Hello,
Please advise on this matter. We have attached directory to package and all files got listed in downloads table, but links to files all start downloading generic download-manager-file, and real file links are missing.
Could you please help with this, I’m attaching screenshot.

I’m trying to achive showing different downloads sortet by categories in tabs.With the following code:

The way I can get it to work, is to set items_per_page=”All” or jstable=0 but then I will miss the seacrh and sorting function.
Is there any workaround for this?

I need its on single-page-template, because I wan’t to work only with 1 picture for the downloads on all places in page and Thumbs. because the pictures will have a look like download button it is better if the user on single page can use the picture for download to – like the button link, because the will klick on, I think.

We don’t understand, how we make category templates to get for example out all thumbnails of an category … we only find out a archive page looks very bad… only links

i get only a tab give out the text but not the downloads .
maybe we need WPDM Directory Add-on to give out categories?
but the plugin is from 2012 …sorry for misunderstanding. but the men tries to help me first – works with a lot of plugins before and made a lot of wp installations

may be you have an integration tutorial, what is to do step by step for integration in own templates…(looking for example php code I have to integrate in the taxonomy-wpdmcategory.php and single-wpdmcaategory.php)

We just bought the plugin and the Download Limits addon and have a question about a specific configuration we are trying to achieve.
We have a category called “Free” that we do not want to limit the number of downloads, whereas the other category (Premium) we want to limit to 3 per week. It looks like limiting downloads applies to all of the Packages we have in the system. Is there any filter / setting / method to allow Unlimited downloads of one category and limit the number of downloads for another (or the rest except that one category)? We definitely want to use the one plugin to manage them all, but we don’t want to affect the limit by allowing users to download the “free” documents.
Please let me know if you need more information to assist us in this.

After update to 4.2.1 the all packages shortcode no longer shows doc type icons. I believe the wpdm-all-downloads.php has a pathing issue?
On our install the background image url is defined as
background-image: url('download-manager/file-type-icons/pdf.png');Which resolves to http://www.trc.qld.gov.au/document-library/download-manager/file-type-icons/pdf.png which should be http://www.trc.qld.gov.au/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/file-type-icons/pdf.png

On Wpengine support they told me to contact you about performance of plugin . The website have 900.000 visits per month. Now i have installed 4.1.7 of download manager. Is there any optimisation on the newer version for performance. or is there any way to make it faster because i have a lot of 504 errors.

Topic: File-not-found Issue
I use the WPDM Pro plugin in my wordpress website and just recently when I uploaded my monthly files for my users to download.
But one they click on download, it downloads a TXT named file-not-found with the text “File not found or deleted from server” in it.
And this is not only for the recent uploaded files, but all files.I checked and the plugin wasn’t up to date. So I downloaded and updated the latest version of WPDM Pro.
I followed all the steps on deactivating and activating again, and even deleting the plugin and installing it again.. but no luck.Can you please advise?

Topic: Permission denied
Hi,
I’ve been using Download Manager Free since september/2014. Today it has come to my attention that, when I’m not logged in to WordPress, I can’t download the file available on my website. When I press “download”, I get a .txt file saying I do not have the permission to download it. This doesn’t happen when I’m logged in. On the plugin and file page on WordPress the download is available to all visitors.
Has my use licence expired? Or is something else happening? I can’t figure it out.

In a package, you can add multiple files ( as many as you want ), at from front-end when user downloads this package, they will get a zip file containing all attached files or you can enable them you download individual file ( single file from the attached files ) like this http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/wpdm-package/multi-file-package/ , but when you enable individual file download option, you also need to use [file_list] tag with your link or page template to show the file list with download button at front-end, and templates are explained here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/

I’ve tried for 2 days now to get my downloads to display in a simple grid. I currently have 4 downloads but they will only list in a vertical stack, something like the Metro template 3 wide by however many down would be great.
I’ve cloned link templates, tried different shortcodes all without success.

I’ve just bought the WPDM Pro and the Email Notification add-on.
Just a quick suggestion for you, maybe in your member-download area you could provide a documentation in PDF where we can download.
Also please include some explanation of how WPDM actually work, for instance, what is a package, category, and then the actual downloadable files and stuff like that, otherwise your customers like me will get lost in the space, trust me on this one.Anyway, if you could please outline a step-by-step guide or perhaps direct me to download a specific template-ready file to enable those 2 ‘all downloads’ and ‘accordion’ pages, that will save me heaps of hours.

I have tried the combination of settings of both enabled and disapable, the downloads still fail after a few hundred MB.
This used to work, my ISP says the problem is not theirs. When I move the large file to an open folder with a direct URL to download, this works correctly. It is only through WPDM that it fails while downloading.Another issue is that it no longer shows the size of the download so it cannot estimate how long the download will take. It says ‘unknown size’.
The previous version worked without having another app to generate a short-code, I don’t understand why I need to install another app and generate short-codes.
This upgrade is feeling very much like a downgrade at the moment.

I’m trying to find the “download preview” plug=in. I go to the page where I suspect it is supposed to be does not look like it’s there for download. Can you tell me where I could find the download preview install file for workpress? Or is this something that requires an additional purchase?

No, the above did not solve the problem. It created an error, which led the wordpress to deactivate the plugin and hence the error message vanished. I noticed this later.
With respect to the enabling
session_start functionat the server level, I have checked with the godaddy server team. They say that they have not disabled any such function. In this regard, may I add that the session would be required for old version i.e., 2.6.x. If I install old version of DM, the website works fine. The problem is with the new version of DM only. So I think,session_start functionwould not be the reason behind the problem.Coming back to the problem, after installing the latest version of DM, the additional information (other than the error messages which appear on the face of website) I want to share is that the welcome page says…
Migrate Data Looks like you were using v2.6 earlier and there are some data already, anyhow you can migrate those data to 2.7 from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Migrate Tab You also can get back to v2.6. To do that, delete current installation of v2.7, Download v2.6.96 and install.When I go the the migration tab, the status for all packages is shown as migrated.
