Hi,
I have a Problem with Email locked downloads. Sometimes when a user enters the email the download starts but not the file. It is a textdocument that says “Download link is expired. Please get new download link.” Same with the link in email. I have not set a limit to the file. How come?! Can I solve this
Up until I updated the archive page yesterday I was able to search & sort downloads no problem. Now the controls are all dead and not working at all. Could you please take a look, the page is here http://pielink.net/the-library-2/
I’ll add login in a private reply
I installed the add on and i put the downloadable files in the packages. I did this with box.
It worked fine, but if somebody wants to downlaod that packages (from box) they get this
The link you’re trying to access can’t be used to share files. Please ask the file owner to provide you with a shared link instead.
Any idea how to fix this? I didnt change a thing in box. I know that if i place a shared url, my users getting a preview which they can download. And thats not what i want. Because i have to go to box.com select the share and paste the url.
i found this on the forum:
same problem?
Download pro 4.1
On adding categories to DWDMP, I discovered that using the same names for download categories as post categories uses the same category for both. So that if we later change the DWMP category name it changes the post category name of the same name screwing up permalinks and causing post pages to go missing.
I expected that DWMP categories to be unique but it seems not. Its inconvenient because the download category creation is in a different place from Post category creation so one has to jump back and forth to find out whether one has already used that category name.
Also when creating a menu, there are two tabs called categories so an unwary user can easily select from the wrong categories to add to the menu. Most plugins seem add the name of the plugin to the category tab, so you would see categories and Download Manager categories
Is this a correct assessment or am I missing something.
Hi,
WordPress – 4.1.1
Download Manager Pro – 4.2.1
WPDM – Default Values – 1.2.0
Last Updated – We recently upgraded both plugins on April 4.
Our IE8 users are unable to download individual files or zipped packages in our production environment. Users receive the error in the attached screenshot. I can successfully reproduce the issue on multiple machines.
I can successfully download a file directly via the uploads folder path – e.g domain.com/wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/file-name.ext.
Downloads in IE8 work in our staging environment with the only difference being – production is https and staging is not.
We have NOT had this issue with the previous or any other version of WPDM in the same sever configuration on the same host.
Steps taken so far:
Checked permissions – folder – 775, files – 644
Disabled/activated WPDM
Disabled/activated WPDM Default Settings
Disabled all other installed plugins individually and tested between reactivating each
Saved permalinks
Cleared the server cache
Note: To resolve and get production working again I had to roll back to version 4.1.8.
Thank you for your attention,
Mike Wilson
hello, I’ve bought Download Manager Pro and the All-add-on package. I use Elegant theme DIVI and as soon as I install Live forms, my theme is badly displayed. The sidebar normally on the right goes to the left. It’s like my screen became less wide.
The header (with page link) is also badly displayed in the same way.
I’m a little bit disappointed because :
– when a download is locked, the pop-up to show the dialog box (password or email) does not work
– when I activate Live forms, my theme is badly displayed (I’ve tried contact form 7 and there is no such issue)
– I asked by email before to order if there was some known issue with my theme, the reply was “No known issues there” but once registered I can read : http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/download-link-on-category-page-doesnt-work/
Please can you take a look into these issues. Thanks
I have the User Access Level plugin installed and i have set the access level to a specific roll for one package, see pvt link below.
I also have the “Hide Everything” setting enabled, BUT i still see the package available for download with the link and all…it gives me a permission denied.txt file, BUT i have the hide everything enabled so it should hide that package, no?
Hi,
I can’t seem to change link template on my packages when changing “Link Template” in “Package Settings”. I’ve tried changing to both preset link templates and ones I’ve created myself. Changing Page Template works fine. All that shows is the table with the “File Title” and download button, which I suppose is the default.
I’m new to wpdm, but an experienced WordPress developer. I develop on localhost, and use a custom theme.
Thanks
Thomas
