    We’ve been using WPDM for over a year and have loved the plugin. We’ve had no problems with it until yesterday when my client called me and said that the individual PDF files were now downloading as txt files. The package files are fine…this just happens with the PDFs.

    I have verified it and would like to know if there is a fix? Using the latest version of WP and WPDM 3.8.

    But why do you actually need woocommerce if you are not selling physical products? With our membership plugin you can create and sell any type of membership plans ( deffer by access  like days, months, years or downloads like different categories or packages for different plans ),  also you can control regular post/page access using  our membership plugin, however for “the gateway through bank transfer”, which payment gateway are you suing now or it is just like manual offline payment?

    But don’t worry, I think, I can’t setup everything as you requirements only using wpdm pro and other add-on from us.

    Ok, I want to know each time somebody downloads one plug-in or more, because I want to send to him a quote for all the plug-ins he downloaded.

    Moreover does your package offers members management?! which add-on does it?

    Does your package offers cart management because I don’t want to force my visitors to fill a form each time he downloads something. I want them to create an account or register and allow them to download each plug-in.

    the page is visited 821 times and the package is downloaded 4618 times.

    can you please explain the steps to get the link? (taking into account that users are not expert in wordpress+wpdm)

     

    Moreover, I am on a dedicated server and have bandwidth monitors. when a link for a pdf that is 73MB is visited 20,000 times in one night, I would expect a spike in the bandwidth, which did not happen.

    Can you please comment on these 2 points? as i am definite it is not genuine downloads. buying an extension to restore a normal functionality seems unfair, espcially that i am definite that there is no hotlinking that is happening on all my links at the same time.

    Hi,

    I bought the pro version of download manager and I try one problem with the users access to downloads. I allow access to download files for admin ands subscribers in a single file and settings but this roles can’t view the link because haven’t access ( they can read ‘Access Denied’ in the button ). I don’t know what is the problem because Administrator for example have all the capabilities and can’t access to download. In sinlge edit I can’t add users to allow access line. I need help with this, thanks 🙂

    I use Avada 3.8.6, WPDM 4.3.0

    In my download section

    I added the shortcodes for all  downloads manually:

    [wpdm_package id='3767']

    [wpdm_package id='5163']

    [wpdm_package id='6527']

    [wpdm_package id='6646']

    [wpdm_package id='6651']

    [wpdm_package id='6667']

    Starting with the fourth item, each download displayed is “shifted” to the left. The happens regardless from the packgage listet. I tested this with placing 6 times the same package id in a test installation:

    Is there a shortcode to list all my offered downloads on a page?

    Currently, I add manually the shortcode for a new package on the download section my site.
    I would love to have a shortcode which is placed only one time and I do not have to touch  my download section again. Then, when I add new downloads in the WPDM dashboard, my download section shows all the downloads inclusive the new one.

    Hi guys,

    we have bought the pro version of WPDM and we have some trouble.
    We cannot hide complete categories or groups of downloads depending on the user that is logged in.

    If we try to hide categories depending on the user group they will still be shown in the frontend even if we login with a user that is not allowed to see this category.

    Can anyone you help us out?
    Wen need this to finish our project.

    If you want to show everything to admin, please add administrator role everywhere, I just removed the role for test. However to fix the issue, I actually edited file wpdm-all-downloads.php

    But everyone is seeing files now, because, package access inherits category access. So if you need to select same role for category and package or assign access to either package or category and keep other one empty.

    For example:

    Test Upload For Company B

    Access = Sub-Admin, Company B, Administrator + all access from Category B ( which is = Company A )

    So Both company A and Company B has access to Test Upload For Company B

    ahm_files , wp_ahm_files and wp_ahm_filemeta, all those tabled are deprecated. Now wpdm using custom post type and downloads are stored in wp_posts table.  However if you already imported old downloads, then none of those tables (ahm_files , wp_ahm_files and wp_ahm_filemeta) are necessary anymore.

    …all the downloads are in ahm_files while wp_ahm_files is empty. Where else are the downloads stored ?

    1. Create a dir named download-manager in your active theme dir.
    2. copy wpdm-all-downloads.php from /plugins/download-manager/tpls/ dir to ...active-theme-dir..../download-manager/
    3. Now edit that wpdm-all-downloads.php and remove <?php echo DownloadLink($data, 0, array('popstyle' ► 'popup')); ?>

    When I go through the Stats I see thousands of download of some individual files. 2k or 3k downloads a day of ONE SINGLE FILE is highly unusual on my website.

    After I clicked the number I discovered 90% of the downloads come second after second from just a few particular IPs (180.97.152.8, 180.153.91.186, 180.153.91.176….) But it’s difficult to track down all of them.

    Is there any way I can block a specific IP or just other apps and websites to download from my server (and let only visitors browsing my website downloading)? I need this badly. Because I guess it’s those “free stock photos” aggregator services (websites and apps) which cause this problem. It may happen when these aggregators buffer the images from my server and they download many of them at once, probably even many times.

    Adding captcha or limiting more downloads than 30 for example from the same IP would help a lot. Is it possible to implement a code which would enable such features?

    Hi,

    I had an unrealistic large downloads spike yesterday and my hosting company suspended my website because of CPU overusage.

    I run foodiesfeed.com and provide there food pictures free to download to anyone. Usually I got around 2 or 3k downloads a day.

    However, yesterday and during todays night I had got 100k downloads together even though the traffic was usual which is 950 unique visitors.

    Can you please help me to find out what may cause such huge downloads spike? The Siteground customer service told me to disable the plugin logging IP adresses into database. Is that possible?

    Also, is it possible to block other people downloading from my website then those who are currently browsing it? So pirates can’t right click the download link, copy it and provide it somewher else other than on my website.

    I’m quite misserable.

    Need administrator access, btw, from the url http://extranet.herbert.co.uk/frontend/, what I see is, you didn’t allow any user role to access front-end UI from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Frontend Tab .

    You also need to create all those dirs/categories from Admin Menu Downloads Categories

    Dear All,

    I am trying to get a help here for the very last time. Is anyone able to resolve this issue finally?
    What kind of difficulty prevents you to implement the working LinkedIn lock functionality?
    As said, please check the example: http://www.scalatalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=53  where you see a LinkedIn share button and it works.
    Why cannot be implemented that mechanism here?

    You said already 4 times that this will finally work in the next version… Still doesn’t… 🙁

    Anyhow the number of downloads is not increasing as well… And I am on the latest version of download manager as well as appshop theme.

    Possible to help me?

    Hello,

    On our archive page, (and in the widget ‘most downloaded’ and ‘latest downloads’) I’d like the ‘download’ button to actually take people to the file page rather than act as a direct link to the file itself. How can I change this?

    I updated to the latest version of WP Download Manager today and it broke an existing custom template. Previously I had [download_link] as a link on the file icon but it now shows two textual links instead of the one intended and has a code leak after the icon “>. (see attachment 1)

    For now I’ve replaced the link on the icon to “#” but it would be good if you could have a look and see if I could re-instate the link on the icon so that my templates would look how I want them. (see attachment 2)  The template was as follows:-

    So i have a problem when using my theme.

    All my downloads look like blog posts. ( with comments etc )
    With the old version of download manager i was able to change the template file being used but now i can’t anymore and im wondering how i can change this. 🙂

    2. Will ask for name and email when user click on download link
    3. I see you already linked mail chimp list in wpdm setting, so all subscribers now will be added in Book review list
    4. To send messages to list, you need to setup newsletter in mailchimp, nothing to do in your wp admin
    5. PDF stamper also working fine ( https://www.evernote.com/l/AV3hEgLIn8ZFvZyfN6GUH7wKG5_Ite27EjYB/image.png ), but {fullname} tag will only work for loggedin users
