Drop-down was not showing for double bootstrap.js inclusion ( 1 from your theme , another form wpdm pro ). I disabled the bootstrap.js from wpdm settings page and now drop-down is working fine. Details pages are not working also because of theme conflict, looks like the theme is not well compatible for custom post type, please try changing theme. Thanks

from front-end any user will only see the docs created by himself, admin can see all docs from wp-admin.

the file list stores as post meta, and actually anything there somehow deleting those post meta. Otherwise plugin itself don’t have any such issue.

if you add permission for admin and other roles from front-end end, then users under select role will be able to access the page. Anyhow if you are in confusion, please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply, I’ll set it up there for you.

main purpose of wpdm is to force download :D, anyhow you can use [doc_preview] to embed pdf file in same page like this: http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-package/document-preview/
Could be a js conflict, DMS has many browser specific code, which can cause the conflict but it is hard to find, you can keep wpdm disabled while working with dms.
actually v4 should work fine with wp 3.9 and plugin don’t have any such issue, but as you facing I need to check it there now. can you please install somewhere accessible from internet.
