Actually wpdm have nothing much to do on showing preview, we just using Google docs previewer, so you only will be able to show preview of google supported files and also, if you apply any lock option, doc preview will not work.

You can change the url from Login Required Message option in wpdm settings.

no problem to use it in sub-doamin. to preview page/link template, you need to create at least 1 package. upload limit 1mb is from your server, wpdm has nothing to do with it.

no, in 4.1.7, you have the option to control it from wpdm settings page, “Server File Browser Access”
you can use [wpdm-all-packages] for showing package in tabular format, or you can use http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/ , then use that page a static homepage from admin menu settings reading .

@newpolaris, In case of @DearestDebi it was the encrypted pdf file, otherwise it is working fine. I guess same issue for you, anyhow can you share the pdf in a private reply here so that I can check your issue.
@gino, License key is active and open, it should work fine except your server firewall is blocking http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com from validating key, please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply to check it in details and I’ll do manual activation there on need.
