Hello,
I hope this message finds you well and thanks for reaching out.
Are you trying to display a specific category (using the wpdm_category shortcode), or would you like to show a fixed number of downloads from all categories, for example, 5 downloads from Category A and 5 from Category B?
Please let me know.
Regards
Please kindly elaborate on , are you talking about attached files or Downloads > All Files section that individual file you want the previous version prior to update. Please kindly check.
Thank you
Hello jason brown,
Hope you are well. Are you using WPDM free version and are you talking about attached files or Downloads > All Files? Please kindly check and let me know.
Thank you and regards
Yes, id should need match with the existings packages ids, which are on your site Downloads > All Packages. Please kindly check.
Thank you
Does the issue page not found happening for all downloads? Can you please try saving permalink settings again, thus it may flush the settings. Please kindly check.
Thank you
I previously imported download data via Downloads → Import & Export (CSV import).
However, some files were not uploaded to the server at that time.
However, in the admin panel (Downloads → All Packages), the thumbnail images are not showing.
I noticed that if I open each package edit page and manually set the thumbnail image, the image appears in the list — but since there are about 3,000 files, I’d like to avoid doing this manually.
Could you please let me know how I can make the thumbnails appear automatically in the admin list?
Your forum won’t let me upload an image.
Essentially when I try to upload a file to the Amazon S3 (Downloads>Amazon S3), it allows me to select a file. Then the file says “completed successfully. Refreshing…” Then nothing appears in the Amazon S3. I also cannot do it from Downloads>Add New Package.
There should be a 4th tag option under Tags on the left. We added an additional tag, and it is on 2 products but cannot get it to show as a search option. https://www.poweredgeproducts.com/downloads/
We have turned off all plugins to find the issue with no luck. We also tried a default theme which also had no effect.
Here is the shortcode we are using: [wpdm_archive_filter items_per_page=”6″ template=”link-template-tabcard” cols=2 colspad=1 colsphone=1 orderby=”title” order=”asc”]
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It was shortcode issue, not individual downloads. Yes you have to give login=0, if you want to give access to all visitors. Please kindly check and let me know if you have any more queries.
Thank you and regards
Hello friends,
I’d like to know how can I list the latest files from each or selected categories, say the latest 2 files from x and y categories?
I’ve tried looking into these shortcodes for instance, but they only have the option to list the files chronologically in total, not per category.
[wpdm_category] – Query All Downloads From One or More Categories
or
[wpdm_all_packages] – List all downloads in tabular format in a page
or
any other shortcode you suggest.
Thanks a lot
Renato
Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to delete data from a specific year or retain only selected years. However, you can export all your statistics data as a CSV file by navigating to Stats > Downloads History.
Sorry, I explained poorly. I want a new customer to be able to purchase a set of “credits” that allow them 100 downloads (in this case, images). And I *don’t* want those download credits to reset.
In the “Download Limits” add-on, there is a default reset field in addition to role-based reset options. If I leave the default reset field blank…what happens?
I’m trying to offer a role that has credits that last 1 year, and *don’t* reset. But the credits/limits can be used for any “package” / image download.
Hello Andi,
Hope you are well. Yes possible. You can restrict downloads packages from your package edit section Package Settings > Allow Access option. Also please check option from Downloads > Settings > General > Access Settings > When user is not allowed to download:. Please kindly check and let me know.
Thank you and kind regards
Hello, Georg
I hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
You can use the wpdm_packages or wpdm_category shortcode, which comes with a filterable downloads table.
Please check and let me know.

I’ve been running the plugin for several years now, and originally i could select a ‘hidden’ folder, i.e. one above the root http directory for the wordpress site. I can no longer do this as the File Browser Root seems fixed at the root directory of the wordpress site the plugin is installed in.
Existing downloads i already set up are shown as being in the original folder but i can’t add a new file from the same folder using ‘add from server’ now.
Is setting the file browser root to what i had it before now impossible or is there another setting/method besides the unchageable directory shown in basis settings ?
Or is the built-in htaccess function sufficient safeguard against unauthorised browsing and download of files from a new folder i could create below the wordpress site http root level ?

You can show selective downloads using all_packages shortcode. Details here
This may not be feasible; however, I am eager to understand how to establish download limits per-packet, with these limits resetting annually. For example, I wish to restrict a specific packet to a maximum of three downloads per year per user, while other packets on the site can be downloaded unlimited times. I have purchased the Download Limit add-on; however, for my particular use case, I would like to selectively control which packets are subject to limits and which are not.
Please inform me if this functionality is achievable or if you require any additional information to clarify my request.
Hello,
I hope this message finds you well and thanks for reaching out.
– Could you please share a screenshot of the error you’re seeing related to add-update.php? Additionally, it would be helpful to know how the error is triggered, is it appearing during a specific action on the site, or are you only seeing it in the error log?
– You can try clearing the stats data to reduce memory usage. To do this, go to:
Downloads > Settings > Privacy > Cache & Stats.
– If you have a good amount of users, and hooked into WPDM for download tracking, it can further memory usage and overhead.
Looking forward to your update!!

Hello Nayeem Riddhi,
Thanks for the quick reply 🙂
For #1, yes. As you can see in your screenshot there are these fields: name, user, title, email, about me. What if i need to have “company name” and “telephone”? How could i add it?
For #2 yes. There’s your download manager icon/logo. How could i change it or at least remove it?
For #3, ok I checked settings (as suggested by you) but the mail doesn’t arrive. I’ve to check site settings and configuration I think. It’s strange because registration mail arrives.
For #4, in all the “my downloads section”, on drop zone (no files here yet, or),
For #5, A typical customer isn’t able to insert a photo link; they need the possibility to upload an image file from their computer. I recommend this feature. In the meantime, I’ve had to hide this feature. What about the bug on cancelling uploads by customers?
Best regards
Good morning,
I purchased the Pro plugin and, despite searching your documentation, the forum, and Google, I haven’t found an answer to some of my needs. I’d like to know if there’s a solution somewhere (and I can’t find it) or if customization is needed:
1. I need additional fields in the dashboard (company name and phone number). Even though I added them to the WordPress registration—I see your plugin relies on that—they don’t appear in the dashboard, so a customer can’t see or edit them.
2. There’s a loader with your logo that I’d like to customize or delete.
3. I used the dropzone feature, so customers can upload their files. But site administrators don’t receive emails that indicate material has been uploaded. So how do they know and control it?
4. As I saw in the forum, I used the loco plugin for translation, but some parts are completely untranslatable (e.g., the my downloads section).
5. I believe these are bugs: when editing your profile, it doesn’t allow you to upload your profile picture (you click it, but nothing happens), so it’s unclear how to insert it. For files uploaded by the user, clicking the trash can icon, whether you click yes or no, doesn’t do anything; you have to refresh to see the result.
Is there any progress on the issue?
So far i’ve found:
DOM Evidence:
Multiple __boot_popup objects created upon close click (dev console shows this as well)
Each close click adds new <div class=”modal fade show”> to DOM
Running jQuery(‘.modal’).modal(‘hide’) in console doesn’t close modal
Tested:
Cleared all caches
Issue occurs in both admin and frontend
No other JavaScript errors
This makes downloads unusable as users can’t close the modal. Started after recent WPDM updates.
Hello
I am writing to report a bug I have encountered with the “Packages” block in the Gutenberg editor.
I am using the “Packages” block to display a selection of downloads on a page. I need to filter the displayed packages using the “Tags” field in the block’s settings.
The problem is that the filter works perfectly when I enter a single tag. However, as soon as I try to filter by multiple tags (e.g., “tag1, tag2”), the block stops showing any results.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
Go to the WordPress editor (Gutenberg).
Add the “Packages” block.
In the block settings in the right sidebar, find the “TAGS” input field.
Enter a single tag assigned to some of your packages. You will see that the packages are displayed correctly.
Now, modify the field to include two or more tags separated by a comma (as shown in my screenshot, for example: skp, rvt).
You will observe that the block no longer displays any packages.
Expected behavior:
The block should display all packages that have any of the specified tags.
Actual behavior:
The block shows no packages when more than one tag is used in the filter.
This feature is very important for organizing my content, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this issue.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards.
Please install and activate the add-on as normal plugin. And navigate Downloads > Settings > Default Values > Allow Access and with your desired role press Update All. Please kindly check and let me know if it works for you.
Thank you and kind regards

Hi Nayeem,
Thank you for the response. I already did. However, I do not see right now how this will help in my specific use case.
If I understand it correctly, the “Default Values” feature you referenced only affects new downloads that are created after setting the defaults.
My problem is different:
I already have 84 existing downloads that need to be assigned to new membership levels as I add new partners to my system.
Scenario:
Today: 84 downloads are assigned to Partner-1 membership level
Tomorrow: New partner signs up, I create “Partner-2” membership level
Problem: I need to assign all 84 existing downloads to Partner-2 level
As I see it, the Default Values won’t help because these 84 downloads already exist. I need a way to bulk-edit the access restrictions of existing downloads.
Question: Does WP Download Manager Pro have any feature to:
Select multiple existing downloads
Add/modify their membership level restrictions in bulk
Without editing each download individually
If this functionality doesn’t exist, please confirm so I can explore alternative solutions.
Best regards,
Werner
