ok, the css error mostly coming from your theme and bootstrap css with wpdm, for wpdm part, you can disable bootstrap from download manager settings page.
@willthing, the issue with with the event calendar plugin, the event calendar dev contacted with us about the, I told them about this, probably they are working on it.

it will not get corrupted after update, it only happened once when it was migrating to custom post type, the will not be any change change like that in future.
1. If you didn’t update the package after import, it uses default template when no template assigned. How you still can change it from the drop down or by editing the template file from /download-manager/templates/
