actually wpdm use php function to calculate php file size and file size from remote url can’t be calculated without adding extra load in your server, so in case if remote url you need to add file size manually in package settings.

Yes, it is link template panel. to modify it, simply clone, customize and save a new one.
in that case, simply clear the value for file browser root, it will take ABSPATH automatically.
