Hello,
Our setup is using the FTP add-on to link files in packages.
After updating both WPDM (4.7.7 to 4.9.0) and WordPress (4.9.9 to 5.0.3) we are experiencing some download problems.Since doing those updated when clicking any file’s download button we get a txt file “download error” that specifies a URL that was not retrievable. It seems like the file ID get’s inserted into the URL? Something like this: http://ftp.example/5b28a0e884de9-filename-example.pdf
I believe that before this ID was not inserted into the URL.I have reverted to a backup for now, any idea what might be causing this?
Code entered on the page :
[wpdm-archive category=”87″ cat_view=”extended” button_style=”default” link_template=”link-template-calltoaction3.php” order_by=”data” order=”desc” items_per_page=”10″]
URL of the page: https://www.acbrescia.it/materiale-archivio/
Before the update the button arrangement was horizontal (figure 1) with this code:
<div class=”wpdm-categories”>
<ul class=”row”>
<li class=”col-md-4 col-sm-6″>
> File Audio
<ul class=”dropdown-menu” role=”menu” aria-labelledby=”dLabel”><li class=”col-md-4 col-sm-6″>
> File Video
<ul class=”dropdown-menu” role=”menu” aria-labelledby=”dLabel”></div>
After the update the button layout has become vertical (figure 2) with this code:
<div class=”wpdm-categories”>
<ul class=”row”>
<li class=”col-md-4 col-sm-6″>
> File Audio
<ul class=”dropdown-menu” role=”menu” aria-labelledby=”dLabel”><li class=”col-md-4 col-sm-6″>
> File Video
<ul class=”dropdown-menu” role=”menu” aria-labelledby=”dLabel”></div>
Topic: Open in New tab/window
Hello,
I tried to modify this behaviour by following instructions on a previous post. However, placing this line in wpdm-all-downloads.php line 355 did not work
echo “Download“;
Just purchased Special Pack and also Paypal Pro after seeing the Crypton demo, specifically this page is exactly what I wanted.
https://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/download/premium-images-demo-product/
I loaded that page in multiple browsers and on my 2 cell phones, it was perfect.
The theme I got doesn’t look quite the same, and there are formatting issues when on a small screen (bootstrap is not collapsing properly).
I can fix the bootstrap issues in the theme files, but the bigger issue is the Buy Now button isn’t showing up, which is 90 percent why I went with you guys. That instant click and purchase is invaluable and always increases sales in my experience. So I must have it working as advertised.
I selected the option in Downloads->Settings->Premium Package->Basic Tab->Purchase Settings->Show Buy Now Option
But It shows and empty box on the front end, see attached pics.
What to do?
New customer with all plugins downloaded yesterday, wordpress is up to date. Also, switched themes and the button doesn’t show up on other WPDM themes either.
Thanks
Topic: 404 Error
I have a fresh WordPress (5.0.3) install and when I enable Downloads Manager (4.9) I receive the following error in the dev console:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () https://xxxxxxxx.xxx/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.form.min.js.mapI have verified the file exist via FTP and there are no other plugins activated when the error occurs.
Any help is appreciated.
KevinI’m not sure your tool is exactly what I’m looking for. I have several documents that I want to control their access. If clicking a link on my website, I want to require that individuals register with an email address. Once they do that, they will be taken directly to the document in pdf form, which normally comes with a download button in upper right portion. So, more of a speedbump on their way to document. Once they register, I want the email address to go to a specific list either in mailchimp or mailpoet. Is your plugin right for me?
Excellent product, I’m the proud owner of the pro version and have been extremely happy with it so far.
I would love to see integration with Patreon.com – allowing membership ‘patron’ subscriptions to carry across for access to specific downloads, discounts/free on others, and other features in Download Manager.
Patreon currently allows some wordpress integration with their API, and provides their own plugin for site restrictions: https://www.patreon.com/apps/wordpress , and they also reference a paid 3rd party plugin from Codebard; https://codebard.com/patron-plugin-pro-documentation.
I use both of those plugins, and am able to hack together a kind of messy Patreon integration with the Download Manager, but if it natively supported Patreon memberships, I feel that would be a fantastic feature add, if it’s in your wheelhouse, and bring you a lot of new customers who utilize Patreon and offer digital goods and services from their sites.
Thanks for the great product and support!
We set up a development site for a client and everything worked great.
We have now moved it to the live site (using backupbuddy to move and migrate) and everything works fine – until we come to add new downloads.
Anything new that we add now gives the error “file not found.txt”
Strangely the files do upload to the correct location /wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/ – they are just not available when you go to the front end and click download – you get a file not found .txt
Additionally need to move our license from the test server to the live site – it won’t let us add it in – so we can’t update the plugins.
Happy to give temporary admin access if needed.
Support greatly appreciated, thanks in advance 🙂
Hey.
Have a very strange problem.
Whenever I try to download a file on my site I get this error:
Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /customers/7/6/8/jcai.dk/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/libs/class.DownloadStats.php on line 35
and then a lot of strange letters and symbols. It can take minutes before all characters are read.
But if I refresh the page, then the file is downloaded without any problem.
I’m using PHP 7.2 if that can help. Otherwise, ask if there is other info you need.
Right now all customers can be added to a general customer mailing list when they sign up, which is great.
Similarly, it would be helpful for us to be able to add users to a package-specific mailing list based when they purchase a specific package.
This feature would allow me to target specific marketing to them, and to let them know when new downloads are added to packages, and when new packages of interest are available.
Thanks for your consideration.

Topic: Paid Memberships Pro issues
Hi there,
I have a membership site and I HAVE to use PaidMemberships Pro. I’m trying to set up my digital downloads page to only allow access to our members.
I have 2 membership tiers:
FREE & PAID
Only PAID members using paidmemberships pro can download from the digital downloads manager. The plugin doesn’t see the membership levels from PaidMembershipsPro.
How do I restrict downloads to only paid membership tier?
We allocated 1gb memory for PHP framework. When using the jstable function with wpdm_all_packages shortcode (jstable=1) the allocated memory is exceeded. The plugin builds a table with more than 1GB memory for itself. When deactivating (jstable=0 or deleting the entry), it works. So far so good. jstable is fixed used in your code, expecting to have it activated and prevents to switch to the next page. We found a workaround with defining line 1002-1005 of file wpdm-archive-page/wpdm-archive-page.php as commentary. But it has also influence from stats, we unfortunately needed to use. It freezes the system completely by memory allocation overflow. We have currently entered 2090 downloads in WPDM.
Can you check it. Maybe you have ideas for workarounds which doesn’t need to reenter after an update.
