I purchased WP download Manager today and I have a problem with titles of documents. On widget latest documents, I Have full file’s name display. But If I click on a document name or on the category link to see list of files, files’names are shorten. A visitor cannot read a file full name.
Please see link http://www.cassavaweed.org/knowledge-repository/publications/
I do not see any setting to change it.
In addition, hoew can I hide download link and only leave file name link? Can I hide stats? Please help me, this is an urgent project. Thanks
Hi Shaon,
I received a notice about security vulnerabilities in the 4.1.7 version I’m using but I’m not sure how to update to version 4.1.8. There is nothing in my downloads to suggest updating. Do I update through my WordPress admin section for plugins? The last time I checked, there was no direct link for updating.
Thank you,
Cylinda
crochetmemories.com/blogTopic: Error after subscription
Dear all,
I’m using the template “link template embedded” for people to sign up. Everything works, so also the confirmation mail and the download, but after clicking the sign up button there is a white screen that says
{“error”:”<div class=\”alert alert-success\”>Download link sent to your email!<\/div>”,”downloadurl”:””}
Do you have any idea to how to solve this error?
Thanks so much!
HubertusIt appears I can no longer link my download to a file in a folder outside of the WP environment (with the new version.) I link to directories in the root. This has worked beautifully until the big new version. I’ve now reverted to an older version to continue this. Is it not possible with the new version?
(Sorry – I tried to find reference to this in the forum, but did not.)
Topic: Plugin: WPDM – Image Button
First up – WOW. This plugin has come a long way since I used it last, and it is fantastic! If I ever need to offer paid downloads, this will be my first stop!
I’m having trouble with the free Image Button plugin. When it isn’t enabled, I of course get the text “Download” link. When I enable it, that link gets replaced with a BROKEN image. Check it out here:
http://www.littlesproutslearningcenter.net/enroll-today/Any idea where I went wrong? I downloaded the plugin and uploaded it using the WordPress admin area. Thanks!
Good morning, just updated to v4.1.8 and I’m not able to create new downloads. When i create a new doc I am able to attach files, icons, templates, etc. But when i click on publish the content of the doc is blank. It saves with the title only but loses attached file, template settings and shows a blank page. It then renders on the page with an access denied link and no attachment found.
I’ve deleted the plugin, downloaded it again and reinstalled it. All add-ons were disabled before installing 4.1.8 and had no issues before updating. Have added no new plugins or had any site changes prior to the update.
Can you please help?
Thank youhello sir,
The Plugin so useful to us bt i have a problem that i want to open uploaded document in new tab when i click on link of document.
please solve my problem. My host just updated Download Manager for me due to a security problem. The new version does not work, and the links are very ugly, as reported days ago. Clicking on a link, this message comes up: “Wuup_QRf.pdf.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.”
I might have moved on to the Pro version if there was any sign it works, but if the free “light” version has ugly links, and the download isn’t accessible, how do I know the full version is any better?
I have a website using Free Download Manager. I have links to my documents placed in my theme. After 2.7.5 update, those links just redirect to home page and don’t download a file. Also tried V 2.7.6 but the same problem existed. I’m at version 2.6.9. I haven’t tried the version in between. What could be going on?
Hi,
I’m in the process of building a site using Paid Memberships Pro to restrict access to members only pages and would like to use WP Download Manager to manage the files available on the paid members only restricted pages. This is genrally working well apart from the fact that WP Download Manager creates pages that are accessible if you know the URL to the page for each specific download.
Is there any way that these individually generated pages can either be restricted or removed so only pages that I have set up and inserted the relevant shortcodes in to display the available downloads for a particular category are available to the end user?
If I set access to the download to be restricted to Administator (or an alternative) then access to the download link disappears on my custom pages. I can’t set access to be based on the ‘Customer’ user group as membership expires after 12 months but the user would still be classed as a customer and have access to the individual file pages.
I hope this makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated as this seems like the perfect WP plug-in to handle the files if I can overcome this issue.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Paul C
Hi
1. I have entered a custom login link in the settings box (custom login message) – for member only downloads. When the page is displayed, link is broken link:
Please login to access downloadables
2. How do I access the download link directly? I want to create my own download box, but I cannot find how to generate the correct link without hardcoding it. So I want to do this in PHP so is there a function or some way to get hold of that link?

Topic: Link Expired Error
Since the update I’m getting many many many users saying that they get a “link expired” error after they enter the password for the downloads. Several a day. Any suggestions?
