    Hi,

I have been using the free version of WP Download manager on http://designercandies.net

I like the simple download button with counter.

I’ve just installed the Business Pro version on http://flyerheroes.com test site and I can’t figure out how to add download buttons.

Instead it’s inserting a link that sends people to a flyerheroes.com/download/item-name page where they can click download.

How do I not use this and instead just have a download button?

I upgraded to 4.05 following the instruction on your page this morning. I have lost almost every download packages ai had created in the past and the short code links on my site have all disappear. Any solutions? I am unable to upload new files from my pc either to create replacement packages.

So it looks like the problem lies with either Events Manager or WP Super Cache. I’m not sure how to turn those plugins off just for Download Manager download links?

<a href="[download_link]"> is wrong, as [download_link] will generate complete link, but [download_url] can generate directly download url to public packages. got me?

sorry, you can’t change page template globally, need to page template editing specific page, but another way is edit the file /plugins/download-manager/templates/page-template-1col-ex-autdio.php or create a page template single-wpdmpro.php in your theme dir, but if you want to add download link in archive page you need to create custom archive page template archive-wpdmcategory.php in your theme dir, anyhow those are related to theme development.

    thanks.

What I would like is shortcode to add the category link – as in for the link template – like this :

    <a href="[download_link]">[icon] </a> <strong><a href="[download_link]">[title]</a> <strong>[description] <a href="[download_cat_link]">Download more [download_cat_title]</a>

I previously posted this question, but never got a response, so I’m posting it again…

I have version 4.0.5 installed. When I do a site search for a file (package) and I’m presented with the results, I click on the link, Download Manager Pro uses the “Single Column, Extended AudioPack” Page Template to display the results (the package). How can I change this GLOBALLY? I would like for the file to just open when a user clicks on the search results link. If this cannot be achieved, how can I at least get Download Manager to open my custom template?

I understand that I can manually go into the properties of each package and set the Page Template, but I have over 350 files (packages) and this would take forever. Is there a way to Globally set the default Paget Template to my own custom Page Template? There must be a way to edit a configuration file so that it calls the custom Page Template I created.

    Thanks!

    Charles

I have an urgent problem with plugin Download Manager Pro.
Download file is incomplete and can not be opened.

If the same file I try to download it directly from the server, it works without any problem.
    Link to the original file:
    http://www.microerp.ro/wp-content/uploads/dnld/MicroRestaurantSetup.exe
Link to the file that incomplete downloads with Download Manager Pro:

Thanks and congratulations for your hard work on this plugin.

    Hi,

    I upgraded yesterday from v388 to v405.

I’ve done the migration and I’ve gone through the pages where downloads appear and changed their ID numbers to the v405 numbers.

I’ve downloaded and activated all the new add-ons such as image buttons.

But I still can’t get the download links to appear on the pages. I just get a blank space where the link should be.

When I go into Downloads – Templates and click on preview for any link or page template the preview box appears but it’s blank.

I’ve obviously missed something in the settings somewhere but I’ve spent 12 hours working on this now and am going round in circles.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    🙂

    Thanks Shaon

I see all the options there now. However when I paste the shortcode into my page after selecting the “button template” I get a default “Download” text link and not the button. Shortcode is [wpdm_package id='353'] and page shows “Download”. Image attached.

ok, create a link template only using the tag [download_link] and you may also check this http://newlook.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/prettify-your-download-link/

sorry for delay, somehow I missed this post.
    1) extended docs coming soon, until then please let me know for any query
    2) I see you already resolved it
    3) yes, simply need to create a link template, anyhow send wp-admin login info to support@wpdownloadmanager.com, then will create one for you.
    4) no easy way, need to edit code in functions.php, but you can use short-codes like here http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/more-short-codes/

@tomheard, please unzip it first, there you will see 3 zips, install download-manager-4.0.5.zip , anyhow you also can download it directly from order page, there you will see individual download link next to each file

    #12572

you simply need to use [download_link] with link template for direct link to download. ex:

    <h3>[title]</h3>
    <p>[excerpt_100]</p>
    [download_link]

http://newlook.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/link-template/ here it is , there [page_url] used to link with details page, but if you use [download_url] there, it will start download immediately, but [download_url] will only work for the public packages where no lock option applied, otherwise need to use [download_link] instead of <a href="[download_url]">label</a>

I’m using a plugin to password protect a page with with some downloads. I have the pdf file url covered; the plugin masks that file so if you put the url in the browser ( i.e. http://mysite.com/alpha/download/myfile.pdf) it won’t download.

BUT when I put this in the browser url — http://mysite.com/alpha/download/myfile/
    — I get a page like the attached where I can download. I don’t want these pages.

What code do I need to add and to which template so that there is no detail page, just my download link.?

    go to: Home page
    – my orders
    – click on order #
    – download (single link on far right will download all three files in a zip)

If you succeed in installation let me know. I am getting a failure in installation because “no valid plugins were found”

Last week you helped Rewrite the permalinks.

“We have a custom permalink /blog/post… we would like the downloads to be
    /downloads/ and not /blog/downloads/”

After upgrading to 4.0.5 the fixed got overwritten. Can you help fix it again and
anyway you can tell me how you adjusted it so I can go in and fix it after I do updates?

Email me when you are ready and I’ll give you Temp Access again.

Hi – I have done a rough search on the topic but it’s difficult to articulate exactly what I need in a search string. However, I would like to know if it is possible to present a link on any page that when right clicked the user can just “file save-as” rather than be directed to a download page.

I have seen references to ‘shortcode’ etc but now sure how this works.

    Please can someone advise?
