[download_url] will work for public downloads only, where you didn’t apply any lock option. [page_link] will generate complete link ( url + title as label ), so you don’t have to use it inside a tag [page_url] should be used as href value for a tag. Anyhow please give me your url to check.
I am using 3.3.8 Pro. The download link uses a unique masterkey in the URL (I like this!). Is there anyway to use that masterkey in the URL in the “View” package URL instead of exposing the package name? If I have a package named ABC123, someone might guess the next package ABC1234 when I don’t want them to.
I would like to have some packages not require any password, but not be easily visible to everyone. I would like to share a fairly random/unique URL to the download page. Is this possible?
Perfect, found it in wpdm.php and your change worked great. Thanks
functions.php or wpdm.php
no, you don’t have to recreate any package.
I am on Version 3.3.8 and don’t have a wpdm-core.php
I assume it is somewhere in functions.php I have to make the change? Will I need to recreate the package for the new URL to be made?
file: wpdm-core.php
line# 117
function name: wpdm_download_url
change site_url to home_url
I dont have this site accessible to the internet yet. Do you know what link I am referring to? If there is a file or something I need to edit, I should be able to handle it if you explain it to me. Thanks
please send a temporary wp-admin login info to support@wpdownloadmanager.com
Thanks shaon,
My idea is i upload file to mediafire and share that link to my app page (product page)
So may be have one or more version of apps (mobile apps like ios, apk android).
I want when download visitor can choose link download old version, new version
looks like you are using old version of user review add-on, please download again to get the latest version (1.1.0). that will looks ok.
Checking overlap issue, will update theme by tomorrow, please send a temporary wp-admin login info to support@wpdownloadmanager.com to get an early update, on need.
“So, finally, i usualy use link from Mediafire and i want display more than 1 link with attributes per link in my product page” <-- not clear, may you please explain it little more.
i tried to install the 4.0.0 rc2 version:
i don’t see the download link (shortcode in page does not work), but the download page works.
In admin pannel to “All Packeges” I do not see the id of the package.
Thanks for the quick response!
it is a css conflict with your theme, pleas use link template extended and page template extended, but i think it will be better to install wpdm pro v4.0.0.rc2, rather then wpdm pro v3.3.8.
Thank you Shaon – I tried the method you suggested without success. I’m not entirely sure about the Link template or how to go about it.
So I’m having a couple of (what I consider) major issue after activating the PRO version
The main homepage of my site disappears and It’s replaced with a RSS / Login screen.
The table which the DL links resides, absolutely messes up. Due to the Link label asking to login before downloading
The site is live (greenxled.cn/downloads), so I decided to go back to the FREE version for the time being until I can sort these issues out first. The free version seems to work seamlessly after activation, OK without the added features of PRO. So why is the PRO version so temperamental requiring all these changes?
I purchased PRO for the added features – So any help in making this work right would be appreciated
You lost me on this one? How would I replicate this page in version 4
http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/style-2/
I couldn’t fine the link template panel you mentioned.
please create a link template using only tag [download_link] and assign the link template with short-code or to the package, and use this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-image-button/ to change download link image
So do you do you migrate files BEFORE or AFTER activating 4.0?? still getting 500 error for download pages even though I changed my permalinks..
I had a custom permalink, I changed it to postname, the change worked but download pages are still coming up with a 500 error..
do you migrate files BEFORE or AFTER activating 4.0??
[wpdm_package id=1 download_link]
from 1 to 10 000
Easy to use in csv import in articles, pages or products.

Hi,
another question: I want to create download-packages, that only specific users can see, when they are logged in.
I have wpdm-pro and the “custom-access-level”-plugin. In the settings of wpdm at “When user is not alowed to download:” i selected “Hide everything”. But as well es not logged in users and other logged in users do see the download-package and a link “log in”. So whats the problem?
Hello,
I am running version 3.3.8 of download manager on WordPress 3.8. Everything seemed to be okay when we tested it. Now we have launched the site and I see an issue. I have a page that lists the files by category. If I click on the download link, the files will download. But if I click on the package name to see the files in the package, I just get a blank page. I have the WPDM Archive Page plugin installed (version 1.7.0) and active.
How does that work? The downloads page uses the permalink structure in the settings, so it is not using a page template. For examples site.com/downloads/category-name. It looks like it is displaying the code in archives.php, however, the download information is not available there.
create a link tmeplate with tag [download_link] only and use the link template with package short-code, that will render only download link, example
post contents here [wpdm_package id="pid" template="tmeplate-id"] other contents..
1) please give me your url to check, anyhow it could happen if /download-manager/cache/ dir is not writable.
2) Prettify button will not work with wpdm v4, please use [download_link] tag only and image button add-on to replace button link label with a pretty download image
3) hmm, not short-cut for that :(, anyhow you may remove other templates from template dir.
I want to be able to link to a download from post content using the WP built-in link tool. So, if I highlight “Download” in the post content, I’d like to be able to create a link from that text to the download directly rather than having to go to a page where the download link displays.
Possible?
The Download Manager Settings.
Minimum User Access Level: Should be showing “Administrator” There are some other settings but at the end there is a “Save” button and a “Back” link. I had clicked on the back link.
I clicked the “Save” button and I then had access again to “Manage Page”.
Hope that helps.
