I want the document to download only from the link template and not go to another page.
How do I do this from the title?
I would also like to create a download button that does the same in the link too. How do I create this?Hi,
Nothing seems to be working after upgrading to the pro version.
Downloads do not appear in the dashboard. The links on the left (profile, logout, etc) do not work.
The actual package pages look terrible, the tables are incomplete or have rows cut off.
Am I missing something?

I think you are asking for able to add link to download. External link feature is available in Pro-version only.

I am using the file Cart add-on. On the page on which I included the [wpdm_file_cart] Shotcut, there is a download button with which I can download the zip file. Additionally to that I would like to have the function to send a download link for that zip file or the zip file itself by E-mail to a third person. Is there a way to do that?

For a news and article section of a website, I’d like to be able use this to not only list downloads to articles, but in some cases, also be able to link to external URL’s (such as a PR article on a website). Anything like this in free or in Pro. (Willing to purchase Pro if it can handle that).
As an example:
Article 1 – this is a link to a download PDF
Article 2 – this is a link to an external website

This must be really simple, but I can’t figure it!!
I want to upload PDFs and catagorise them, and then I want to display the list of files on a page, where all the there is for each upload, a title and a download link button in a sort of list format.
This must be possible, right?

Link templates are used when a download/package shortcode placed in a page.
In Category page you can use a common link template, which can selected from Dashboard Downloads Settings Frontend Category Page Options panel. It is not possible to use different link templates for different packages in category page.

I’ve been trying to update the plug-in using the Settings->Update link and when I click on the Install button I receive a message “Success” but the version isn’t updating and continues to show that I need to upgrade to the latest version of the plugin. (See attached)

When we ask for the email for download it’s asking for the first name twice.Can this be fixed? (See attached)

I am not talking about changing emails. It is about permalinks that don’t work.
My customers are not able to download the file after purchase. It sending url: website.com/dashboardpurchases/order/123 instead of website.com/dashboard/purchases/order/123. It happens for everything including download history. How can it be fixed?
And any url from dashboard doesn’t work: purchases, download history, etc. All returns 404 page.

I have a question about the possibility of use WPDM for viewing in WP embedded pdf’s. I like to use WPDM because protects the link when download documents from Google Drive and it will be great to give the option of viewing a document in a post with WPDM”s protection URL.

I would like to unlink the package title from page template, and instead have the title be a link for download.
I saw on this forum that we should use [title] instead of [page_url] but how do I request the download ?
I don’t want “download” to show up, just the title package which people would click on for direct download …

[page_url]template tag. Just clone the link template you are using now and remove the[page_url]tag from there. Now when inserting package use this custom link template.An example,

We worked with WPML for 3 months, since July, on this problem. They even corrected some parts of your plugin that were not coded properly. You can see the thread here:

They cannot get any further with your custom code. They said
“I need to understand the whole thing as it’s using a variable $doctype as a parameter for get_posts() arguments”
The problem is the “Document Type” filter you created for us, does not carry over to other languages. There is something not quite right with the code.
Example:
Document type “Key Documents” in English = “Documents Fondamentaux” French.
We have been able to locate the strings to translate the Document Types on the front end of the site.
In English, there are 7 packages selected as “Key Documents”
If we look at the French version of the site, you can see it shows 0 packages. (SCREENSHOT 1 attached)
But if we look in the Admin side, take example package titled
“CPMR Brochure for COP21: CPMR Regions act on Climate Change”
You can see that the “Document Type” is not translated.
But the English and French versions both are showing as “Key Documents” (SCREENSHOT 2 attached)
So it is like there is an important link missing between the Document Type in the translations. This will also apply to other languages in future (some sites also have spanish, portuguese)
