I have recently purchased Download Manager Pro. Firstly, the support documentation needs a little help, it’s almost non-existent.

I could do with some help please;

1. I would like the user to stay on the page with the shortcode – so that they are not taken to a new page and the downloads are available there. Is this possible?

2. Next, if a user enters an incorrect password it just says wrong password and the user isn’t sure what to do next (they need to click on ‘Worng Password!’. There needs to be a ‘try again’ link or something.

3. If the password is correct, then the user needs to know and be presented with something more suitable, i.e. Please download your documents

4. After they have saved the document the same dialogue box stays on the screen with the download link. It needs to be hidden.

Without sensible notifications and a bit of clarity it’s clunky and somewhat unusable.

I’ve searched YouTube for a video on how to use the product, only to find an old video which doesn’t really bear any relation.

Also, in my downloads for the product there were other .zip files (expo, wpdm-m24x, and previous versions of the manager – there appears to be no explanation as to what these are.

Just a little help please. Is it possible to change button messages etc.?

I also am having problems with getting link expired txts when the downloads. Instead of being able to download the file after lock options for social sharing, we’re getting the link expired txts. The files are not set up for a limited download or by dates.

we are not able to use the accordion extension.

We created 2 packages:

Package 1 is linked to “Cat test 1” category, Package 2 is linked to “Cat test 2” category.

When we use the Accordion shortcode this is what we get:

No files are displayed.

I JUST completed my purchase and realized upon completion the email address associated with my paypal account I no longer have access to so I more than likely will not receive the download link. The email that is incorrect is reggiescott@comcast.net – I no longer have comcast as an ISP. My correct email is reggiescottjr@verizon.net. Will this effect my receiving the download link?

Before the plugin working well.

but now cannot. I use lock option with mail download link. after subscribe, no email send. and when I change to download instantly i got link-expired.txt.

I’ve just renewed my subscription primarily to receive help with this problem …

Running WP 4.0 with the Goodlayers Blue Diamond theme and all plugins disabled, I am unable to update text on any download packages. After making changes in a package’s editing window and clicking the “Update package” window, I click the “View package” link that appears at the top of the page, but the page that displays is unchanged.

It has been quite a long time since we last attempted to update a package, so I can’t say when this problem first arose.

I just purchased this plugin with the hopes that it would work right out of the box, unfortunately that does not seem to be the case. I have encountered a few error messages while using the plugin and quite a few formatting issues that I have been unable to fix. For reference I currently have Download Manager V 4.1.6 and WPDM – Extended Short-codes V 2.3.1 installed.

Issue #1) – Notice: Undefined variable: pdfurl in /home/gstems/public_html/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/functions.php on line 4429. I was able to fix this by placing “$pdfurl=””;” into the code before the erroring line, but I don’t think it should be like this right out of the box. No idea why it is causing an issue, but it is.

Issue #2) – [wpdm-all-packages] as detailed in your screenshots on the WordPress plugin page (https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-manager/screenshots/), does not do anything at all. Which was quite disappointing since that was the whole reason I purchased the plugin. I then found a more detailed short-code description (http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/) which provided the first working short-code. The problem that I am having now is that it is not formatted at all near what your demo site is. (Issue can be seen at http://growingstems.org/activity-plans/stem-in-the-park/) There is a huge whitespace before the table starts and each table row seems extremely expanded. I figured it might be my theme (Minamaze) so I tried it with all three of the default themes as well and still experience these issues. The current layout unfortunately makes this unusable at this moment in time.

Those are the two largest errors I am experiencing with the plugin, but I do have some other questions as I was not able to figure out how to do certain things that I figured should have been built in.

Question #1) Default Page Template / Icon | Is there any way to set a default page template and icon so that I do not have to worry about setting them each time I upload a new file? Perhaps default package settings (Allow access, link template, page template, etc)? The closest thing I discovered was the “Category Page Options” but unfortunately that does not help in the overall experience.

Question #2) Is there a way to show the excerpt on the [wpdm-all-packages] view?
