Hello, I’ve searched everywhere in this forum for an answer and can’t seem to find one. Saw posts from April 2018 about a new [product_preview] tag to add to link templates that is supposed to automatically generate a thumbnail from an attached download. In my case I need it for PDF files. Is this working and if so, how/where do I add the tag? I tried adding the tag to a custom link template but it just showed the tag text, no thumbnail. Thank you for your prompt response.

It is possible to use Password lock without Bootstrap JS and CSS. You have to use a template with
[download_link_extended]template tag. This tag uses an embedded lock form instead of a modal. But deactivating Bootstrap CSS will affect your page template style. So, you have to handle the custom template styling on your own.Dear Sirs and Madames,
Unfortunately I have massive problems with the “WordPress Download Manager”.
To get back support, I have transferred 39 € by PayPal. Now I am again in my area on their homepage, the switch “get to License key” displayed. If I click on the switch, a window opens with the license number and the wrong domain “feg2.schrader-erf.de” The domain must be correct: feg-erfurt.de How can the domain be changed? I always get an error message when I enter the license number on my homepage.
And then there is a big problem. I have made an update to version 5.0.3 of WordPress. Now the Download Manager is no longer displayed – see here: https://www.feg-erfurt.de/predigten/. Here is a link how the page would look like: http://www.feg2.schrader-erf.de/predigten/

Please send me the CSV file and temporary wp-admin login info in private reply. You can send me a download link for the CSV file as it seems upload failed for your attached CSV.
I have purchased the add-on that allows for e-mail lock, and I have been able to receive the generated download link. However, I do not know where I can go as an administrator to see the e-mail addresses which have downloaded the package. If I go to the stats page, I get an IP address as the “user” who downloaded the package. That’s not very helpful. I’d rather have the email address since email lock was enabled.
Can I get an e-mail sent to an admin of the site whenever someone has downloaded a package? I don’t want to add them to something like mailchimp.
I just want a notification via email that a package has been downloaded and the associated e-mail address which downloaded it. How can I get this?

We have been using Download Manager Pro on a client website since 2016:
– The WordPress theme is custom built and does not include Bootstrap.
– We disabled Bootstrap JS/CSS in the Download Manager Settings (because we want our own styles).
– We use a custom Download Manager page template: [file_list] and [download_link_extended]In version 4.6 everything worked fine. On the downloads page (in the frontend) you entered the password, clicked on the download link and the browser dialog (“Save file as …”) opened.
Since version 4.7 our frontend is broken. When you click on a download link, a Bootstrap modal window (invoked by download-manager/assets/js/front.js) is opened. But as mentioned above, we disabled Bootstrap JS/CSS, so the modal doesn’t work correctly.
My Questions:
1. Is it no longer possible to use Download Manager without Bootstrap?
2. Is there a way to disable the modal?Thanks a lot.
KarlWhen using download manager with WPML (translated documents for download) and email lock (email download link to an email address) the resolved link becomes https://mydomain/?lang=fr#unlock which is non-existing translation and brings the user back to homepage.
Any workaround??

Our setup is using the FTP add-on to link files in packages.
After updating both WPDM (4.7.7 to 4.9.0) and WordPress (4.9.9 to 5.0.3) we are experiencing some download problems.Since doing those updated when clicking any file’s download button we get a txt file “download error” that specifies a URL that was not retrievable. It seems like the file ID get’s inserted into the URL? Something like this: http://ftp.example/5b28a0e884de9-filename-example.pdf
I believe that before this ID was not inserted into the URL.I have reverted to a backup for now, any idea what might be causing this?

You can replace the
[download_link]tag in link or page template with the following code to open download in a new tab,<a class="btn btn-primary" target="_blank" href="[download_url]">[link_label]</a>Where are you trying to change the download button behavior? Is it in all downloads table or in package shortcodes? The solution will work for shortcodes or package details page.
Topic: TCPDF ERROR: [Image]
Hi, great plugin. Thank you for your job! Unfortunately I’ve a little problem.
Inserting in a post (both new or existing yet) the code: [wpdm_package id=' 12345' template ='link-template-default-wdc']
I receive the following error when I trie to publish the post.

TCPDF ERROR: [Image] Unable to get the size of the image: http://www.itinerari-mtb.it/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/assets/file-type-icons/download_drive.png
”
Saving the post as draft I do not receive the error. Any case, trying to go back with browser tab, post is correctly saved with the required content and the view is ok.
How can I solve the problem ? I’m running ver. 2.9.86 with wordpress 4.9.9.

Update 26/01/19. I’m running plugin for pdf post creation. I realize that problem refers to page where pdf creation is on. I’ve not received this error before and pdf plugin was not updated recently. I updated yesterday WP Download manager to the latest version.

Could you let me know the answers to the following ( let me know if free version + download notification can accomplishes these:
1)I do not require people to login or register on my site to download load files…just come to website find the file…then click download?
2) I would like to lock the download link, collected Name, Telephone and Email of Visitor (maybe connect to MailChimp) or I can download subscribers list in Dash – then give them access to file download link??
3) Is it possible to send file download notification to 3 or 4 different email addresses?

Do you mean opens the file in the browser? You can uncheck the “Open in Browser” option from Settings Basic File Download panel to download the file instead of opening it on the browser.
If you are referring to the opening of package details page, then just remove the
[page_link]or[page_url]tag from your link template.Please send me a link to understand the situation better in case I missed something.
Use
templateto define link template in category shortcode. Maybe you are usinglink_template. Removing[download_link]tag from your link template should remove the download button. From your template code, I see that you have already done it. So, it must be the shortcode parameter issue.However, send temporary wp-admin login info in private reply if you want me to check the issue there. You can use the WPDM TinyMCE button add-on to insert the shortcode easily.

I would like to change the text of the “Download” button to “View PDF” (screen shot attached) when using a short code code. How can i do this?
“Is it possible to have the share option to display a list user to share the file with versus the current options? ” was never answered, and I’ll clarify just to be sure. In the backend under all packages, I click the green arrow to send a share/download link, or if i hit the share button on the front-end a modal pops up and ask me to input email. How can this area display a list of users/user groups be added versus having to manually add email addresses?

If you want more extensive download archive with sear and category filtering then I suggest using Archive Page add-on ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/ ) There are many variations of Archive View and you can use link template to control the view of each package there. You have to create the categories and packages. But you can use bulk import ( CSV ) feature. This is faster than manually creating all packages. Create a CSV file where each row represents a package. Your categories, tags etc will be created automatically when importing the CSV. I have attached a sample CSV below.
I’m not sure your tool is exactly what I’m looking for. I have several documents that I want to control their access. If clicking a link on my website, I want to require that individuals register with an email address. Once they do that, they will be taken directly to the document in pdf form, which normally comes with a download button in upper right portion. So, more of a speedbump on their way to document. Once they register, I want the email address to go to a specific list either in mailchimp or mailpoet. Is your plugin right for me?
