deleted category should not be visible at frontend except the page us cached, please clear your site cache and check again
file not found issue may also happen for file name. please try changing file name and re-upload again

you can create a matching link template ( http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/integrated-templates/ ) from template section as better for your site and select the template for the widget.

many great sites using wpdm pro, please check the could and reviews at fronpage of the site. But as idkzhang explained the matter you may face an issue because of conflict with other plugin you using there or any other server reason. Its 99.99% true. As we working on it continuously to make it bug free and we are also co-operating wpdm pro user if any of them facing such issue. So please let me know where you facing your issue actually before you use the word “BUGGY”.
you can change category name but not the id.
and you can’t assign icon or image to each category.
you can edit archive page css from the file “/wpdm-archive-page/wpdm-archive-page.php”
you can disable error log from your server, anyhow we also adding an option for that with next update

please delete all content from cache dir here “/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/cache/” and make cache dir writable
The “loading…” text is not actually “loading” anything. it is just a sample text used for popup. So it is not a bug or not taking your server resource.
default one coming from /plugins/download-manager/templates/link-template-default.php , you need to edit that file
