I’m late to the game and discovered that the system changed when a user told me the download files are not available.

I migrated to 2.7.5 and used settings to update. I am in the free version.

All my pages that once had [wpdm_file id=xx] no longer show download links.

Do I have to manually change the all the links to the new code?

    Hi Shaon,

I’m having this same issue with a custom theme. I can’t access the All Files page, its just a white screen. On the web pages I previously created and activated the download button, the download button has disappeared.

I tried accessing your link to the previous version of Download Manager and nothing comes up.

    Thanks,

After adding download links to several posts without problems, it has happened again on this post:

    http://www.globalgrey.co.uk/africa-volume-i-north-africa/

So, a random problem, but one that definitely needs fixing.

I just bought the Pro version of download manager and can’t get it to work. I’ve created packages. I entered the shortcode to a protected page of a woocommerce store using Woocommerce Groups and Subscriptions to protect content for premium members. I have a protected page created that only paid members can access. In addition, I assigned the “premium” protection to the files and entered the shortcode of just one of the files in the page,
and this is what I get .. see attachment
    http://gplexchange.com/images/download.jpg

The file is listed but there is no active link to actually download the file.

Shaon, What do you think? Here’s what my host provider found…

—- Host Provider Message Begins —–
We’ve dug into this further for you and upon extensive investigation I’ve discovered the cause of the issue.

Within the Staging site I tried creating a secondary sub-site for testing by cloning the main site over to a new sub-site. When loading the URL being requested however, everything worked as expected.

The cause of the issue is due to the ‘Link Template’ package being an option within All Packages > Link Template. By moving this item to the Trash, the remaining downloads display without any issues.

I’ve left this as-is on the Live site as I’m unsure of its exact utility in the Production environment, but you can see the effects of this on the Staging environment here: http://cef-wrc-wpengine-com.wrc.staging.wpengine.com/?wpdmtask=get_downloads&category=0

I would recommend reviewing the settings on the ‘Link Template’ page and perhaps adjusting them to different settings to prevent the issue in the future. Upon review, it looks like the package ID may be incorrect, per the contents of the package:

    [wpdm_package id=3096 template="link-template-default-icon"]
    [wpdm_package id=3059 template="link-template-default.php"]

Right now the two package Ids seem inconsistent. I’m unsure if this is intentional, However you may reach out to the Plugin developer directly to see if they’ve accounted for ‘Link Template’ being utilized within the Packages section.

—— Host Provider message ends ——-

Not sure what the package id has to do with archive shortcode when trying to display all in a file list…. Shaon, can you shed some light on this? What’s your take? I still get the “loading” icon on the live site.

    Thanks I will try that.

    Re Question 1:
[wpdm_tree download_link=1] causes this: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wpdm_is_locked() in (…)/plugins/wpdm-extended-shortcodes/wpdm-extended-shortcodes.php on line 455

    Re Question 3:
Which file do I need to modify to change [wpdm_package id="5374"] colour or font size?

[wpdm_tree download_link=1] should work fine, it will go to details page only for password protected files, otherwise download will start on click. If it is not working for you, I need to check it in your installation, please give me a temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply.

    [wpdm_all_packages]
    Yes, you can. filename wpdm-all-downloads.php

Yes, simply need to add css for specific classes as per your need.

    Hi,
i have wpdm 4.1.7 installed with “WPDM Directory Add-on 2.4.1″. I want to create pages with only specific categories displayed. I tried your Example from this page: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/, which is:
    [wpdm-archive button_style=”default” link_template=”link-template-panel” items_per_page=”10″ category=”category-slug” order_by=”field-name” order=”asc|desc”]

As soon as i add the category=”slug” (slug is in my case “warehouse”) parameter, the result in the frontend says: “No download found”. But there are many downloads in this category. So where is the problem? Why are they not showing up?

    thanks!

Up until today, I haven’t had problems with adding a new file to the downloads. This morning, however, I uploaded a file to the download manager and it’s picking up extra code in the link; this is what’s showing: 1417458139wpdm_Free Homespun English Tudor Cowl PDF Pattern.pdf It should only be Free Homespun English Tudor Cowl PDF Pattern. Picking up the digits and wpdm_ is confusing the link resulting in a pop up for people to log in to the admin section of my blog rather than being able to download the PDF file. I’m not sure why this started but can it be fixed? Without the link showing up correctly or a means to edit, there is no reason for the download manager to even be installed.

    Thank you for your help!

I have the current view shown in the previous post and have migrated already. If this is a new view and not just a glitch, I notice there are some things that have changed. The main concern I have is that I do not have the ability to do wpdm_hotlinkid=# anymore and my links now show a box around them with two titles and file size. I can change to one title but I do not want the box or file size. Is there a simple way to fix this? It also does not show my links centered and therefore makes my page look distorted. The ID number for my downloads kept changing as well during the updates so now I have very high numbered ID’s (something like 650-850) instead of my 1-200. Is there a way to fix this or renumber them myself? I have found some information online about direct links but I am looking for something easy and quick to do to fix these issues as the previous version did all these without much effort.

    Hi,

    what a great plugin.

Just a few questions what’s included in free or whether I need to buy the pro version.

    [wpdm_tree download_link=1]
This doesn’t seem to work i.e. no direct download is possible.
    Is there a fix?

    [wpdm_all_packages]
Can I modify the table headings?
I’d like the table to be in German.

    [wpdm_package id="5374"]
Can I modify the output for example change font size and color?

    Many thanks
    Oliver

After updating to (free) 2.7.3 version, adding the “WPDM Extended Short-codes” and “Advanced TinyMCE button” add-ons, I migrated every file and re-attached the categories.
Although the [wpdm_tree] is showing, a structural function has chanced; Clicking on a file, it lookes for a post (hence the important change in the update), but before (<2.7) it had the direct download function.

As refered to in the “WPDM Extended Short-codes” add-on, I tried to use this as a solution: [wpdm_tree download_link=1], but then the category keeps loading.
The theme hasn’t changed, no other changes were made than just updating the Download Manager Free plugin.

Another thing is that I don’t seem to be able to show a specific category.
eg. using [wpdm_tree category=”709″] won’t work, but using the direct name of the category does!

Please help me out. The most important part is the direct download option.

The file you indicated is the one file that I re-setup manually, by uploading it on it’s own, and not using the batch uploader. Please try any of the other available downloads from the following link, as they were uploaded via the batch uploader.

    http://www.conestogoagri.ca/msds

    For example
    Acetic Acid 56 – Download
    Agita – Download
    Antifreeze – Download
    Apprehend – Download
    Armor – Download
    Auto Foam Wash – Download

None of these work. When you click one of the download link, a txt file downloads and says that a the file is not found.

Please let me know how to correct this.

I am using Pro. I want to modify the download_link popup to a) make the form wider, b) change Subscribe to Submit and c) add a new field for Phone. I read all of the other support posts. It appears that you recommend using download_link_extended and changing that in the Link Template. Done that but I need more information. I don’t know how to swap a custom form in for the existing form. I’ve seen a number of people that are using a form that seems to be similar as if there is an optional plug in or a recommended form plugin tool to use. Example is this post http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/change-the-e-mail-lock-label-name-on-pop-up/. I am trying to get where this person is.

But, I am missing the magic.

Was there a resolution to this? I an trying to use the Page and Link Templates with the Pro Version. When I click Preview in the Templates, I also get “No Package Found”. I downloaded the Page Templates Plugin and activated. I think maybe I needed this.

I am using the batch uploader, and have all of the files setup on the website.

However none of the files are linking to the correct directory. They are now downloading a txt file that says the file cannot be found.

I have manually gone into 2 files and re-attached the file. As you can see by the screen capture, the top file is linked correctly, and is downloadable, the bottom is not.

All of the batch added files I added do not have the /var/www/vhosts/conestogoagri.ca/public_html/wp-content/uploads/msds-files directory in front of it.

Can you please advise me on how to correct this problem, so I don’t have to manually add each file.

Icons should be saved and shown properly in front-end, I detected the issue in v2.7.1 and fixed in v2.7.2, if it is not working for you, may you please give me a temporary wp-admin login info to check it in your installation.

For please use http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ for generating short-code, while generating short-code, please use link template = “Default Template with Download Count” to showing download count at front-end.
