Ok, So i think we have a little misunderstanding. Your plugin does a few things,
1. Displays a list of “packages” to a page using “link-templates”. Correct?
2. When you click on one of those packages listed in the “link-template” explained on the line above, you THEN are brought to a detail page that shows all the details of the package and also allows you to download the file.
Now, that we both understand that, your not answering my question. I asked how do i display the “page-template” for that package and your telling me how to show a template for a specific package which is not what i asked. If i click on the package and then get taken to a detail page for that package, how would i add a shortcode for that package when that page is dynamic to whatever package is clicked.
After hours of looking and trial and error i think i had to finally find my answer by editing the file and changing the settings on how i want it to look.
While im at it, you and your docs keep pointing us to this page: https://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/ready-to-use-templates/, which is a waste of my time since I already looked at that page and i already chose what one i want my detail page to look like but NO WHERE on that page does it tell me how to achieve that look and feel. All it does is show me what your software can do as to try to make a sale but i already purchased your plugin.
Your features of the plugin and nice ways on how to make it look is what made me purchase, but its not very easy to find how to use it other than the install and then gotta kinda dig through lots of stuff to still not find the direct answer.
Hello amos mika,
Hope you are well. Yes, your requirements are possible to implement. you have to customize the link-template which you are using in your package for getting only the download button. And For getting knowledge about link-template, you can check this doc,
Link Template
For changing the caption, you can check the Package settings > Link Label
option. For the option, you can check the above doc link too. please check and let me know
Thank you and regards
Hi, The web link is: https://cncupgrades.com/downloads. you will see the 2 download links there that work but below that is this shortcode: [wpdm_package id="page-template-col2"] and it shows nothing. Is that the correct shortcode?
Hello Arvind Kumar,
Sorry for the delay. You will get extended features from WordPress Download Manager Pro like,
the addon will generate a temporary download link with 4 hours expiration time,
I hope you have understood now.
Thank you and regards

please check and let me know

Thank u for your reply.
Through default settings of shortcode the download link is provided. Kindly guide how to attach a file from server as a server path to initiate download?
Kindly check the link https://awaken-spiritually.com/test-download
Hello Marc,
For downloading directly without having to jump to the next page with the link-template, please replace [download_link]
with <a href="[download_url]" class="btn btn-primary">[link_label]</a>
in related link-template/link-template PHP file.
And for the white line issue, can you please share the related package URL too for checking the PDF? please check and let me know.
Thank you and regards
Hello Marc,
Thanks for elaborating. Now, I think on this page, https://se-audiotechnik.de/index.php/service/downloads/?lang=en, you have used link templates for packages. Do you want packages like B 15 Data Sheet EN, when anyone clicks download will start automatically? please elaborate on this.
And for the white line issue, can you please share the related package URL too for checking the PDF? please let me know
Thank you and regards

I have opposite problem. I am using free version of plugin. I have created a particular page for download of PDF ebook. When I click the link to download, the ebook opens in the browser with the file location. With this file location anyone can have access to download it. Why the file not downloading?
I have two questions that are probably easy to answer:
1st: If I create a download and then call it in the frontend, this link does not generate the download link for me, but redirects me to another page with the template. How and where do I set it up so that I receive the download link directly without having to make another click?
2nd:
When I upload a PDF (and here you can include the first question) and then want to download it in the frontend, I get white lines in the browser view (mostly in graphics). The PDF itself is perfectly ok, because offline and opened in the file system, it is displayed correctly. It’s not the browser, it’s the same display problem under Firefox, Chrome and Opera. If I download the PDF and view it with Acrobat Reader or print it, it is also OK. So it must be the plug-in – or am I wrong here?
It would be nice if someone could help me 🙂
Thanks!
Hello,
A page illustrating the question is this one, which contains tables generated by Download Manager Pro, linking to download packages:
All download packages require a user to be logged in.
The red “Login” button has the desired behavior, in that pressing it links to our login page, but with a redirect back to our download overview page after login (Example: https://www.anybodytech.com/my-account/?redirect_to=/resources/customer-downloads/)
The question is, if something like this is also possible for the links in the table (labeled “AnyBody Modeling System (64-bit version)”) directly to the download packages. Pressing one of these when not logged in just links to our login page like this:
But we would have liked that it instead also put in a redirect argument in the URL like this:
But I have not found any settings where I can specify this, so I’m asking if it is possible?
I would expect that this should be somehow defined for the download packages and not the table itself, as the link directly to a download package could also appear elsewhere, and should also trigger a login-and-redirect-back if necessary.
Hello kathecitas,
I have checked that, the download is working properly here. Can you please elaborate more on your issue?

if possible, you can also share the related link. please let me know then.
Thank you and regards

When I try it, I have on the first popup :

Please install the latest version to fix the issue.
You can download it here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases
You can also check in your order details page if the license key is linked to another domain. In that case, just unlock the key ( you’ll see the option in popup ) from there and save the key in current site.
Hi there, how can I change the template used inside each category folder (WPDM directory add-on)? On the demo page (first section of folders on https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/), when I click on ‘Free downloads – explore’, I see this (https://try.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/free-downloads/). On my site, I see this when clicking ‘explore’: https://ibb.co/bPCvdTv
The items inside the category show as plain links. Ideally I want them to show as an icon, title and a download button, roughly like this: https://ibb.co/z409jMF
How can I change the template for what shows inside the category folder?
Hello @tristant,
Thank you for the clarification.
Based on the scenario, you can follow the below steps.
1. Set When a user is not allowed to download as Hide Everything
. Here’s the reference screenshot: https://prnt.sc/j5K1gwpmy382
2. Set category access accordingly in the Category section by following this: https://prnt.sc/U4eCCOERkHxK
Also, ensure that the Package access setting is empty here: https://prnt.sc/RYFvFPS4MunU.
Example valid shortcode structure: [wpdm_archive button_style="primary" template="link-template-default" category="label-packaging-resource" order_by="post_title" order="ASC" items_per_page=12 cols=1]
Let me know if you have any questions regarding this.
Regards
