I purchased this plugin because it says incorporate SEO features, but only see the friendly URL

What would be the way to add the url to a sitemap.xml?

This particular download is setup for “all visitors.” Attached is a picture of the download button I’m trying to use. I have selected the black button. Maybe I’m not coding something correctly in the template to use the Download Button Add-On. When I have a button selected, the orange download icon gets the ‘ /> to the right of it. When I go back and select “no image,” the ‘ /> disappears and the orange default icon remains.

I have also tried using a image-url and the orange icon remains.

Could it be a conflict with my Pagelines template?

use download button only only when you are using public downloads, if you have mixed downloads, in page and link template use your expected image like this:
    [download_link image-url]

Hi, I have had a couple of files on download manager for awhile and they work great.

I just added a new today and when I downloaded it I got an error the the file is damaged and cannot be repaired. Here’s the link:
    http://annemckinnell.com/the-compelling-photograph-sample/

But if I go to the URL directly to download it, it downloads with no error. Same file. Here’s the link:
    http://annemckinnell.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/ebooks/the_compelling_photograph_sample.pdf

Just a couple of notes (not sure if they matter):
    – the files that are already in download manager that work are larger files (ruled out file size)
    – I tried both adding the file from my computer and adding the file from the server
    – I am using a mac, but the download error also happens on pc.
    – I can open the file on my mac fine. I upload via ftp, add it to download manager, download and get error.

Thank you very much for your help!!

    Anne.

I’ve created a page on my site which contains the shortcode [wpdm_category id=ict item_per_page=10] where ‘ict’ is the category name. It returns all the downloads with that category. The download links under each name work, but when I click on the actual file name it returns an empty page, rather than a details page showing the large thumb, download description, etc. What am I doing wrong? I’m really confused! 🙁

The url in the address page shows ‘?download=space-shuttle-poster’ after my domain name (space shuttle poster is a test PDF download file).

Hi. I want to prevent people unauthorized people from being able to download my packages. I have an online store. When someone purchases, I have my shopping cart send them the package page with the password, and I have their download limit set to 1. This much is working fine. (I love the IP check feature.)

The problem, however, is that the person now has the password and the page url, which they can simply email to other people, allowing unauthorized people to download the product. How can I prevent this?

I tried playing around with the multiple-passwords and setting the password usage limit to 1, but the problem with this is that I cannot get my shopping cart to email out unique passwords. There’s a single email that the shopping cart sends out to every customer. So I can only use one password.

Is there an add-on that will allow me to do what I want? It seems like this plugin is not capable of providing full protection without forcing people to login to WordPress, and I do not want to force my customers to have to do that, because I will lose sales.

    Thanks!

    1) install and activate image button add-on.
    2) go to admin menu Downloads Settings Buttons Tab
    3) Select (just click) a button image
    4) or upload your own image and select
    5) Save Changes
That’s all. All of your download link should show with that image.
anyhow next update of wpdm pro will have new option to use image directly with download_link tag like this:
    [download_link image-url-here]

I have WordPress installed in a subdirectory on my server, with the subdirectory masked out on the user side.

WPDM seems to be having issues with that subdirectory, in that it can’t find or render my custom templates (everything shows up as the default), it won’t use any uploaded custom icons, and it adds the subdirectory in to all the URLs that it generates (including the download URLs) which results in 404 errors and “file not found” errors when clicking on download buttons.

Is there something I’m missing in the settings where I can let the plug-in know to disregard that subdirectory when it’s generating links?

Addendum: when the url ends with “/downloads” I get the 404.
When I add a slash “/downloads/” I get an *empty* page titled “wpdmpro”.

[audio_player] did not work on my post.
I want to use audio.js or jplayer to replace flash player. But i got this error since jplayer can’t resolve to wpdownloadmanager url.

    Error loading: “http://namastemusic.asia/test/?wpdmdl=1&ind=0”

I wish new update will come with difference

I would like to have a direct download link to the file url when someone clicks on the title or download link on the archive page. I do not want them to go to the package page first. I’m using the wpdm archive page add on. When someone clicks on a category or searches for a document their result shows on the page. When they click on the title of that document it takes them to the document package page. I want it to go directly to downloading. The code that I think needs changing is in “wpdm-archive-page.php” line 250 -260 changing the $data so that it goes to the file download instead of the page_url. Can someone please guide me in this change?
FYI – the document packages have “Use direct link to download file” selected and the direct link to the file is inserted. But this does not carry through to the archive add on page.

Paid via PayPal, at end of payment transaction, I ended up on a blank screen at the following URL:

    http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/payment/paypal/return

Can you please eMail me download/fulfillment instructions as soon as possible? The eMail address associated with this account is the same eMail as my PayPal account.

    Thanks.

    Hi!
I installed the pro version and all worked fine. Then I also bought the WPDM add-on and added the shortcode on this page: http://www.samtidigt.eu.temp-url.se/dokument/
As you can see the thumbnails are gone and I can’t download anything.
    Advice please.
    Best regards

Mm… just took this off the adsense page :

“Ads are not permitted in any window that is not initiated by a user’s click. Additionally, we do not permit ads to be placed in any window which lacks navigational controls, including back and forward browse buttons, and an editable URL field. AdSense ad code may also not be implemented on webpages where navigational elements have been removed.”

So does this mean that putting ads in the template isn’t allowed?

    1. Your forum does not allow me to LOG out and log in as the account that the purchase was made under.

    2. When I installed the download manager pro from the purchase username “ctromblygraphxinkcom” which is my paypal account, all i get is the following error when I activate the plugin.

    Hey there,

first of all: I am very happy with the Download Manager. It does exactly what it promises to do. 🙂
Currently I have 8 downloads and the plugin works very well.
But: Recently I used google site:mydomain and it showed up that there were 8 sites whith urls like this:
    http://www.videoschnittlauch.de/?download=1
    http://www.videoschnittlauch.de/?download=2

    http://www.videoschnittlauch.de/?download=8

So the problem is I dont want these sites to appear in the serps so I want to add a noindex meta tag. But unfortunately I don’t have acces to the sites. `Where are they stored and how can I add meta tags to them?

    All the best,

    CommIXV

    Hey guys,

I’m trying to do something really simple with your Download Manager that I purchased:

    – Upload file into WordPress to be downloaded by Web visitors.
    – Upload custom ‘Download Here’ Image onto home page (see http://www.brainsarefun.com for example)
    – Create a URL that attaches to this image, so that when clicked it simply downloads the file (right now it goes to Dropbox, ugh!).
    – Counts the number of clicks/downloads, base reporting functionality.

Later, I would love to be able to add functionality to this, i.e. email lock, etc. But for now all I need is this simple functionality.

Does your product allow for this? Or can you otherwise help? Seems like the TinyMCE button should accomplish this, but I don’t see it in my CKE editor, and from what I understand doesn’t allow this anyway. Or does it?

    Thanks much in advance.

    Chris

E-mails being received are losing the formatting.

We are seeing plain text, though the positioning of the elements is correct, eg, it says “Thanks! Thank you for downloading…” on the right side, with the download text and link on the left. However, there is no other formatting of any kind.

This has been replicated several times with three different people, all using MS Outlook.

As far as I can tell, no one has modified the code. We only added the name and email from to the template settings.

Here is the content of the template:

    Thanks!
    Thank you for downloading [title]

Thanks for downloading [title]. Please click on following link to start download:
