Hi there,
I love this plugin. Thank you. But I’m running into an issue where the downloads are not showing in the “History and Stats”.
I also tried to install it on a new WordPress site and I’m having the same issue. Are there any known server tweaks that need to be made in order to get it to work? Please advise. Thanks!

Yes, I checked that settings and it is correct. I also tried switching it on and off again to be sure.
I have made all my downloads by selecting the images to download using “select from media library”

Is there a way to change the default link template used? Iwould like to use a different template for all download links and use that one for all future downloads. I have searched the docs but can’t find anything about setting a default. Thanks!

If you want to include the smaller thumbnail and download info and button only, you are also able to create Downloads page templates from Download > Templates > Page Templates and make templates according to your own requirements. And for the #1 issue, I think it is coming from your theme single.php file. please copy the single.php file and make a clone single-wpdmpro.php file and by removing the_post_thumbnail() or similar thumbnail code snippet, you shall be able to remove the big thumbnail image. please check and let me know

Just had another look at this in the CMS, and still not really making much sense.
Based on what you said – ‘Showing downloads 1 – 30 of total 5 – means there are 5 unique users downloaded at that time period’ – I’ve attached another link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14baLs5wQF5xk3aLWmbu-FBaT5SzwQE5O/view?usp=sharing
As you can see all users are showing as Guest. How can it sort that information by 5 unique users when there is no user information stored for each download? There are also more than 5 unique IP addresses and more than 5 different document titles so can’t be sorting by those either.
This has been back and forth for a number of months. Need to get this sorted as the client is complaining.

I know all of that. Exactly what I did but it gives different behaviors at different times.
I am talking about inconsistency here.
Here’s it:
Sometimes, downloading single files works as expected, while other times, it just downloads any file it pleases. The latter is the result in most cases.
Or sometimes, it just downloads the whole ZiP file when you choose to download a single file.
I had to temporarily disable single file downloads, now my users have to download the full ZIP file in order to mitigate such unpredictable behavior.

New plugin was installed a few days ago. .htaccess file was installed at some point in the download manager folder which changed the layout, views, removed download ability, as well as messed up the icons. After once again deleting the htaccess file, everything returned back to normal.

I have just checked the latest version of dropbox in our local environment and found it is working properly.
Please make sure that you have followed the instructions here.
You have to add App Key, App Secret, and Access Token from Downloads > Settings > Cloud Storage
After doing so if the issue still persists, please also provide temporary admin access in a private reply.

For #2, The downloads file will open in the same window for locked packages for now, do you want open it in a new window for Email locked packages, I shall forward the issue to our developers.
And For #3, For approved feature, please check the option from Email lock section Wait For Approval as I image attached

I have spent a couple of hours on this today and have gone round in a full circle.
I tried downgrading to the previous working verison I had (5.3.9) but no longer could get this to work.
I then upgraded back to 6.2.5 and 6.2.6 but, just as at the weekend the upgrade process crashed the website and I had to delete the plugin and then reinstall from scratch (it kept all the data).
We’re now back where we started. You can download previously uploaded zip files, but you cannot download any new zip files because it downloads an empty file called “download-manager-files”. FYI the server *does* have a folder of the same name that has plenty of files in it, but WPDM downloads an empty file with the same name as the folder instead of the target file.
BTW I tried downloading your WPDM TEST file test.zip and I get exactly the same problem. I can send you a screen shot if this helps, but how do I do this.
I urgently need to resolve this problem. Please can you escalate this as soon as possible to one of your colleagues if you can’t find a solution.

I tried it just now using a fresh browser and the same problem persists. It downloads an empty file called “download-manager-files”. This only happened when we upgraded to the latest version of Download Manager, and only affects new files uploaded to the website. The first step is for you to reproduce the error yourself using the credentials supplied yesterday, and then suggest a fix. There are dozens of other plugins with which Download Manager has coexisted for years, so why should they be a problem now?
Please let me know how you get on – I do need this fixed today.

We have set a limit of three downloads per day for all standard users on our website, but many of them receive four downloads. Can you please help me figure out why they receive additional downloads before the restriction occurs?

Also please tell me if you have used Gutenberg or Elementor to create that related category filter? I think you have used “All Downloads Table” of WPDM Gutenberg addon. Please confirm me.
If possible please also share temporary admin access of your website in a private reply so that we can look the issue closely.

WPDM generally doesn’t hamper the page loading effect. However, you can also check the options from the WPDM settings, from the Downloads > Settings > Privacy section. please check.

Yes, the last version breaks the display of files. All our downloads are now either not visible or not downloadable.
Please fix!
This new option, Basic, Accessibly setting:
“When user is not allowed to download:”
– Only block downloads
– Hide everything
Is bugged.
I tried that option, but it still directly downloads the piece…doesn’t seem to be properly working. But, I don’t want to do this sitewide anyway…just for a few certain resources. Is there any way to just get the link to the PDF so I can use something like the Page Links To plugin to have those resources open directly to the PDF in a new tab just like a PDF would from the media gallery in WP.

Yesterday I bought your plugin. I thought (by reading the description of the functionalities) that the paid version would be able to do a simple task as this one:
-I have an automatic backup system for a few websites on server A.
-The backup files are saved in the user-folder-1, user-folder-2 etc. on server B.
-I’ve created on server B the corresponding users for each of the websites running on server A.
-I’ve installed your plugin and created the download packs (without attaching files, using just the folder view option that shoud get the folder content dinamically, right?) for each user on server B.
No selling is involved.
Users are allowed only to download.
Question: Is there a way/shortcode to assign each download (and folder) to his user? I tried but did not find anything similar among the functionalities of the plugin I paid for.
ADDENDA: the “Download” button for the whole zipped package does not work (wordpress critical error).

I am not quite sure, had not yet update the download manager on the new server
(at least as far as I remember), but all other plugins, have no problem with the updates.
One question, if I overwrite the plugin with the new version (so reinstall), will then not all laboriously created downloads and data overwritten or deleted.
