I only see the difference in response time / download start time, after download starts, then after 2-3 secs, speeds looks ok to me.

You can change download speed from download manager Settings Page File Download Section , If you increase speed, I think problem will be solved, but still you it timeouts, please increase php execution timeout limit in your server.

Storage location still same as wpdm itself, we shall add separate location, configuration setting soon.
Attached files/urls are stored in post meta table and meta name is __wpdm_files, but the meta value stored in serialize format because of multiple files possibility.
I tried deactivating some plugins and found “Page Builder Sandwich” was causing this trouble.

Sorry, but if it is in language file already wpdm have nothing much to do with it. “Processing…” already exists in language file and in some place, I just found “processing…” is hard coded, thank you for that, Anyhow I’ve adjusted it for next update, please let me know if you want me to update your site now.
in search, user may see the doc but will not be able to download, “Hide Everything” settings doesn’t have control over search listing page, it mostly depends on active theme.
Now only authorized users will be able to see categories in tree view. Please check access settings for categories.
Please ask your server/hosting support to activate cURL, that will resolve the issue.
