ok, so here is the deal.
I will try to explain problem again:
So lets take for example this link: http://teetoolkit.com/?wpdmdl=462 this is the URL that your plugin generates. It links to a file that is on Amazon S3, and its uploaded there with the add-on for your plugin. Now if you try to copy the above link in your browser you will be able to download the file. Which is not good, because I’ve added to the “Allow Access:” section of your plugin option that only Administrator and Subscriber can download that file. But as you can see here, that does not work.
Also MagicMembers are disabled so they are not interfering, I already tried this with the default theme and the result is the same. So please don’t tell me that this is because of MagicMembers or the theme. Because it is not. Something is wrong with your plugin and we want you to fix it, so we can make site go live.
I will not even go into the other problem – which is that the download counter isn’t working for S3 downloads. We’ll deal with that later, after the file protecting issue is fixed.
P.S – download counter and file protection works just fine if the file is hosted on our server, so that’s one more piece of evidence that nothing is wrong with MagicMembers or the theme. The problem is either in your plugin or in the S3 add-on to your plugin. Which ever the case may be, you have to fix it.

When I am in my wordpress dashboard and I click on All Packages, all of my download packages show up. Usually there is a link that I can bring up the package to edit it but right now there is no edit link that shows up. Everything else is appearing except the edit link. I have attached an image to show that that edit link is not showing up.

Ok point understood. But if I want to simply hyperlink a piece of text (irrespective of theme) to the download of the file, how do I do that?
“I have linked the button to the package on Download manager Pro.” but that is a theme module and it is showing as the theme developer did that, wpdm has no control over it. So if you want to add direct download link there, please ask theme developer to change that module.

Currently the div that holds the current download link and details is to big and it breaks my layout moving the sidebar below the content. Screenshot attached.
I can’t seem to find the “col-md-6” class in css file. Can you point me in the right direction? I have the saya theme installed.

I created a new template just with the [download_link] tag, uploaded a datasheet and linked it to a button within my theme. But when I click on the button to download it, it’s still taking me to the package details and not to the download directly. What am I doing wrong?

1. Yes, possible, you need to create new link template, explained here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/link-template/ and http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/creating-a-new-template/
2. usually “Wrong Password!” mean, you need to enter correct password again to get access, but if you want to add/change the text, you can change it from download-manager/functions.php

4. there is a close button on top right corner of the popover.
expo is a free theme with wpdm pro, wpdm-m24x is the migration add-on for v3 user, new users don’t need that.
if you want to show only button, create a link template only with tag [download_link], install http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-image-button/ and select a button image :).

I have recently purchased Download Manager Pro. Firstly, the support documentation needs a little help, it’s almost non-existent.
I could do with some help please;
1. I would like the user to stay on the page with the shortcode – so that they are not taken to a new page and the downloads are available there. Is this possible?
2. Next, if a user enters an incorrect password it just says wrong password and the user isn’t sure what to do next (they need to click on ‘Worng Password!’. There needs to be a ‘try again’ link or something.
3. If the password is correct, then the user needs to know and be presented with something more suitable, i.e. Please download your documents
4. After they have saved the document the same dialogue box stays on the screen with the download link. It needs to be hidden.
Without sensible notifications and a bit of clarity it’s clunky and somewhat unusable.
I’ve searched YouTube for a video on how to use the product, only to find an old video which doesn’t really bear any relation.
Also, in my downloads for the product there were other .zip files (expo, wpdm-m24x, and previous versions of the manager – there appears to be no explanation as to what these are.
Just a little help please. Is it possible to change button messages etc.?

Sorry this is a really basic question but I couldn’t find how to link directly to the download of the file, rather than the file package on DMPRO. To explain, if I want to have my own action button on my site, and when someone clicks on it, I only have an option to select the download package from the dropdown but I want people to be able to go to the file directly and download. There’s not much point sending them to a page with details on the file when they want the file itself. How do I go about doing this please?
If there’s some documentation that you could point me to on how to use DMPRO I would really appreciate it.

Hello. I created download only with one file (for example: 123.zip). There is template variable [file_list] but it’s create a file-list table for one file. How can I insert filename (maybe for first file in filelist) into link template?

“block hotlink” add-on is just plus-n-play. nothing to configure there, if you activate the add-on, use will not be able to share direct download link from external site.

To change the text, you need to edit /plugins/download-manager/functions.php

I also am having problems with getting link expired txts when the downloads. Instead of being able to download the file after lock options for social sharing, we’re getting the link expired txts. The files are not set up for a limited download or by dates.

we are not able to use the accordion extension.
We created 2 packages:

Package 1 is linked to “Cat test 1” category, Package 2 is linked to “Cat test 2” category.
When we use the Accordion shortcode this is what we get:
