I tried what your screenshot showed, and that only gives me a download link for the whole package, not for individual files. The generated link seems to be time-limited, and when I go to it and click “Download” it does not show me the form. So this feature is of no help to me at all.
Yes, we would like a different URL for each file in the same package. I noticed there is a link for each document that I can copy on the Edit page for the package (like this one, for example: https://www.valtris.com?wpdmdl=3801&ind=1734739534750), but when I go to it, it just says I don’t have access to the file. It doesn’t show the form or any way for the user to gain access. So that doesn’t work for us. We want the user to immediately be able to see the download they want. Even an anchor link would be helpful.
So the link I sent you before, https://www.valtris.com/about/corporate-social-responsibility/esg-highlights/, has all of the documents that a user should be able to download once they fill out that form. I set each of those up as its own package so that we could have unique URLs for each file. What we want to have happen is, on that page, when the user clicks “Download”, they fill out the form. After they have filled out the form once, they can click any of the other “Download” buttons to download another document WITHOUT having to fill out the form again.
Or, in other words, if a user downloads the document on https://www.valtris.com/download/supplier-code-of-conduct/, they should also be able to download the document on https://www.valtris.com/download/life-cycle-analysis-esg-highlight/ without filling out the form again.
If the way I set it up does not work, we are open to other options, but we need a solution where:
1. The user only has to fill out the form once.
2. We can have unique URL/link to each document.
So filling the form once only works per package, not per form? When we tested the demo, entering an email address once allowed us to download multiple files. It looked like the Form Lock worked the same way. It is an absolute necessity that users only need to fill out the form once. It would be really irritating for them to have to fill them out each time. We also need a way to link to each of the files individually. It looked like the easiest way to do that was to set each up as its own package. Please let us know how we can configure things so that users only have to fill out the form once and so that we can have URLs for downloading each individual document.
The site URL is https://www.valtris.com/. I shared two URLs related to this issue in the previous post:
This page is set up to email the download link: https://www.valtris.com/download/corporate-sustainability-policy/
This one is not: https://www.valtris.com/download/eccles-esg-highlight/
Hello!
We are trying to use the Form Lock add-on with Gravity Forms. The form shows up correctly when the download link is clicked, but there is no way to download the files afterwards. We would prefer for the download to begin automatically on form submission, but I can’t even get it to send an email with the download link.
Furthermore, I changed the settings so that the form should only show once in a session, but every page I click the Download link on shows me the form. We would like users to only have to fill in the form once.
This page is set up to email the download link: https://www.valtris.com/download/corporate-sustainability-policy/
This one is not: https://www.valtris.com/download/eccles-esg-highlight/
Could you please help me get this configured correctly? This is supposed to go live before the holidays.
Thank you!!!
Thank you very much for your continued support!
I’m currently building a library with approximately 5,000 documents and am trying to create a dynamic, automated Elementor template similar to the one found on the Reqiq Downloads page (https://reqiq.co/downloads/). The template utilizes dynamic tags for fields such as the post title, featured image, post excerpt, and post URL, ensuring it is flexible and reusable across all posts without requiring shortcodes or manual linking with package for each document.
The challenge I’m facing is with the ‘Download’ button. I need it to dynamically link to and trigger the download for the respective file in each post. Currently, templates like the ones used for this (https://reqiq.co/ethiopias-export-future-balancing-reform-and-reality/) and this (https://reqiq.co/insights/) automate most of the UI elements. However, the download functionality has been configured manually by linking each file using a custom field connected to your plugin’s master key links. While this method works, it undermines the scalability and efficiency of using templates.
To summarize, I need a single ‘Download’ button in the Elementor template that automatically downloads the respective file for each post without requiring manual linking. This functionality is essential for maintaining the flexibility and automation of the template.
I hope this explanation clarifies my requirements. Could you please guide me on how to achieve this? Or if the PRO version indeed has this?
Thank you again for your support!
Thank you for responding. But that only shows a pre-made template with the title of the document (linked) and download counts. I’m looking for either just the ‘Download’ button custom key or just the download botton.
Furthermore, all the modules as for ‘Package’ parameters, which is counter intuitive for a custom template, because the idea is the template will fetch the package automatically.

I think you misunderstand my question. I have changed from linking to Mailerlite and I just want the Subscribers in you plugin to tick a box then to be populated by people registering for downloads.
Surely this is the basis of having the Subscriber list as part of your plugin?
The Subsciber section for package email lock, google lock and linkedin lock download users, for more details, you can check the detail here,
Lock Options
Please kindly check and let me know.
Thank you and kind regards

When using the download history and download history on profile links they seem to go to the download page instead of the actual file itself.
For example. If I download image.jpg it will show up in the download history. However if i click on the link to redownload it, it does not redownload image.jpg it takes me to the product page instead. How can this be addressed and fixed.

Hello
I have an issue with the template for the downloads page. I have a template set on the backend but it doesn’t use the one selected and also it shows a Reset Filter issue when I change the shortcode.
I set my custom template to only show the download title and link.
Is this the right shortcode to use?
[wpdm_all_packages login=0 thumb=1 items_per_page="200" categories="A211 May 2024" jstable=1 order_by="field_name" order="ASC" cols="title,file_count,download_count|categories|update_date|download_link"]
This is the broken template page:

Yes, Master Download Link bypasses the restriction and does direct download. Please kindly check and let me know.
Thank you and regards
After further investigation, I have been able to solve this issue, but want to share what I found because it may impact you since these did used to work just fine. This is happening on PDF Viewer previews with both the [doc_preview]
and [pdf_gallery]
shortcodes.
It appears that if the .xlsx file isn’t saved with “view only” permissions, the preview won’t show…it also won’t download or show the preview/download links in the attached files. Instead, I get an error that says “File not found. The URL of the original file is not valid or the document is not publicly accessible. Verify the URL is correct, then contact the document owner” and it links to Microsoft Office help.
Once file permissions are updated, they preview and download fine. Is this completely a file type issue or is there something that can be done on the WPDM side to fix?
So if I understand correctly, a person can access the files if they have the master download link, regardless of login status? I’d really like to make it so non-members cannot access the file at all.
Hello Brendan Parker,
Hope you are well. You are doing Master Download Link, it will do so, it bypasses the restriction and does direct download. You can use [download_link]
template tag for normal restricted downloads of files. Please kindly check and let me know.
Thank you and kind regards
Thanks for clarifying. Please understand the actual accessibility issue though. It is not good enough to just apply the exact same link label text on all of my links either. They have to all be different from each other to comply. This is not accomplished with a single bulk update unless I can use some dynamic shortcode or way to use the document’s title within the label (like “Download {{Post_Title}} file”). Understand?
No with the default value add-on you can bulk apply to download link label to all of your existing 700+ documents. Please kindly check.
Thank you and kind regards
That add-on looks interesting for initial default settings for new or copied downloads, but I already have 700+ documents input so isn’t helpful in this case. This also still does not fix the WCAG accessibility issue (2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context): The purpose of each link can be determined from the link text alone or from the link text together with its programmatically determined link context, except where the purpose of the link would be ambiguous to users in general. (Level A) ). Each download link/label needs to be contextual and different from the others around it. You would need to be able to apply the document title dynamically for this to be a manual solution. Why not just take this as a future suggestion to make your plugin web accessible by default?
For applying bulk renaming to download link label, you can check our this default valu add-on, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-default-values/. Please kindly check.
