Hi – we are on 4.9.7. Can you give me a link to download 4.9.8? We are not able to commit time to testing to update to 5 yet but need to get the single file download link working again.
Thanks,
Julia

Thank you! Works great.
This patch works for the compact view but not the extended view. How can I apply it to the extended view? Thanks
Has this been added to the add-on yet? Thanks
This happens on any view. The shortcode lets you specify field to sort by and the order asc/desc. When a page initially loads, it’s sorted by what’s in the shortcode, e. g., title and asc. However, if you click on a category, the category is displayed sorted by the defaults in the dropdown which is publish date and desc.
I have included attachments and you can also see one example on our network at https://advisement.gsu.edu/find-your-major-map/.
We would like the dropdown defaults to match the parameters set in the shortcode.
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks – one final question. How can I change the breadcrumb to show the preselected category when I use the url parameter category=?
Sorry – one more question. This works great with the compact and extended views. Is it possible to get this to work with then sidebar view as well?
Thanks
Thanks for the assistance – this works great. Maybe you could consider making this an option in add-on going forward, but if not, we can maintain it.
Is there an update for this yet? Thanks
That’s what I am asking to do. I need to be able to link from, for example, a page called Accounting Services, and have the page with the download manager archive shortcode open with the accounting category pre-selected. I also need to be able to link to the same page from other pagers like purchasing, travel, etc. and show a different subcategory when the page with the download manager shortcode loads.
I have seen other tools do this using a query string variable passed in the page url that tells what category or parameter to preload. Is it possible to add an option to send a query string variable with the category slug or ID to the archive page add-on to tell it which category to pre-select?
No – we need to be able to open the page to different categories depending on where we are linking from. Otherwise, I will have to create a page fo every subcategory. I have about 15 sub-categories.
Thanks – so how do I tell the link to the page what sub-category to load once I add this code?
Great – thanks
I want to use the Archive add-on which lets you search,, sort and click different categories to further filter.
The attached example shows the archive page with all packages in the forms category. The sub-categories are then shown below the tool bar and I can click on a subcategory such as accounting to see only accounting packages. I want to be able to link to the page and have it already filtered to show just the accounting packages instead of having to choose that category.
The first attachment shows the page as it loads. The second shows the page when a category, Accounting, is selected. I want to be able to tell the page to open with Accounting (or any other category) pre-selected.
I’d like to be able to do this with the sidebar view of the Archive Add-on as well.
Here it is – Category 49 is a parent category with subcategories. I also included a screen capture when the extended view is used so you can see that only the subcategories show in that view.
[wpdm-archive category=”49″ cat_view=”compact” button_style=”primary” link_template=”5a25a25c7e067″ order_by=”post_title” order=”asc” items_per_page=”10″]
Could you let us know when the update is available? Thanks
Awesome – thanks
Quick question. What happens to the existing files in the current central location when we upgrade to 4.7? Does the Download Record now point to a different location? If so, do we have to move those files?
Perfect – Thanks
Great – thanks. I was bale to figure out how to change it so we are good for now.
Hi Shaon.
We have finally isolated the issue with the Archive Page Search but I don’t know what needs to be changed to fix it. The problem is that the Archive Page search only works on a single WordPress site or the main blog of a Multisite. All of the sites we are having issues with since the upgrade are subsites on a multisite. The sites that worked were either stand alone or the main blog for multisite. We have the core download manager and add-ons activated individually on each site. It appears the Archive Page add-on code is looking at the wp_posts and wp_postmeta tables instead of the specific blog tables.
Can you update this and provide a version of the Archive Page add-on that works for multisite subsites? I know the old version did work at some point. Also, you probably already know this but your [wpdm_all_packages] shortcode search does work properly in a multisite subsite.
Thanks
It would be helpful however, to have a version of the Archive Page tool that let’s us maintain the sort by title. Right now, if you sort by title in the shortcode, you lose that as soon as you choose a category.

If you type in iPhone or iPhone manual as a search, note that it returns no results even though there is a package on the page called that.
I have installed it in a new environment with no other plugins and one that never had the old plugins and it seems to work so I will dig some more.
