Hello,
Basically, we’re after a way where a front-end visitor is shown the correct software download, based upon input that the visitor supplies.
There is a single Hardware Product that has been built and sold for quite a few years. The most recent versions of said hardware use different chips compared to older versions. And this has resulted in two different (but concurrent) versions of the software updates. With the actual unit hardware looking and acting identically to the human eye, then the customer would be blissfully unaware of which chipset their unit is using and thus which download is relevant.
Our client has a database of serial numbers and which serial is either old-or-new version. So, basically, is there a way within WPDM where the site visitor could be made to manually input their product’s serial number and this would be checked against the said database and then the relevant version of software download displayed?
I know that the above is sounding very “bespoke”, but I’m hoping there’s something I’m missing within WPDM that could be used to achieve this?
Thanks!
Hello,
I have a page set to allow users to upload pdf files for a resources directory of files. When the user adds the package it is listed in the downloads admin page as pending and the files are not going live on the shortcode page to display them immediately. I have searched the settings but either missed it or just can’t figure out how to make the file published right away without an admin having to publish it. Any suggestions or instruction on how to get the files to be published?
I do see this setting in the settings page but it is already set as it should be or how you would think it should work but user uploads are getting posted as pending and I have to as an admin go to the all packages page and publish each file?

PaulHello! I love that the file settings allow to set expiration dates, however, I’m having trouble sorting by things that are expired. Is there an easy way for administrators to be notified that a file is approaching its expiration date or a way to sort when looking at all packages to know which things have expired? Or a setting to have a download switch to a “pending review” status instead of “published?” We are using the expiration feature to make sure our files are only available for as long as they are compliant. When they are up for compliance review, we want them to expire so no one is using content that is being reviewed and is no longer compliant. But, I’m not seeing a way to get a report or sort the downloads in a way to know which things are expired so we can review them accordingly.
Hello all,
is it possible to generate a “list” with all downloads of a category? Simply the title of the download as a link and just all downloads of a category below each other?
Theoretically, we could also simply use a text module and link the direct download of the file. But with almost 300 downloads we would be busy for a while.
So I don’t need a fancy display with download buttons or something like that. A simple list with links under each other would be enough for me!
I would be very grateful for any feedback!
Thanks a lot & best regards,
ManuelCan you help me? I have used the following code for several years: [wpdm_category id="district-assembly-2022," cols="1" toolbar=0 item_per_page=50 template="589b7afceda1b"]
Before the last update, it would list all my files the category. Now it will only list 3 files. In the past, if I had 15 files in the category,
district-assembly-2022, it would list them all. Now, it will only list 3 downloads.Can you help me?
I am using the download_notification function on my site, to send notification emails for one download package only. I have tried multiple variations, but the function itself sends notification emails for every download that occurs on the site. Is there a working version which only sends the notification emails for the package I am calling?
V1 – sends email for all downloads
add_action(“after_download”, “download_notification”,10,1);
function download_notification($package){
$package_data = get_post($package[‘96524’]);
$headers = ‘From: Site Name <email@site.com>’ . “\r\n”;
$headers .= ‘Content-type: text/html’ . “\r\n”;
$message = $_GET[“sfmc_id”];
$to = ’email@site.com’;
wp_mail( $to, “Download Notification: “.$package_data->post_title, $message, $headers);
}V2 – sends email for all downloads
add_action(“after_download”, “download_notification”,10,1);
function download_notification($package_data){
$package_data = get_post(‘96524’);
$headers = ‘From: Site Name <email@site.com>’ . “\r\n”;
$headers .= ‘Content-type: text/html’ . “\r\n”;
$message = $_GET[“sfmc_id”] . “,” . $_GET[“utm_campaign”];
$to = ’email@site.com’;
wp_mail( $to, “Download Notification: “.$package_data->post_title, $message, $headers);
}V3 – sends email for all downloads
function download_notification($package){
$package_data = get_post($package[‘96524’]);
$headers = ‘From: Site Name <email@site.com>’ . “\r\n”;
$headers .= ‘Content-type: text/html’ . “\r\n”;
$message = $_GET[“sfmc_id”] . “,” . $_GET[“utm_campaign”];
$to = ’email@site.com’;
wp_mail($to, “Download Notification: “.$package_data->post_title, $message, $headers);
}add_action(“wpdm_onstart_download”, “download_notification”);
I’m getting the following error for any Google Drive downloads I create.
404. That’s an error.
The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.I have access to my google drive through WPDM and can upload to the directory.
Direct download links give the same error.
Wordpress Version 5.9.1
WPDM Version 3.2.39
WPDM – Google Drive Version 1.5.1Topic: Author’s Page
At this time, is it possible to publicly show an Authors Page with all of their uploaded packages?
More specifically, on a Package Details Page, It shows the Author’s name linked to his/her Author Page. On that Page, I would like the visitor to see all of that Author’s uploads. Additionally, I would simply like the public profile page to show profile including downloads. But for now, the linked Author’s Page coming from a Package Details Page is what I hope to start with.
Thank you for reading, responding and hopefully…. resolving!
Thanks,
Terry
