For now, you can continue this way, otherwise, this is giving a fatal error PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted you can check the Allowed memory size exhausted solution

WPDM and posts id-values-postmeta are different from each other, so for postmeta there need adjustments, you may also check this plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/ otherwise you can use bulk-import feature, please check this doc, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/bulk-import/

If you are facing problem with click save settings please try to adjust/remove the message from Downloads > Settings > Basic

Download Limit Message:
<i class=”fa fa-exclamation-triangle”></i> Download Limit Exceeded!
