You can do that in two ways.

    1. You can use http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/crypton/ theme. Its home page is designed like your desired home page.

    2. You can use http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-extended-short-codes/ add-on. You have to use 3 short-code in this regard. To add slider use [wpdm_slider ids="package,ids,separated,by,comma"] short-code. For popular downloads use following shortcode [wpdm_packages link_template="link-template-panel" order_by="download_count" order="desc" paging="0" items_per_page="10" cols=1 colsphone=1 colspad=1 title="Most Downloaded Packages" desc=""] and for new downloads use [wpdm_packages link_template="link-template-panel" order_by="date" order="desc" paging="0" items_per_page="10" cols=1 colsphone=1 colspad=1 title="New Packages" desc=""] shortcode. You can install http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/ add-on to generate short-code.

    Hi,
    Thanks a lot.

(leaving the file size issue aside, as the file name corruption in the zip file was before this change).

Can you please try to download the Zip file from a Windows based computer? The zip file you sent me works only on Apple.

I tried the downloads from 2 cities in Australia, 4 computers, as well as in Argentina, none gives proper names using Winrar and winzip.

I want to know how come a dynamically generated zip file, generated in the same server, give different file names INSIDE the zip file !

Also, i noticed in many package that when i add a file to an existing package, the total package size does not get updated ever.
(again, this is before my server file size issue, which h is getting fixed now)

    Can you please advise?
    Cheers,
    Atef

I have checked all the areas, protected post types, verified that user roles are accurate and match the credentials for the category AND each item as well as post type. I cannot understand why only some files appear for each user.

There are 4 sections of downloads, based on post type. Admin can see most of post type 1, none of type 2, some of type 3 and most of type 4
Customers, which are the highest user role beside admins can only see most of post type 1, and none of the rest.

“No accessible records found. For more information, please register or login to view more.”

All files have been checked and are uploaded, published, public and available for access.

    HELP!

I am a new to WPDM and had a couple of questions.

    1. Is it possible for users to subscribe to a package and receive updates when it is changed?
    2. I am using this shortcode to display the downloads: [wpdm-all-packages items_per_page="20" jstable=1]
Is is possible to automatically sort these by category instead of file name?

    Thanks!

    HI there,

Following an update my file downloads are no longer working. The files that are on the system before the upgrade are fine but the shortcodes don’t work any more. Usually, you click on the link and you can download the PDF. Now you click on the link and it’s redirecting to Downloadmanager files and notepad.

Could you please let me know how to resolve this? I attach a screenshot which might explain what’s going on.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I just purchased the PRO version.
I made 2 packages. one for a file already on the server, using the “browse” option, with Arabic (utf-8) file name.
The second was a direct upload from my computer, with English file name.

    Both have the same problem.

when i click on the “Download” button, i get a page full of corrupted code, whether i click on the download button in the link template or the page template.

when i try to “right click + save link as” on the button, i don;t get a download link.

please find below links to the posts i inserted the packages in.

also, please find attached screenshots of what i see when i click on the download button:

Please note that I do NOT have caching services active, to ensure that the files are served fresh, for testing purposes.

Please note that i tried this on TWO themes, Avada Child and WP Twenty Fifteen, and both give the same result.

Also, i tried with both Bootstrap active and disabled, both gave the same results.

Can you please advise what shall i do?

I want to sell my downloads.. But is it possible to have all my downloads showing under purchases instead of the order ID like the one in this image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/89tl4uains841uv/Screenshot%202015-05-30%2017.40.17.png?dl=0

    Hi Shaon

I’m having some problems but not sure whether it’s shortcodes or something else.

Prior to updating to the latest version everything worked fine but now most downloads are no longer working – the correct file is being located on the server but returning a 404 error page.

In addition, the [wpdm_tree] and [wpdm_tree category=” “] codes ares no longer working and just keep showing the directory listing (including all categories even with the category=” ” code used) without showing the download packages. I have also been using the wpdm_extended shortcodes plugin for quite some time now so it’s not that causing the problem.

The files are served from the S2Member plugin and not from download manager but the browse path is set to the S2 member_files directory in the download manager settings and has previously worked fine until the recent update.

All 3,000+ files were uploaded using the bulk upload (which also has problems displaying user added icons in the download manager interface although these do show up on the site so not a big problem).

As for the downloads themselves I’ve been using the format a href= “http://btbclient.thebusinesstoolbox.co.uk/?s2member_file_download=ACCIDENT Log.doc” target=”_blank”>Download /a (arrow brackets left out to stop automatic linking on this post) in the LINK_LABEL field
and in the FILES field I’m using the format – /home/jefford2/public_html/btbclient/wp-content/plugins/s2member-files/acquiring commercial property.pdf.

To test the a href link I removed it from one package and it downloaded fine from the DM manager. But the files need to be served from the S2member plugin so I can’t use the download manager for this. And it would take days to change every package to remove the link even if I wanted to go down that route. The problem appears to be with the link label here.

So apart from the wpdm_tree and category shortcodes not working, the link label is also not working for an a href link.
I have also tried clearing the download manager cache but this has had no effect can you help please?

In addition to my post above – the [wpdm_tree category=””] is not working either and only shows all categories including those outwith the specified category but never gets to the file download level.

As for the downloads themselves I’ve been using the format Download in the LINK_LABEL field
and in the FILES field I’m using the format – /home/jefford2/public_html/btbclient/wp-content/plugins/s2member-files/acquiring commercial property.pdf

All 3,000+ files were uploaded using the bulk upload (which also has problems displaying user added icons in the download manager interface although these do show up on the site).

Having updated all the documents recently I just overwrote the files already stored in the S2member_files folder. All are the correct filenames and extensions etc. so no different from original files and since I have previously overwritten files in this way without problems I don’t think this is an issue.

    Cheers

Yep got the downloads working after I re-uploaded them all. Not sure what happened with all the data that I had already uploaded once?

I will contact WPEngine as they are my hosts and see if I can upgrade the PHP version

    Hi there,

i just experience the same problem, maybe it is based in some Script problems from the main theme or any plugin? I cannot resolve this.

When you click on the Download, same as descriped above happens. A new empty page opens with the address “http://www.xxxxx.de/?wpdmdl=962”

No download popup opens or, when activated, the download also does not open itself in the new page (f. e. .pdf etc…).

What helps is, to reload the page again. Then the popup comes up or the download appears directly on the screen.

I have deactivated the Resumable Downloads and Output Buffering options. My problem remains.

    Please help.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Markus

EDIT: I just deactivated an option in my theme called:

    “Enable djax page loading

Disable this options if you have any problems with the plugin loading or performance.”

… and things are running… Any interest in further investigation in this topic so that future problems can be avoided? Please just give me a short wink. Thanks.

Just an update – I deactivated the Campaign Monitor plugin and the email lock function is now working properly.

The add-on was causing the issue – however it doesn’t seem to resolve the issue of all the MP3 files being missing from the ‘download-manager-files’ folder!

I am going to re-upload the files as I have people waiting on the downloads. Feel free to login and have a look though!

    Hi Shaon,

Our downloads aren’t working – they are all on email lock, but when a user enters their email address it just freezes saying “processing” and emails with the download link are NOT sent.

    Help!

    Dear Shaon,

I have just started to use Download Manager Pro.
We are now testing it in a demo environment; http://www.ictcentrale.nl/demo/branded/register

We only want to use a couple of simple functions, without too much other hassle:

    – Download documents
    – When user clicks to download, pop-up for the e-mail lock
    – Download link is send to users e-mail

It’s all possible and working, but we like to change the following:

    – When sending the email, we don’t want to show the complete url as done with [download_url]. Is it possible to make “download_url” appearing as a hyperlink? For example an underlined “Click here” with the download_url hidden in that link of course.

    – Is it possible to download immediately, without sending an e-mail? We would like this option for some of the downloads, but still include the e-mail lock.

    – Is it possible to add more required fields to the subscriber form? “company” / “function” ?

    Kind regards,

    Vincent Weening

The site is currently on Joomla and I need it to function similar.

In Phoca download a client logs in to my site and has access to downloads. Some clients have access to files and some don’t have access to all of the files. This is achieved by limiting access to categories that the files are in, to certain groups of people. I separate the users in the groups in the Phoca plugin and each group is given a certain level of accessibility.

So my question is, does your plugin allow me to grant access to multiple people? Can I group them together to give a group of people access to a certain number of files?

    2. User manager roles plugins are not what I need for clients to access files from what I am seeing. Usually “Users” and the plugins that you are talking about pertain to editing stuff in wordpress. I want it like any other membership site would be.

For instance you login to the site. You have a user area (which I create the page for), and a link or nav menu takes you to the download area. The files you can download should be accessible there. Maybe a tab that says my downloads or something.

Either way how do i achieve placing downloadable files only certain users can access with your plugin?

So, how do I upload multiple downloads? I.e. like in this post (http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-package/multi-file-package/)how there are multiple downloads, what var do I use to upload via a custom field? I can upload multiple files manually package by package, but not via a custom field.

What’s the best way to do this?

    Regarding Download Manager Pro.
Can I hide the ‘Downloads’ section for a certain user role (eg Editor) in the dashboard? So I want administrator to be able to see/edit, but hide it for any role below.

I am using the User Role Editor plugin. In here I can add custom capabilities that are called by their name such as “edit_posts”. See attached screen. Does Download Manager have unique names. Or do you have a plugin that can handle that?
