDM page. probably there is a function that checks if the actual article is a WPDM page like is_page("Downloads")
or returns a boolean like WP_running() == TRUE;
or something
Hi Shaon, I have more info for you regarding the error message you suggested I go back to our web host provider.
Julie Duran, Jan 15, 7:56 AM:
On site wrc.wpengine.com we use the WP Download Manager plugin. WRC is a multisite installation. WRC is the parent. CEF is the sub site. The files upload and remain attached after submission to the content type when on the CEF sub site. But when uploading and submitting on the parent site (WRC) the files do not attach to the content type. Instead, an error is recorded in the log (below). I’ve addressed this issue with the WP Download Manager author, and he says it points to the server.
I’ve tried resetting server permissions and emptying server cache – no change. Not sure what else to look for or change. The error is persistent on the parent site.
Author quote:
“function.session_start.duration exceeded 200ms” <– this could be something related to your server, nothing to do with wpdm pro actually, please ask server/hosting support.
/download-manager/download-manager.php:15 calls session_start function, that’s a php function to initiate session, it doesn’t cuase any issue except server blocking it.

Brian McMahon, Jan 15, 4:36 PM:
Hey Julie,
Thanks for the update.
Here is the breakdown of those errors.
[WPE Monitoring] Stopwatch … These are the platform notifications that get triggered whenever a session starts. They don’t indicate an error or problem.
purge_varnish_cache() failed for:… We don’t cache the staging area, so when your site tries to purge cache, it hits an error. I don’t see any of these errors on the production site, so I don’t think these are related to the plugin issue.
File does not exist:… This error states that /wp-content/plugins/download-manager/file-type-icons/48×48/JPG.png was requested by http://wrc.staging.wpengine.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=wpdmpro and not found. I checked in your file system, and there is a jpg.png, but no JPG.png. The file system is case-sensitive, so your site is requesting a file that doesn’t exist. I checked the matching directory on the production site, and there is not a copy of the file there either.
I have activated debug logging in the staging environment to see if we can gather more info.
I would like to test the plugin’s functionality in staging with all your plugins disabled and the default theme active. Please send us the exact steps to replicate the problem so we can watch the plugin work incorrectly.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Julie Duran, Jan 16, 10:20 AM:
Thanks for the info Brian. Here are the exact steps as requested.
a) Login 😉
b) In the admin dashboard click on DOWNLOADS > ADD NEW on the left nav.
c) Enter a title (anything will do)
d) Drag a couple files into the far right DROP FILES HERE box. Notice that they will appear as “Attached Files” further down the page. This is important – because when you hit submit (later) these will disappear.
e) Scroll down and add file names under the “Attached Files” block. (No need to add passwords)
f) Package Settings:
a. Select Link Template “Call to Action 1”
b. Select Page Template “Metro Style”
c. Select any icon from the icons tab
g) Select Category = Test
h) Uploaded a featured image
i) Hit the PUBLISH button. You’ll see “Post published .” message.
j) Notice that your files you uploaded are no longer ATTACHED.
k) NOTE: If you go through these same steps with the CEF sub-site of this WRC install, – the files are attached.
Here’s the error log for stepping through the above while documenting this for you:
[Fri Jan 16 16:10:45 2015] [error] [client 66.195.151.210] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. I then repeated the steps using template “Call to Action 2” (no extra icons or featured images added)

Brian McMahon, Jan 16, 3:09 PM:
Hi Julie,
Thanks for providing the walkthrough. That’s really helpful!
In staging, I was able to replicate the issue.
After trying the use the plugin under normal conditions, I disabled all the plugins (including the cloner plugin that was network activated), activated the default theme, and tried again. Adding a new download still didn’t work correctly.
After that I cleaned up the install as much as possible – I dropped in a default .htaccess, commented out the home and site URL definitions from wp-config.php, and ran some refresh scripts. I also tried raising the value of max_input_vars to 5000. The plugin didn’t work again.
The debug log in wp-content was only logging the stopwatch and cache notifications, which aren’t errors. The “File does not exist” errors for a couple images were still popping up, but those don’t usually break functionality.
With your theme active, the PHP notices are triggered:
[16-Jan-2015 20:46:30] PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /nas/wp/www/staging/wrc/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-template-builder/php/pointer.class.php on line 52
PHP notices are not very minor notifications, and the plugin isn’t working regardless of whether the theme is active or not. I don’t think the notice has anything to do with the problem.
I searched through our ticket system for issues with Download Manager on our platform and didn’t find any similar incidents.
At this point, I think the best thing to do is try reinstalling the plugin files from a fresh download. You’re running the pro version of Download Manager, so I couldn’t acquire a copy.
I also recommend contacting the plugin developer and letting him know what we’ve tested. He might have some feedback on the required specs for the plugin. If you can show him the links to our phpinfo page and disabled functions on our server, he might have some helpful input. Those links are:
• phpinfo.wpengine.com
• http://wpengine.com/support/what-functions-are-enabled-on-the-server-level/
Please try reinstalling the plugin and contacting the developer for his feedback.
Hi all,
I love this plugin however I have one query I want to be able to sort the results as shown on the website from the admin, but can’t see a option to do this, I have thought I could add the shortcodes for each one, but is there no better option e.g. to sort it into a custom order which I specifically want?
EDIT:: I just saw that by using the Tiny MCE button you can add the sort order by ascending or descending, downloads etc but I need my items in a specific order, is this not possible?
thanks
Graham
Thank you Shaon,
My URL is under password because development. You have an mail address I send you the user and PW.
I changed the pdf.png and it works.
But now I have a very big distance between one to the other download item. If I can change this big distance its all ok. I have about 15mm space between the downloads. What I need is 6mm. The font-size I need because I cannot work with <h1-5) because another plugin change all what have an <h1> to <h5> only <h6> is free but to big.
My Template:
<div class=”media”>
[icon]
<div class=”media-body”>
<p class=”media-heading” style=”font-color: #000 padding-top: 1px;border:1px;margin: 1px;”><font size=”3″>[title] [download_link]</font></p>
<h6><i style=”margin: 2px 0 0 5px;opacity:0.5″ class=”icon icon-th-large”></i><i style=”margin: 2px 0 0 5px; opacity:0.5″ class=”icon icon-download-alt”></i></h6>
</div>
</div>
Thank you
Roland
Ok, I’ve installed migration add-on, now you can migrate all old packages from Downloads Settings Migrate
Hi, Is there any tricks to upgrading my site from the free to the pro version? I saw I need to delete the free version, then upload pro and activate. However, is there any additional steps? Will my shortcodes and downloads work just the same after installing pro?
#1. Play list is showing now http://downloadsermon.com/downloads/power-priority-dr-d-k-olukoya/ , but if you apply any lock option, to see the play list you need to add-on sample tracks, as locked files can’t be player.
How to add sample track?
— use attach media button with edit to upload sample track(s), just it, you don’t have to insert info post.
#2. Frontend http://downloadsermon.com/frontend/
Deactivate & Delete old version and install & activate new, that’s all, data will not be affected.
I see you installed woocommernce, but for selling digital product, this http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/premium-package/ could be better than anything else 🙂
Hello Shaon,
I got since recently this error message on all downloads : Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent in… and a full page of errors and code similar to this.
I’ve read in other topics I have to remove a range of lines in the functions.php file.
As I see I’m not the only one, is there somewhere an explaination on how to resolve this. In a topic you ask to remove some lines, in another, you ask to provide an access… Could you give the code to remove as this way I could do it myself?
Regards,
Christophe

That’s a shame. This was working great for what I needed, but I really only need it as a download counter (not listing downloads / etc).
Great product anyway.
Hi,
First install the version 4.1.8 and I could not add downloads. I updated to version 4.1.9 and neither can add downloads.
Please help me
Regards,
The zip file for 4.19 Pro doesn’t download in my profile options, instead it downloads like it is the normal free version. It also installs like it is the free version.. I did pay for the year back in November, so am not sure why it’s reverting me back to the free version.
@shoan,
It’s still not working for me.
I tried typing the word “office” in the search box, pressed Enter on my keyboard, and the result is “No download found!” See this image for what happens.
There are lots of packages with the word “office” in them. I paged through all the downloads on the page to get to some packages that had the word “office” in their title to show you. Here’s a screen capture.
Does the search box search the title field of the packages? If not, what does it search?
Thanks,
Jerrad
This is from The Event Calendar support. We’re stuck between two plugin developers saying it’s the other guy’s issue. We really need help here.
—
I just tested with the WordPress Download Manager plugin and was able to recreate the issue where uploaded files are not saving as attached to downloads when creating new downloads while The Events Calendar plugin is active.
To be honest, I’m not sure this is something that we would be able to address within our plugin. The download and and associated meta should be contained completely within post type created for the download manager plugin and shouldn’t directly interact with the Events Calendar events when saving.
Let us know what you hear back from the other forum. If there is something we’re doing that goes against WordPress best practices that is somehow causing the issue, we’re definitely more than willing to look into a solution.
Hi
I just purchased the pro version of the plugin, and installed the free addons
I set up a listing page of my files, using the shortcode [wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=20]
I’m using tags and instead of having the created date of the file, I want to show the tag associated with the file.
I suppose I have to make changes in the wpdm-all-downloads.php file, but I can not figure out exactly what I have to change. Either the tag is not showing or I crash the page 🙂
Thanks for your help
I suddenly can’t add new downloads. The icon is in my editor and it opens fine but when I click on the file tree it won’t open up the folder with the files to select. It will open to show any subfolders, but not files.
I’ve tried disabling all plugins and it doesn’t fix it.
Using Download Manager Pro Version 4.1.8
Wordpress Version 4.1

here is the URL to the site: http://www.appapk.co
Make sure to tell me if you need more info or admin access
