I just verified that the problem is with the recent WPDM updates.

I tried downgrading the WPDM PRO plugin and the problem was fixed.

I tested it with version download-manager-6.6.3.

The same thing happens when we use the [popup_link] shortcode from the WPDM Extended Shortcodes extension.

The modal window cannot be closed when we click outside the modal window or on the dark background.
