hello,
Thanks for your help. I manged to use csv to create packages , I liked the idea and actually purchased your CSV mapping add-on. I am facing a few issues and I wonder if you can help.
1- Is there a way to edit existing packages using CSV, I need to edit a lot of packages. deleting them and recreating new ones is a lot of hassle
2- I created packages using CSV and attached files on google drive. It is working well, but it is showing this “view?usp=drivesdk” instead of file name in all packages.
3-Is there a way to show file name or add this field “wpdm:file_name”? I tried to add it as custom field with no susccess
4- I created a patch of packages and they display correct “date created” but a very strange ” date updated”
please see screen shoot attached

Hi,
I believe that the packages get added with date janyary 1970, so they get added to the very first of the list, not the last, so they dont appear on the first page.
that’s why we did not realize that they get added.
how to fix this?
thanks

thanks

in reply to: CSV Issues and download-manager-files folder issues #46136

Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I fixed the csv file and tried to import it more than 20 times. Nothing happens at all.
I tried to specify the file name, file ur, file path..nothing happens.

Steps I do:
– open bulk import
– Browse to chose the csv file.
– The csv file name appears beside the button.
– I click Import.
– The page refreshes to the “all packages” page.
No new packages added or anything happens.

I had the browser console open and there were no errors.

can you please advise how to solve this?

in reply to: File Manager Not working for me #43471

Hi Shahriar,

thanks for the steps. I understand this and thats what i already said.

What i am asking is why is the path now copied in the File title field? this was not the case before. is this because of the fix i requested for the file manager?
or was it always like this?

thanks

in reply to: File Manager Not working for me #43421

I don’t think you understand my problem in this one…

What i am saying is, when you do the following steps you get a “path” instead of “file name.
This was not the case before the last fix.

here are the steps:
– new packge
-browse.
-click on file.
publish.

this will be the result:
https://coptic-treasures.com/wp/download/test01/

this is what will be written beside the download button:
home/coptic/public_html//wp/wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files//adel_noshy/01-genesis/سفر-التكوين-مقروء-عادل-نصحي-اصحاح-01.mp3

this is because the path is now copied in the filed called “file Title” in the package.

To fix this, i have to manually edit the package, delete the whole path from the “File Title” field.
this will be the result then:
https://coptic-treasures.com/wp/download/test02/

this is what will be written beside the download button:
سفر-التكوين-مقروء-عادل-نصحي-اصحاح-01.mp3

what i am saying to you is that in the 1287 packages i created, i did not have this problem before fixing the File manager.

I am asking why does the path get copied now in the “file Title” field?

this is not an isolated problem in one package.
also, this does not happen if i bulk imported files into packages.

this is a package done by bulk import, without editing the “file Title” field:

thanks.

in reply to: File Manager Not working for me #43395

Sorry is this a question?

if so, yes, the path is showing in the file title like this:
home/coptic/public_html//wp/wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files//keraza/2016/07-08_Keraza_2016.pdf

up until yesterday it used to show only the file name like this: 07-08_Keraza_2016.pdf

in reply to: File Manager Not working for me #43387

Hello Shaon,

After yesterday’s fix, i found out that the download packages no longer show their package name, but show the path.

This makes the posts and packages look awful.

please check:

https://coptic-treasures.com/wp/download/2016-keraza-0708/

this happens for the post that the file are entered using the “Browse” option.

Is this related to the fix you applied, and if not, what can cause this?
thanks a lot

in reply to: File Manager Not working for me #43363

Hi Shaon,

I can’t thank you enough…worked like charm…

what files should i keep to preserve the modifications you did?

thanks

in reply to: Caching Download Files #41705

Hi,
any update on how to change the cache headers, please?

in reply to: Caching Download Files #41509

If you go to http://www.webpagetest.org/
and put the download link of a pdf file, foe example:

http://coptic-treasures.com/wp/download/%d9%85%d8%b2%d9%85%d9%88%d8%b1-129-%d9%85%d9%83%d8%b3%d9%8a%d9%85%d9%88%d8%b3-%d8%b5%d9%85%d9%88%d8%a6%d9%8a%d9%84-pdf/?wpdmdl=29178

then run the test,

test Results then details, then click on the link, you will get a popup window.

go to “Response”, you will find:

Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate, max-age=0

I tried every possible way to put pdf files into the .htaccess to control this but could not.

is there something that i should do to change this to a cacheable item?

thanks

in reply to: Caching Download Files #41502

Just to clarify:

I am not asking whether WPDM can use a cached file or not. I am asking how to remove the conditions that forbids the files from being cached.

The caching in Cloudflare happens automatically.

thanks

in reply to: Will Download Manager Support Google AMP? #41501

Hi,

Yes you are right. AMP removes Java.

However, the AMP files are automiatically generated, and I dont have control on each individual file to do so.

Would there be a way to specify a “fallback” for the download link to reflect the suggestion you said above? that way, if the amp page is shown, then the fallback link shows?

thanks

in reply to: Caching Download Files #41500

Hi,
I have 2 problems with this solution:
1-I already have more than a thousand packages, redoing all these is a massive job.
2- My filenames are in Arabic, so each file name will need to be urlencoded for the like to work, which is a massive job.

Is there a way to adjust the cache control in the lines in my previous message?

Note: if this is development work, I can pay for this.

thanks a lot

in reply to: "Attach Dir" option not working after latest update #41404

hi, thanks for the reply.
1-ok, i will contact WordPress.
2- My Download manager is 4.5.4 and Tiny MCE addon is 2.5.0, but I still can’t see my templates.

Also, about my question: do I need to keep any files of the ones you updated for me or they will be properly updated in the next Download Manager release?
thanks

in reply to: "Attach Dir" option not working after latest update #41364

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply.

Yes everything is fine now. thanks a lot. will this be updated in the next update or i need to keep some files for future updates?
also, i noticed 2 other issues:

1- the packages numbers go up in 2 numbers. For example:
package 23441 will be followed by 23443 not 23442. is this intentional?

2- the custom made link templates that I created, no longer appear in the TinyMCE button. I have to copy the code from old posts and change the package number.
Previously all the templates used to show in the TimyMCE button.

Can you please help?
Thanks a lot.
