I’d like to have my downloads start immediately, and not redirect the user to a ‘Downloads’ intermediary page. Is this possible? So when the user clicks the link generated by the shortcode and the download begins immediately?
Further, is it possible to embed a download shortcode directly from a posting editing page? Or must the shortcode be copied from the downloads page into the post editing page? This would save a lot of time and make the plugin far easier to use.
Thanks for the help!
Topic: Version 2.7.0 – A few issues
Hi,
I have downloaded the upcoming release version 2.7.0 of the wp download manager. I have noticed two issues:
1. I have created 3 test downloads – 2 word docs and 1 x pdf. As I try to create additional downloads, I am unable to assign an icon to the download – I have tried to set it to a variety of different icons and nothing seems to work – It lets me select the icon ok. I then save the download and once I go back to the icon box, nothing is selected.
The strange thing is that the plugin seems to be assigning the icon to the download on the front end – See the attached screenshot. But it does not display the icon and when I open the icons link in another tab it comes up as page not found on my website. I have checked the plugin folder and the icons are definitely in the correct folders…
This issue is prevalent on both a live test website and also on a localhost install as well.
2. Password protected file popup box – When you have enabled a password on a file and click on the link in the frontend of the site, a box pops up with field to enter the password. After the entering the password successfully a download button appears and by clicking on it everything works fine. However, the issue is that after successfully downloading the file, the popup remains on the page and there is no way to disable it. Is is possible to automatically disable this box after the download completes or just put a X somewhere on the popup allowing manual closing? See attached screenshot for what I mean.
Thanks. Great plugin.
With version 2.6.3 new files are getting a prefix like “1399979513wpdm_” what i don’t want but even more of a problem, the link gets a double equal sign (“==”) at the end. That causes a click on that download link to return to the homepage instead of downloading the file.
I use shortcodes per download like [wpdm_file id=16 title=”true” ]
What is wrong?Hi!
I’d like to simply include a list of files in a package on a single page with download links the files seperately, and no link to the package page. How do I do this?

Hello,
I have purchased two Download Manager Pro licenses and I would like to ensure that each one is associated with the proper domain. I noticed that when I am viewing “My Orders” and I click on that “domain” link, there is no domain listed for either license.
How do I associate the proper domain with each license?
Should I be concerned?
Please advise, thanks.
Topic: Stuck on version 4.0.7
I have a license for Download Manager Dev, but cannot access the Pro forum so I’d thought I’d try posting here. I have a site that is currently running 4.0.7 and have a notification to update to 4.1.0. However, I there is no update link.
Please advise.
Okay, just purchased this plugin and have played and played with the settings, but can’t seem to make it do what I want it to. I uploaded 2 files in one package, put the same password for each file, changed settings over and over again to see what would work – chose unlimited downloads. Problems:
1) When you click on the Download button, it does not ask for a password, although I’ve set it up to require one.
2) the download said “invalid-link”, downloads a text note that says “Download link is expired or not valid. Please get new download link.” What causes this to happen.
3) When you click on the package link, it takes you to another page and I don’t like the page – it has a side-bar and I’d like it to be full-width… how can I change this to be the correct page look?
4) that same page is entitled “wpdmpro” – can I change that page name? to something like Contractor Downloads? Here’s the site page where I am testing this plugin: http://rab-1.com/contractors/
Help? Thank you!
