My credentials work fine to interact with all other buckets and folders in my Amazon S3 account. I have shown you that my permissions are correct and that they match for the AUDIO FILES and VIDEO FILES folders. I have also tried changing permissions in the Access Control List for the whmediacentral bucket to be public and tried adding and removing Bucket policies but the results are always the same. Your demo video showing you accessing Amazon S3 on my site was using your own S3 account, not mine.

As I’ve said several times before, I have no problems accessing all folders in the whmediacentral bucket using OLDER versions of Download Manager and WPDM Amazon S3. I only have issues with this bucket’s folders on

    your latest versions

. How can it possibly be a permissions issue in my Amazon S3 account when the older versions work fine with the same read and write permissions??

I do not have any caching enabled on my staging site currently or on my server. Is there some kind of cache in your software that I can clear in one of my site’s directories or something that can be edit in my database that could resolve this issue?

I am getting very close to discontinuing the renewal for your software and will probably switch to something else. I am quite unhappy with your refusal to escalate my ticket to higher tech support. @Shahriar used to regularly help me and was great at resolving issues fairly quickly. Please escalate this ticket to him or someone more advanced in support as soon as possible.

You have not recently logged in to check my staging site so you can’t say that it is working fine on MY site. I can see when you log into my staging site and the last time you logged in was on October 5, 2020 at 8:45 pm Pacific Time.

I just created a new IAM access key and secret key specifically for WPDM and I followed the instructions that you provided exactly and entered the new keys in the WPDM Amazon S3 settings and saved the settings.

Group Permissions: https://snipboard.io/AEeNWD.jpg

Even after doing this, no other folders in the whmediacentral bucket are visible other than the AUDIO FILES folder. https://snipboard.io/sbdXIk.jpg

I just tried creating a new folder called another-folder in the whmediacentral directory (bucket) using my Amazon S3 account directly. The new folder still doesn’t show in the Amazon S3 Manager built into WPDM Amazon S3. I also tried creating a new directory from within the Amazon S3 Manager window in WPDM Amazon S3. I can see that the folder gets created in my Amazon S3 account itself but the newly created folder still refuses to appear inside of the whmdediacentral directory (bucket).

The code to restore my link and page templates appears to have worked. Thanks for that and for clarifying the proper syntax.

The display of my VIDEO FILES folder still needs to be escalated to advanced support to be addressed and resolved. Since I can see and access the VIDEO FILES folder with WPDM Amazon S3 version 2.7.8 active but I can’t see and access it under version 2.8.1 or higher, this can’t be a permissions issue on my VIDEO FILES folder. Here is are screenshots of my permissions for the AUDIO FILES and VIDEO FILES folders which show that the permissions are exactly the same for both folders:

AUDIO FILES permissions – https://snipboard.io/kqvbRi.jpg

Please disregard the very last reply about the Console errors (I had pasted a link to this ticket in the Editor and I suspect it was throwing the Console errors because this thread is password protected).

Please address the folder access issues and the Page Template/Link Template issues (mentioned previously) as soon as possible. If we don’t come to a resolution soon, I’ll need to switch to another solution and discontinue using your products.

I’m also mentioning this in case it is related to the issue of not being able to see all the folders in the WHMEDIACENTRAL bucket. On the Edit Package page I see these Console errors:

https://snipboard.io/H2d5F3.jpg

These errors do not exist on my live site running Download Manager 5.1.8 and Amazon S3 2.8.1 on my live site.

As I’ve said, I have already checked the permissions. The permissions for the AUDIO FILES folder and the VIDEO FILES folder are exactly the same. If I roll back the WPDM Amazon S3 plugin to version 2.7.8, then I can see the VIDEO FILES folder (and the files inside it) on the Edit Package screen (although I can’t add files to the package because that version isn’t compatible with Download Manager 5.2.3). The problem is not my Amazon S3 permissions. The permissions are the same as they have been for at least 4 years. The issue didn’t start until your developers made changes to both Download Manager and WPDM Amazon S3.

Several years ago, there was an issue where spaces in Amazon S3 bucket and folder names caused issues with WPDM Amazon S3 being able to display buckets (which was fixed in an update to the plugin). Since my Amazon sub-folder names do have spaces, perhaps there is something going on in your software again related to this?

Please escalate this ticket to advanced support as soon as possible. Thank you.

I already checked the permissions on the Videos folder and they are correct and have been working fine up until changes were made recently to Download Manager and WPDM Amazon S3. The Videos folder is visible on the Edit Package screen in versions of Download Manager version 5.1.8 and on WPDM Amazon S3 version 2.8.1 on my LIVE site so that is also a confirmation that the Videos folder permissions are correct. See https://snipboard.io/UCyEDw.jpg

I do see, however, on my live site that the Videos folder is not visible through your Amazon S3 Manager dashboard built into Download Manager (but is visible in the Edit Package screen as mentioned above). My staging site is running the newest versions of both DM and WPDM Amazon S3 plugins and the Videos folder is not available at all there.

I didn’t deactivate the credentials previously provided. I just logged in with them and they worked fine. Please try again and address the issues ASAP.

Please provide a timely response to my last post. I am growing weary of the delayed responses and the continuing issues that are slow to be addressed.

I have downloaded and installed the latest WPDM Amazon S3 plugin (version 2.8.2) and have updated to Download Manager 5.2.3. I can now attach files to a package however the Amazon S3 plugin is only showing ONE of my buckets that is inside of the parent bucket. I have a parent bucket called “whmediacentral” with two sub-buckets inside of that (called AUDIO FILES and VIDEO FILES). Only the AUDIO FILES bucket is accessible via the WPDM Amazon S3 plugin interface. I have clicked the SAVE SETTINGS button on the Amazon S3 settings page but this doesn’t fix the issue. Please fix this ASAP.

Also, I see a few new options in the settings for the WPDM Amazon S3 plugin settings (as seen in the screenshot). Do these need to be set and if so, how should they be correctly set?? https://snipboard.io/uKnwmq.jpg

In addition, I have discovered another new issue where, after updating to the most recent version of Download Manager, the Page Templates and Link Templates have become UNSET in each EXISTING package. Since I have 130 packages, it will take a long time to manually go back and reset the templates in every package. (https://snipboard.io/ANIEG7.jpg) Please provide a way for me to relink all of my templates globally (probably via a function of some kind). I was previously provided this function by WPDM Support (see this post: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/reposted-custom-link-and-page-templates-missing-again/#post-112519) however there appears to be syntax errors in this code (on lines 3 through 5) which crashes my site (and I did replace the page_template_id and link_template_id with my own template IDs):

function wpdm_bulk_update_templates(){
    $params = array(
        'post_type' ► 'wpdmpro',
        'posts_per_page' ► -1,
    );
    $packs = new WP_Query( $params );
    while( $packs->have_posts() ) {
        $packs->the_post();
        global $post;
        update_post_meta(get_the_ID(),'_wpdm_page_template','page_template_id');
        update_post_meta(get_the_ID(),'_wpdm_template','link_template_id');
    }
}
add_action('init', 'wpdm_bulk_update_templates');

I am quite disappointed in the development team for delaying a fix for this Amazon S3 issue, especially since I reported this issue more than two weeks ago and the fact that I have paid for support for both WordPress Download Manager Pro and the WPDM Amazon S3 plugin.

midihead7

Do you have an update on this issue? It’s been 5 days since your last reply. Version 5.2.2 didn’t fix the issue.

midihead7

OK, I’ll wait for confirmation that this is fixed (please provide the version number of the release that corrects it). For your information, I did just try updating to Download Manager version 5.2.2 on my staging site but it doesn’t fix this issue yet.

I understand that I can use hyphens and underscores but some of my files and buckets already had apostrophes in the names and have been that way for years. The issue is that filenames and buckets with apostrophes used to work up until recently. Something changed in either the WPDM plugin or Download Manager. Why should I contact support at that email address when this forum is for official support of purchased plugins??

Thank you for the CSS code. I added the [title] with inline styling to my custom page template to make it look like it did before so everything looks like it should now. You may close this ticket.

In addition to the reported issues, I have found that Bootstrap 4 breaks the accordion and messes up the styling of the pages. I had to revert back to Bootstrap 3 to fix that particular issue. I’ve seen at least one other person reporting to have a similar issue.

I am trying to post a private reply with my login credentials along with more details but my private reply is not showing as being posted. I just get the screen showing my original post only. The private reply contains my login credentials along with some HTML links to shared files to help you troubleshoot the issues. There is no PHP code directly in the reply. I tried in both Chrome and Firefox. I know that you now moderate new forum posts but I received no message saying that replies to existing posts would also be moderated. How do I get my reply to submit to you???

Also, could you please provide the proper code to bulk update the link templates as well?

midihead7

Thanks. Will this code go in my functions.php file for my active theme?

I went ahead and created the custom templates in the directories as suggested, naming the files using the original template IDs to keep the IDs the same as what is stored in the database. I then deleted my old custom templates through the Templates dashboard. After doing this, my new custom templates (in the directories) are working properly on the front end however I saw an issue where there appeared to be no template selected in each package.

https://snipboard.io/R0ugfK.jpg

Since I didn’t see any other place to set this in the database other than the _wpdm_template and _wpdm_page_template meta values (which were already set properly), I still had to go into each package and manually reset the templates there. If I saved a package without doing so, it would revert to several of the other default templates (if any were active). Would there have been another place to reset the templates for each package in the database or was manually resetting in each package the only way in this case?

What makes you think that it is the Updraft Plus backup plugin causing the option table to be modified like this? I backup my database every 4 hours with that software and the only time the templates ever disappear is occasionally right after I update Download Manager Pro.

If I create the custom templates manually in the /active-theme/download-manager/link-templates/ and /active-theme/download-manager/page-templates/ directories, will they be overwritten when I update Download Manager Pro?
