How do I get a download list page with an image preview? Something like the “Popular Downloads” section of this page http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/ but showing a preview of the download file (jpg or pdf).
Can you do this with [wpdm_tree] or [wpdm-all-packages]?
Hi seems we have a bigger problem, we have nearly 1000 files imported from another system. We have put permissions to restrict user groups at the category level, however by default when files are imported / added the files have All Visitor access. Therefore when we go to the /all-downloads/ page any user can download any file regardless of the permissions on the category level. Does that mean we have to update every single file? Is there a way around this? We really only want to control permissions on the category level.
Thank you for all your help. Last question, the Editor role can’t see the Stats page for the file downloads. Is there a reason for this? How do I allow them to see statistics without having to give them administration access?
We just upgraded to v. 4.2.2 (actually 2.7.95 I think?) and now our individual downloads do not work from our download packages. The ZIP file can be downloaded fine, but when you click on an individual file you get an error “ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH”.
I believe nearly this exact problem happened to us previously and you were able to do something to make it work again.
This is my second installation of Download manager. The first worked exactly as desired. I’m running into the problems with the second. The problem is that the site doesn’t respect the Open in Browser checkbox in the settings. It downloads the pdf as a series of codes.
You can see what’s going on if you click on the download button on this page.
You can use your custom message like this: [wpdm-all-packages items_per_page="20" jstable=1 order_by="title" order="ASC" no_data_msg="No Packages Found"]
But as I see in /tpls/wpdm-all-downloads.php, __('No Packages Found','wpdmpro'); should be in .po file.
I am working on setting up the theme I recently purchased and I have a few questions. I purchased the theme from Theme Forest, and comes with a lot of plugins and customized posts. I am able to favorite, like/dislike, etc. one every post; but I am unable to do so with the downloads. I also am using Visual Composer to setup my homepage, and I cant figure out how to add the most recent downloads I have added to the front page; like I did with my other posts. I am wondering is there any way I can set the downloads to function as a normal post type; so all of the plugins I have installed will function on the downloads page also, and so I am able to use visual composer to customize my website easily?
1. Probably you have to disable Twitter Bootstrap from Downloads->Settings->Misc Settings.
2. You have to customize download-manager->wpdm-all-downloads.php file.
3. We need to check it in your installation. Please give us temporary wp-admin access via a private reply.
One thing, if you noticed on the same page on right sidebar, I’m calling similar template with ‘Top Downloads Widget’ on that sidebar and that is working (what I want to do with [wpdm-archive]). Can you please help?
I have a simply configuration. The most of Downloads I work with login user role. But for some downloads I want to give password access (sometimes instead and sometimes additionally if possible).
But don’t know how to configure.
When I try in frontend I get the “Access Denied” but no box for entering the password.
Added species, front-end want not working, because you didn’t setup front-end access from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Frontend ( Option name Allowed User Roles to Create Package From Front-end ), now it is working properly.
Actually download limit is working fine, but if you try downloading a package repeatedly in same session, it will be counted as 1. Additionally, daily download doesn’t control the downloads in membership area.
Hi Shaon,
thank you for your quick responce. So is this correct, I have two options:
A) ALL downloads – incl. Sub-Categories
B) Select Categories – but no sub Category will be shown.
Thank you
Chris
— to add another row you need to edit file /tpls/wpdm-all-downloads.php, before edit, copy tpls dir to your active theme dir and name it to download-manager, then edit the file your-theme/download-manager/wpdm-all-downloads.php
— if you meant post type archive page, it actually will depends on your theme, but if your theme don’t support it, you can use short-code [wpdm_packages]
Finally many thanks for your appreciation and yes, when you get some free moments, as 5* rating will be a great help 🙂
When I download 4.2.2 zip and try to install it, it says it can’t because the folder already exists.
Do I have to uninstall and reinstall to get an update?
If so, what happens to downloads I have already setup?
close link template panel from Admin Menu Downloads Templates Link Templates , add <div class="col-md-4"> before current code and add </div> after code, then save it as new template, finally use the new template id with your short-code.
