@Wrekin, the add-on don’t manage roles anymore, as there are lots of free plugin to mamage user role, anyhow main purpose of the add-on is to apply download access for individual users.

@DearestDebi, “breaking your own plugin” not actually. But how it becoming better with this upgrade also a bit technical. Still i’m trying to make it clear in easier way, Using Custom Post Type, the plugin is not using low server resourced then 3.3.8, better SEO and using all other standard features comes with custom post type. But please let me know where you facing problem specifically.
