Topic: Word Document Files Issue
I’m having an issue with both .doc and .docx files. I’m not entirely sure why.
I’ve tried updating the files, I’ve tried creating a new package. I’ve tried searching in the forum and can’t find anything specifically related to these types of files as downloads. We largely offer pdf’s. But there are a few word doc’s we offer. They’re all having issues.When I include a package that has a .doc or .docx file init, it kills the section of the page that has the template in it.

Okay, I did not realize that was an option.
However, when I try to generate a link it says “Error! Unauthorized Access”
Also, I don’t want a usage limit or a time expiration. Should I just put large numbers those fields?Will this option show as a link template in bbpress or it will simply be a link to click on for a direct download?

You can generate the download link using the “Generate Link” button located under each pacakge in all packages page. Then put this link in the bbpress topic.

HI There;
I have several items I need to address for my customer. they are all minor to us but of course important to them. The product works awesome for how we have deployed it, thank you for the great work! Below are the items and I apologize if they are answered elsewhere but I could not find references. If they are enhancement requests or being considered for future releases, please let me know!
1) The customer wants the cart to have the ability for “clients” to be able to unselect items in the download application. Currently if you want to unselect an item, you have to go into your cart and delete it
2) The customer would like the cart to automatically delete with out having to refresh after they download
3) The customer would like breadcrumb’s to work on the download application currently i am unable to find a way to make them work with the available breadcrumb apps I can provide access to show examples if necessary
4) The customer has to be WACG compliant and the audit returned the following:
– All download hyperlinks below red arrow do not read out the file name they just read out ‘download hyperlink’. Each download button should read out “Download file name”
5) The customer would like the download history to show the actual file downloaded vs. the package name for two reasons:
a) if the package name changes then the link is broken
b) several packages have 300+ files in them and remembering what specific files in a package was downloaded is difficult for their clientsThank you and again, GREAT job on the application!

Having an issue with the expand / collapsing functionality of sub-categories using the Directory Add On – Default View.

Hi there,
By default, Download manager adds its custom email template. For example you add a “Password Reset Notification” template. I don’t want to use your custom templates as mine are already good. In addition, with you templates, the reset link doesn’t work.
So, I want to disable your email templates. How can i do that ?

The download package works great on pages, however I would like to display the package link on a forum topic page. Shortcodes do not work on these pages so how can I do this??

Topic: Create medical reports page
I work in a clinic where some exams are done.
I would like to create a page on my site so that patients can access with a login and password the exams they done.
I am using WPDM Pro but currently I save the .pdf to my google drive and then I create a package for each patient with a password and copy the shareable link in the URL because I can not attach directly from the folder.
Using WPDM, how can I generate a login and password for each patient? How to create a page into my site so that when typing the data they can download their exams? How to attach the files from the folder ??
I’m not a computer professional. If someone can help me, I appreciate it. Thank you
We are using Enfold theme but the login page is not allowing a slider we want to add at the top that goes under the logo (so that the logo and navigation will show). This works on the register page and dashboard page, just not the login page.

Anythoughts

Topic: File Order Problems
Hello, we are using WordPress Download Manager, along with the WPDM – Extended Short-codes plugin.
We have used it for a few years, without any apparent issues. Recently the files appear to be out of order.
I have double checked with the REORDER function and everything is in the correct order, when on the front end, users are seeing a list of files (within categories) that are completely out of order.
I also checked the post type on a category by category basis and the files appear to be in order there as well.
I’ve tried various shortcodes to get it to work as intended with no luck, this is what i’m using now:
[wpdm_tree order_by=date order=desc download_link=1]
Please let me know what we can do, I have login credentials for WPDM from a previous issue, so if you need those, i’ll provide them to you.

No idea if this is all linked
i have 2 x wpdownload manager accounts
from the admin i cannot connect to the account with the purchased wpdownloadmanager
but annoyingly i can with my old account
i had an issue getting my licence when i bought the product with the new account so maybe your internal settings need sorting outwith the wpdownload manager error the admin is up to 24 seconds load time!

You can remove those links by overriding the email template. To modify the template copy it from
/download-manager/email-templates/directory. Then place it in your/active-theme/download-managerdirectory and make necessary changes. But keep the same file name. Now, this new template will be used to send emails.Sorry, I guess I don’t understand how the Block Emails function is supposed to work. Can you explain it to me or direct me to a place that discusses it in more detail?
I assumed the function would refer to the list of email addresses I entered and prevent the system from sending or receiving any emails to those addresses. Specifically, I want to specify a domain I could enter in the blocking list (for example xxxx.com) and then when the system tries to send out email messages with a download link (per the Email Lock function) it should recognize the email address domain as one I entered in the blocking list and NOT send any automated email message to it after all. But email messages to all other email addresses should still go out as normal.
So I guess the system does not work this way? Where can I learn more about how it is actually designed to work?

You can add multiple files in the same package/post. Then show the files using a Table or Box format with individual download links. The user can download the file they prefer.

– I have a download limit after one Download. Then comes a message, but the Link in the Message is wrong. But I can´t change it.
The Link goes to https://www.xxx.de/%22https:/www.xxx.de/infos/premium-user/
but only https:/www.xxx.de/infos/premium-user/ is right.
– As you know I have a download Limit 1 File per Day. But when the user clicks fast a few downloads then he can download more. The Limit works after a minute ca. Please check it.

I use the Email Lock function to capture users’ email and name and ensure email addresses given to me are valid (otherwise the user will not receive the email message with download link).
I also want to automatically block any requests coming from certain email domains. Is this possible using the Blocked IPs or Block Emails functions under the Settings menu? I tried using these functions, but neither seemed to do anything – email messages are still being sent out by Download Manager with links to my files when I enter email addresses included in the blocked email domains list.

Custom Fields added in Quick Forms are available as extra form fields in email lock.
Custom Fields added from Downloads Custom Fields page as used in add/edit package page to collect custom data associated with package. Use the Template Tag: in your custom template to show the custom data that you set in add/edit package page. The PHP code is intended for PHP templates not WPDM Link/Page templates.
No, ACF doesn’t support checkout billing form. But you can use a custom template for billing checkout to modify the form. We will add the option to modify the Profile fields using ACF soon, this is still a beta feature.

The current behavior of email lock is to add the user’s e-mail to the subscriber list as soon as they submit their e-mail address when a download package is ’email locked’.
I would like a way to confirm the user downloaded the file through the link they were sent afterwards. This would allow me to have a “confirmed” email address as opposed to whatever someone puts in the box.
Is there a way to either A) Add the e-mail to the subscriber list AFTER the download has taken place or B) Query the database for which link has been downloaded and add a flag to the “confirmed” email addresses based on that?

Topic: Resolving broken file links
Hello! Here’s what happened:
• I imported a bunch of files using the CSV importer.
• My files were in /uploads/download-manager-files/But I was missing some files! That’s left me with some package items that have metadata but don’t have files attached to them.
I found the missing files and added them to the /download-manager-files/ folder, but even after refreshing my cache, it didn’t resolve the link.
Is there a way to quickly fix these links? There are more than 100 I need to fix.
