Hi nick,
Sorry for the delay. I have checked your issue here, it is working properly here,
http://apsighe.org/wpdm-test/
according to the doc,
[wpdm_category] – Query All Downloads From One or More Categories
you should put category slug or slugs instead of IDs, please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
Hi,
Sorry for all confusions, http://loewen-development.de/downloads/?udb_page=my-downloads will show the packages only assigned to that user specifically using Select Members:
option by default. However, if you want to show role assignment there too, add shortcode parameter role=1
Hello Shreek Raivadera,
Hope you are well. you can check this shortcode,
[wpdm_category] – Query All Downloads From One or More Categories
please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
I have downloaded the Advanced Access Control Plugin, but I am unable to get the package to show up in the users ‘My downloads’ section by category alone.
Is there a setting that needs to be activated in order for this to work for categories?
I am only able to get the package to show up in ‘My Downloads’ if it is specifically assigned to the username.
Thanks!
Our site is in test mode. Website audience is Human Resource departments.
Two main site functions are:
1 Sell Zip bundles of templates consisting of PDF, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint files.
Plus
2 Two membership options
– Free member level with PDF downloads
– Paid member level with access to all paid bundles and source files
Problems we’re having:
Attach Dir – Doesn’t work for packages. Resulting download is a filenotfound txt file.
Test Pay – For individual bundles – transaction processes and order is recorded but no download is available in account “Order Details”.
Download from package pages – Free membership can download from the package details page. But paid memberships can only download from “My Downloads” area in their account. Also if a person purchases a package (not a membership), they still see a “Buy” button instead of a “Download” button on the public facing package page.
In the block editor, Pricing and Discounts/Package Free Downloads – Requires uploading to or selecting from the Media Library – Can’t select file from the server.
In the block editor, Pricing and Discounts/Package Free Downloads – Require name and email to get the free file.
Enabling Single File Download – Doesn’t seem to do anything.
Custom templates Bug: Some of the insert variables put in the wrong code – for example download button adds download URL and download URL inserts download button shortcode
Thanks for your help,

Hi Tanvir,

I used to be able to point “Basic – Access Settings” to a dedicated first level folder, just lower than my website root folder. In other words, it was not within “/public_html/”, but instead one level higher. Once I did that, I could easily add individual download files using “Edit File” and then “Select From Server”. I am no longer able to do that, since it seems that “Access Settings” cannot select a folder higher than “/public_html/”. I only allow downloads from my website (no uploads). My reason for locating my download files at a higher level folder was to separate them from my public html space. Is this still possible?
Hello,
I thing there is a bug in this plugin.
I am using “All Downloads Table”. When I choose certain categories from the “all table” side bar, the correct categories are displayed in the table. However, all the categories are displayed in the dropdowns. We want only the selected category to be showed in the dropdowns. Please see the image in the following link for a visual discription:

Here is the link for the website:

Do you recommend another method to solve this problem?
Thank you

Hello again,
please let me rephrase our problem to help with possible misunderstandings:
We have a My Downloads page where files are being shared. Only users with the role “investorgeprueft” are allowed to see those files. However, users with this role can’t see any files at all.
It is strictly neccessary that the file management is handled with the “investorgeprueft” user role.
Regarding the categories, we previously had them added to the My Downloads page, because users are redirected there after login. Please let us know how we can add them there again.
Thank you!
Hi thanks but it not match
i dont want to view downloads from categories but only categories title (linkable) .
More, when i try to use [wpdm_category id="54,55,259,260,261,262,263" operator="IN" title="NOTRE BASE" desc="" toolbar="1" paging="1" orderby="field name" order="desc" items_per_page="10" template="link-template-calltoaction4" cols=1 async=1] it don’t show any files or category
(sorry but for now can’t afford buying 49usd just for that)
Hello Marius,
I have checked it carefully.
You are talking about the My downloads page http://loewen-development.de/downloads/?udb_page=my-downloads. I have tested it and it works as expected.
Actually it is a private download area which is integrated as a feature of WPDM Advanced Access Control. Even if you deactivate that addon My Downloads section will be removed.
In this section, downloads will be available if member is selected

You can also check the addon page for more details
Advanced Access Control
So role based access permission is available with Download manager pro but individual member can be added only with advanced access control and my download is the private section for that.
Also for the wpdm categories issue, I tried to find related page but haven’t found any page. if you send me the page link by reproducing the issue, I would be happy to inspect and give you a solution for that.
Regards
Tanvir
Hey,
I have a desgn Problem.
As you can see here for example
the Files were smaller and smaller.
On Desktop it is ok but on mobile you can´t see the Download File.

Can I change it in the Linktemplate?
Hello Schenker Technologies,
For the latest version, you should put the shortcode and parameter as the doc describes here,
[wpdm_category] – Query All Downloads From One or More Categories
I hope you have understood. please check.
Thank you and regards
Hello!
I have a question concerning the update of the plugin. It says: “Please activate Download Manager license for automatic update” but when I type in the license key it says “unvalid license key” but I have a ongoing purchase for the Download Manager.
I want to update from version 4.9.3. to 5.0.5 (?). I’ve read maybe I should update the plugin manually like this:
1. Delete the old plugin
2. Download the latest plugin
3. Activate the license key
My biggest concern is, if all the downloads are lost after this? Or are all downloads back after installing the new one? I don’t know if I can test this on a staging site because I am afraid I would “redeem” the license key then for this domain?
Thank you in advance!!
Paul
Hello Antonio Roldán Ruiz,
I have checked your issue. For now, are you able to update your WPDM copy to the latest version, after that, I shall check it again for you. For updating the WPDM main plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License
, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins
panel. For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License
, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated. please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
Hi Tanvir,
Thank you for the reply.
Does this Addon work with Categories as well? Or does it only work if you specify the specific usernames in the Package?
For example, will users who have a access to download Packages within a certain Category see those all of the Packages they have access to in the ‘My downloads’ section? Or does the ‘My downloads’ section only show you Packages that have specifically be tied to a username?
Thanks
Hello Antonio Roldán Ruiz,
For updating the WPDM main plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License
, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins
panel. For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License
, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated.
And for updating WPDM other plugins, please download your plugin from here,
User Dashboard
and update manually from the wp-admin dashboard Plugins > Add New
option
For your issue #1, please share the related URL, if possible, can you please, give your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply for checking the issue?
please let me know
Thank you and regards
Hi
I have been trying to download the downloads history, but it always return time-out (even if I break it down by filtering a few months at a time).
Can you help me to download:
– all history, total downloads
– all history, unique downloads only
In addition, it looks like unique downloads are not matching. If I filter year by year (unique downloads) and sum it, I get a different # if simply filter unique downloads all years.
Hi,
yes, it was indeed an older version.
As previously stated, we tested the development site with the same user as on the live site. On the live site, the user can see all the download files, on the development site it can’t.
Downloads are only supposed to be shared with this one user role, so we can’t widen it to all/other user roles.
Would you please check again?
Also, would you please tell us why the categories from the widget area are missing from the sidebar?
Thank you.
I’m using [wpdm_archive], how do I NOT show all files when first loaded? Currently on the first page it shows all files the user has access to, but this is a bit messy if they are all in different sub-categories as you can’t tell which file belongs to which category, they’re just all alphabetically mixed together. How do I make it hide the files by default until a category is selected, and possibly even have a message like “Please select a folder/category to view files”.
Thanks
Hi Nayeem, when im logged in again the whole UX of the WP Downloads plugin has reverted to the old style interface. I can’t see any way way to edit this plugin to get it to do what we need to to do with any sort of ease. Can we just request a full refund on this. Its not really doing what we need it to do. It shouldn’ be this hard to try and configure.
If you can let me know who to get a refund I’ll then remove the plugin from the site.

there should be 6 downloads to appear in 6 different tiles / images. All are setup in the packages section.
Hello Michael,
Hope you are well. Can you please check the doc here,
[wpdm_category] – Query All Downloads From One or More Categories
You can use orderby
parameter from here and put the value as title
for your alphabetical order. please check and let me know if it works for you.
Thank you and regards
Hi Nayeem
Thanks, the display issue now seems to be resolved. However we’re still having issues trying to even get these to show on our website.
1. HOME PAGE DISPLAY
We have created the package, created the category, assigned the category to the packages. I want to display all the packages (we have 6 in total) using the ‘IMAGE HOVER’ (template) which I’ve imported. But where do we find the shortcodes to actually display this on a page. Can’t seem to find any help docs on this or how to implement this.
2. LANDING PAGE DISPLAY
I then want to display each of the 6 packages separately on 6 different pages. I want these to display individually using the ‘Template Name: Call To Action 3’ template. Again I can’t see how to do this?
3. DOWNLOADS PAGE DISPLAY
For the ‘List Packages’ display. Is it possible to have our own filters in the drop down? Ie a dropdown menu with 6 categories (or tags) that people can filter by, as opposed to only being allowed to filter by the preset publish date etc / sort by ascending / descending. This is how we want this section to display – https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/archive-page-compact/
