looks like the user ( arc200@psu.edu ) don’t have capability to access admin-ajax.php, user caps need to be minimum wp subscriber level to upload files, nothing to do with wpdm, but need to change in user role capability, for example you can copy same capabilities as subscribers with current caps.
as you have lots of package I modified it in your installation and added a cache file so that , there don’t need to run sql every time. For time out issue, there is nothing to do from coding part, it is related to server. But in pro we are adding ajax option for that table so that it just will load 1st page and from 2nd page will use ajax request to load data.
updating table plugin may help. but as there are to many data i’m not exactly sure, but if you are just thinking about the table, update will not cause any problem except you need to migrate data using migration add-on which will require some custom work.

about the complexity or usage, pro can never be easier then free. any pro comes with many features comparing free, additional feature also produce additional configuration options. Anyhow please let me know what you missing with pro that we promised and which feature of pro you are not understanding.

looks like something with your server. i can apply a force download, to skip server issue, but it will create copy of the file in cache dir.

not possible if you add it from server as file path or upload directly. what you need to do that upload the pdf from media manager , copy the url and attach the url with a package as remote file url and publish the package. Now, if user try to download the pdf in this package it will open in browser rather then download.

you don’t have to change any php file as there are alrady language file included. create wpmarketplace-es_ES.po for Spanish. then it should work fine.
yes, will be possible from v4.1.0. which is coming within this week, there you will have option to active front-end ui to manage package for specific user role.

all downloads short-code will not show everything else properly except facebook lock option, as fb like button sometimes failed to load in popover, but there is nothing to do with wpdm pro. for facebook locked package need to go to package details page to download. Again many thousands of users using wpdm pro without any frustration. so in your case it can’t be my fault. anyhow I’ve already replying each of your query in quickest possible time.
for locked packages, if you use [download_link], it will show the download button and when someone clicks on download button, will see the lock options in a popover, but in case of [download_link_extended] all options will be embedded in page. BTW, many thousands of users using wpdm pro.
