I am experiencing a settings problem at Downloads Settings Frontend Category Page Options
My settings got “stuck”. No matter what changes I make to the Basic Style display (and yes, I’m clicking “save”) it reverts back to the last style. I can switch to the Link Style, but when I go back to Basic Style, I still have my last used settings which can’t be changed.
Before I messed with this section, on the Category Page, I had the featured image, the title of the download (linked to the download itself), and the (truncated) description. Then I noticed this section of settings (which, by default, had neither Basic nor Link style toggled on) and started trying things….now I can’t get back to how it was.
I can only toggle between the two options (Use Basic Style or Use Link Template) — which would be fine, as the Basic Style with everything unchecked seems to have been the default. However, it’s not working as I would expect. I would expect to be able to uncheck all the boxes, and have all those items not displayed.
1) I can’t ever uncheck all the boxes in Basic Style. Whatever “last box” I had checked, it stays checked, even if I uncheck it and save settings.
2) If I select “Download Link” I just get the word “Download” in plain text — it’s not linked. But a download button (linked) does display, which is redundant.
I hope you can help me resolve this. If you need access to review my settings I can provide it.
I just purchased WordPress Download manager pro and I was a previous user of “WordPress Download Monitor” and “Email Before Download” I have several documents where I ask for Company in addition to name and email before download. An example of my current use can be found at http://www.avfx.com/venuemenu/ . I have a few questions related to replicating this functionality with your product:
1. In your “lock Option” it appears that I can only ask for Name and Email address – is there a way to add Company as well?
2 . In the package settings I have “Link Template Embedded” selected as the Link Template. In the attached pdf I am showing where it says “Subscribe to download” and there is a green button that says “Subscribe” I do not want to use the words Subscribe – how do I change this? I did look at the Link Template Embedded template, but there did not seem to be any place to change this even if I tried cloning this template.
3. Also shown in the attached pdf is the email message that was sent to me when I completed the Lock Out form. I found the email templates in the subscribers area. How do I change the color of the email template to match my branding?

Hi,
All the pages that WPDM should create result in 404 errors. Even the shortcode [wpdm_user_dashbord] doesn’t work. I have the latest wordpress and latest download manager pro versions. Links to individual downloads do work. My wordpress is currently installed in a sub folder on my server because it’s in the development stage.
I’ve been going through all the settings but I must be missing something.. Help please!

I have loaded WPDM and the accordian add-on. I’ve added some downloads and am using the shortcode [wpdm-accordian] to output on the download page. The accordian opens, however the link template does not show properly. All it shows when the accordian opens is “link-template-panel.php”, see attached.

It seems like you can download as many times as you want because, even though if user clicks on download link multiple times in single session it counts as one.

In that case you don’t need to use any short-code in homepage, just use an image with the download page link , however, please give me a temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply if you want me to do that for you.

I just tested this package http://bienestar.movimientointeligente.com/download/clase-de-regalo-abrazandote-a-ti-mismo/ , got it working fine.
- The limit was 1 download/user
- Message was showing expired as probably it was downloaded once already from the account “alejandra”
- Now I set limit 2 dl/user and download link is visible again now.
I am also curious how I can not show the download link instead of the registration form for logged in users. We just end up wth a random link on the page. Thanks!
Hi Shaon, I’ve bought the FULL ADD-On pack, with PDF stamper.
I installed it, and tested it from within wordpress – did save my file as a draft.
And yes, my email address was stamped on the document when I downloaded it.
But when I publish the page, and then when I download the PDF from another browser as a regular visitor,
with the ‘Lock Option – Enable Email Lock’ on, then the email I enter was not imprinted on the PDF file.
Only the the text – The buyer\’s email address without any email or other info.
Is it possible to link the PDF stamper to the input info of the ‘Email Lock Feature’?
Or is it possible to link the PDF stamper to the input field of the ‘Form Lock’ Feature?
Or does the PDF stamper only works when the specific user has a ‘role’, as in any kind of membership site?

Thanks! I removed the line of code and now it works. I’m posting another quick question on the login/register box. I don’t want to show the download link on the front page when people are logged in. I just want to say, already a member, click here and access all the great stuff )blah blah etc etc. on one half the page and on the other show the login/register WPDM has for non-members. I don’t mind that registered users will still see that as I can build something that says welcome so and so. I just don’t want the box to disappear and the user to see a download link to nothing.

How do I control the content of the page for the detail presentation of a file download?
For example, on your demo page, I can click a link to download a link directly, without going first to a detail page, or I can click the title of the link and go to a detail page like this: http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-package/lock-test/
On my website, the detail page defaults to a blog page, and inherits sidebars etc that I don’t want in the downloads section. How do I specify that the detail link clicks through to a Page I have already created which is not a blog post page?
Yes, you can do that, in verse theme, only download link should be disabled when user doesn’t have access.

Yes, for “locked” packages in archive page, there may cause some js issue because of theme or active plugin, in such case, you need to remove [download_link] tag from the link template you are using for archive page, users will be able to download from details page without any such trouble.
Actually, user will see download link as soon as they submit form, they only will need to token to communicate further, otherwise, they can ignore it. However, you can mention it in email message.
Thank you. But I don’t want the email to have a token code for access. That will be too difficult for the user. What are my other options? Can the email just have a download button or link?

In fact, on the document page you can see the actual creation date (http://www.alessandro-ditrapani.it/blog/download/first-pdf/).
Would need the actual creation date to be displayed in the table and not the current date. These documents were inserted using the latest plugin version 2.8.3

the condition is , while we login with website administor a/c. those download button with password is workable.
but while i log out , just as a visitor downloading it, the link only get that file ” link-expired.txt”
so pls confirm
1. whether u has been log out , as a visitor then try that download.
2. we has suffer that download button ,sometime is workable, if we repeat download , also will get file “link-expired.txt”
