Though IE9 should work fine, but generaly it is always better to use chrome or firefox, however there is no browser dependency.

[download_link] generate complete link html. so you need to use [download_url] there, but it only will work for public packages where no lock option applied. However you can change label edit each files or you can use image button add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-image-button/

It doesn’t use stats table, but could total downloads from post meta table ( __wpdm_download_count contains download count for each package )

single front-end uploader add-on will be released within 1 week of January 2015.

Advanced access control is not applicable from front-end.

probably all files not uploaded properly, please delete current installation, then install pro v4.1.8. Deleting plugin will not harm your data. You need to download all add-on separately and install like regular plugin. you can generate extended short-codes using tinymce button add-on, but need to install extended short-code add-on to make those short-codes available.

If you were using free v2.7, you don’t have to migrate data in pro v4.1.8, but if you were using v2.6, you need to use this add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/ to migrate data. however installation steps mentioned here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/installing-wordpress-download-manager-pro/

please clear the cache dir manually, in latest version of wpdm pro we have improve the cache option to avoid such situation. please update your copy, as it looks like your are still using very old version of wpdm pro.
