Since it’s been 3 weeks since I reported via email support that my download counter for the pro version isn’t working, I to would like this function, since I could manually add the download counts via the email I receive. However, I would like the email to tell me which download file the user downloaded since I don’t do member downloads. Is that possible?
as you are getting package info in callback function you can set up email for any specific packages or categories. you need write code to check if package is under the category.
I can successfully link to a directory and the files are listed but when I test the downloads all I get are download-manager-files.txt files. If I manually add a file to the Package it does work.

I don’t use Nextgen… the problem is, if the plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/ is active, then all downloads ending as a zero byte file.
We just purchased the plugin today, along with Advanced Access Control.
We need to have files available on a per-user basis, but we don’t want users to see the files of other users. “Only Block Download Link” won’t work because we don’t want the other users to see files they can’t download. The “Hide Everything” option makes it so the user can’t see anything at all, even if they have permissions on some of the files. I would like to add the desired functionality myself, to hide only the downloads that the user can’t access. Then the plugin would be perfect.
However, now the plugin is not displaying any downloads at all using the following shortcode: [wpdm_category id="2" order_by="create_date" order="desc"]

When you say access to everything, what do you mean?
What do you mean by “wdpm-extended-shortcode” add-on is not translation ready. Does that mean I cannot use it yet?
On a more serious note, when I try and visit the site now it comes up with:

I DID have the free version installed. And a number of files had been uploaded to the site. My reluctance to simply install my-best-guess zip file is based on my fear of destroying all the work that had been done with the free version.
So, I assume the instructions for installation are:
— Install “download-manager-4.0.7.zip” in Plugins
— Install the “add-on”
— use “Copy to premium” on “Downloads Settings” page.
Which leaves me with these questions: where and how do you install the “add-on”? Is the “add-on” actually a “plug-in”?

I thank you for your help in this. I appreciate your offer to set it up and likely will take you up on that if I cannot clarify the installation instructions. I do not want to obliterate someone else’s hard work, since it was my mistake installing the free version instead of the pro.

Hello,
I need the email lock/subscribe feature to also capture and store the phone number in a custom field to be accessed in the ‘subscribers’ section. I thought for sure this would be easy to accomplish with the PRO version but sadly it doesn’t seem to be. So I purchased the FORM addon hoping that’s what I needed, but it does not store information in the ‘subscriber’ list either, I really feel like I’ve wasted my $66 dollars right now.
My overall goal is to allow downloads only after the user has put in their Name, Email, and Phone number and that information then be stored in the Subscribers section. Please help. Is there a certain php file we need to be looking at?
Yes, simply install and activate it as regular plugin. after that, go to Downloads Settings Migrate tab

I was hoping that you were still online @Shaon I have been waiting 15 minutes to hear back from you…I do not understand what I am doing wrong. I created a folder on my server that has my free downloads, then I created a package using —> url/freedownloads/filename — what am I doing wrong that it does not download? Obviously it links to the file because the file opens in the browser, why isn’t the file automatically downloading? It automatically downloaded in the free version. The only reason I upgraded to paid version is because the video file I wanted to make available for download was too big — support in that forum told me that I had to get the pro version for bigger files, but now I’m running into problems that I didn’t have in the free version.
I am beyond frustrated with the level of service from the plugin and the support I’ve been receiving. If the plugin was free I could understand, but $45 for such inconsistent and unhelpful answers feels awful. If you cannot answer my simple question then please issue me back a credit for the plugin.

I need help with the following:
1. When someone downloads a package from my website after entering their email address I would like to get an email or some type of notification that they have submitted their email address. This was a feature on the free version.

I really need to find out why this isn’t working. The custom button created for the download page is not loading and instead loads the “?” icon of a missing image.
I am selecting a custom button on the button image on the DM Settings page that I created for both the link and page. They work flawlessly on the direct download links. But when I try to use them on the 2 Email Locak downloads I have, the images are missing.
When I review the source code this is what is generated/interpreted;
