You can get the direct download link of a file from “Downloads All files” page. Just copy the download button URL as shown in the following screenshot.

I understand that on the package page, the download link takes me to iTunes, but on the page that list all the Add Ons:
On this page, the download button under the Add On name, takes me to the package page. How is that set up?
On my page that list all my downloads, the download buttons always “trigger” the download. How do I get the buttons to just go to the package pages?
We have installed and configured Download Manager. We are able to create the download, but on the front-end of the site we are receiving a 500 error (http://overture.informaticsinc.com/download/test-package/) or the footer does not appear because the page is terminating after the first listing. (http://overture.informaticsinc.com/download/downloads/downloads/)
Thank you.
1 ) WPDM core plugin has 2 options to show all packages.
First one is all packages table
[wpdm-all-packages items_per_page=10 jstable=1 order_by="create_date" order="DESC"]
Second option is packages shortcode
[wpdm_packages template="link-template-bsthumnail.php" order_by="date" order="desc" paging="1" items_per_page="10" title="" desc="" cols=3 colsphone=1 colspad=1]
Install TinyMCE add-on to insert these shortcodes easily.
2 ) Use the second shortcode I wrote above to show all downloads with card template. You can show video in card template by creating a clone of card template and replacing thubmnail tag with video tag [video_player_500]
But there is no option to apply condition there ( i.e. show image or video based on availability )

Hey guys,
I’m struggling to wrap my head around templates, even with your docs. I’m going to lay out here what i am hoping to achieve, in the hope you will tell me exactly what i need to do in order to create that. My requirements are:
1. A central download page where all uses see all downloads available.
2. All files have the same template. Ideally “Card” would be perfect, with the image being swapped out for a video if its a video file, for example.
That’s it. I’ve created my own downloads page, but all of the files look identical, and are in a single list rather than three columns. The video file, as an example I have the following settings telling i want the link template to be card, but that on the downloads page definitely isn’t card, is it?!
Your help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Conor
Use category shortcode to downloads from one or more category. Please check the shortcode documentation here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_category-query-all-downloads-from-one-or-more-categories/
Install TinyMCE add-on, It helps you to insert shortcodes with little effort.
Logout and login again in Downloads Updates tab. Also, make sure you are using latest WPDM 4.7.1
You can also download add-ons manually from add-ons page.
WPDM Image Button
WPDM Page Templates
Please install WPDM v.4.7.1 to fix the “link-expired” issue.
Save your WPDM login info in Downloads Settings Updates Tab to enable plugin update from your admin dashboard.
Or just download the latest version here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/purchases/

Hello,
I need to show all Downloads from a category.
In an earlier version combined with an older WordPress, I could have do it like here:
Before creating new package
But now I find no shortcode for categories.
Could you please help me?
Thank you!
I’m working on a site with well over a thousand documents, many of which will be grouped in packages. Is there any way to add the Download Link to the list of attachments?
I’m using the [premium_file_list] tag in the template and what I’d like included besides the “download” button is a link from [wpdm-download-link]. When they click on the link, they’d be able to see all the details, preview images, etc. of the individual file within the document. Does that make sense? (I already have it set to allow for individual file downloads.)
Thanks!
You are using an old version of Download Manager. Installing updated version should fix the email address issue. Please install the latest version. You can download it here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/purchases/ Let me know if updating doesn’t fix the issue.
Download Notification email sends user’s name when you email lock the package. It worked in my test.

There is no direct add-on/solution for Google tag manager/GA. But you can use various actions to track downloads.
Action reference – https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/action-reference/wpdm_onstart_download/
You can also use .wpdm-download-link
css class to track downloads using JS.
Just put WPDM 4.7.0 Pro on a standard, default WP install (4.8.2). The downloaded file could be directly from the root of the website like “licencse.txt” from the WP installation. I tested on default configuration with no changes made in the WPDM plugin settings other then pasting reCAPTCHA Site Key and reCAPTCHA Secret Key. I created a new package named “test” and for testing purposes I added “lincese.txt” file to it from the site root and I selected “Single Column, Image Top, Extended” for page template.
Result: right after captcha is solved a new download window pops-up with the “link-expired.txt”
I shifted many environment variables [target file, browser, browser caching, package name various plugin download options]
Nothing works.
On some page templates like “Metro Style” the captcha opens in a pop-up. That captcha is not usable. Erorr: reCaptcha service can not be accessed… So please make sure that the captcha lock module is working and also make a simple check of captcha with each link template and page template.
-until now, I achieved the same result on 2 separate hosting environments (both using cPanel on linux)
-the issue is not related with output buffering or resumable downloads options
-the links can be normally downloaded and are valid if the captcha lock is not used, conclusion being that the captcha lock module does not get valid links from the plugin core
-I can not find the previous version, WPDM 4.6.9 Pro to download and test. Please send it to me If you can. Downgrading might be the best solution for me at this point.
One of the main reasons for which I purchased this plugin is its potential ability to combine expiring links with captcha security witch is almost mandatory these days anyways. Unfortunately I experience a whole range of problems with this plugin when I enable captcha security:
-automatically starting the download after captcha is solved (no option to disable this)
-multi-file downloads and many page layouts do not work well or at all with captcha lock enabled
-automatically download expired links after solving captcha challenge
Version: 4.7.0 Pro
Use [wpdm_frontend flaturl=0]
shortcode to create frontend upload page. Only allowed user roles can upload files from the frontend. You can control these roles from Admin Dashboard Downloads Settings Frontend page.
Hi,
We’ve installed and configured the plugin, added some downloads and it worked fine for some time.
Starting this week the pages that contain downloads only show a hash (5970bba80e98a) for each file.
What could be wrong here? We updated the plugin, but this doesn’t help..
by the way: when will the plugin support a network install in multisite setups?
It is possible to get custom data using Form Lock. But there is no way to use a predefined password with form lock.
If you are trying to get user email and trying to lock package with a password, the best option is allowing downloads only to registered users. You will know then who downloaded which package.
Good Morning,
I have times a few screenshots to the problem created.
See screenshot 0-2.
The widget controls no longer as soon as you go deeper into the downloads.
Because all pictures are displayed again.
Thank you
best regards

Well, thanks.
I had to find out about this problem when a user emailed me. Yesterday, I updated the plugin through the update plugin feature, and it turns out it deleted the plugin folder.
No downloads for the last 24 hours.
You could have at least sent an email to all your users that this was happening. I’ve spent the last hour or so checking over my system, reinstalling from a backup and re-testing. Now got to contact my client who may well have had emails about it I don’t know about it.
Mistakes/errors happen. But you should at least have sent out an email to your paying customers to warn them.
Not happy, but better now I’ve vented.
Hi,
You can use “Email Download Link” button from Admin Dashboard Downloads All Packages page.

Thanks.
I updated WordPress and Download Manager to the latest version available and after the updates, the menu for Download Manager is not visible anymore. All my downloads and settings are gone in backend and frontend, there is no menu anymore for the WPDM!? The plugin just disappeared!
What could be the issue here?
