Hi,

I’ve a few of questions I’m hoping I can get an answer for!

1. With the ready to use templates are some of these paid? I prefer the “Panel 1/3” or “3 Columns, Detailed” template but cant see that option? It’d be a nice edit to mention free/pro next to each template if that’s the case!

2. Do you know if hCaptcha support will ever be added? Prefer it over reCAPTCHA and other elements of the site uses hCaptcha so will match + hCaptcha earns site owners $ money.

3. When clicking the “DOWNLOAD” button the modal pops up with my custom T&Cs > checking to agree > verify captcha > instead of clicking the download button that appears after captcha it’s redirecting me to the link of the file on Mega.nz instead of downloading? If forcing download isn’t possible with URL any method to open new tab instead of redirect?

I’ve to use mega for the file due to the format isn’t allowed and although I’ve added it to the “allowed file types to upload” via Settings > Basic it doesn’t work. On the “SELECT FILE” it lets me select it but then wont actually upload/attach the file.

4. I’m using the “Call to Action 3” template. However, the modal login form is slightly broken, is this WP:DM issue or my templates? reCAPTCHA goes slightly outside the window.

PS: This page is broken: https://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/button-templates-add-on-free Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WPDM\Package’ not found

Cheers!
Stay safe.

Hi @Nayeem Riddhi,

Thanks for answering my topic!

1. Noted. I’ve worked it out and settled on a template I’m happy with now. 🙂

2. Will do!

3. I see. Is there no way to do this in the free version? Even if it’s a manual method?

4. Issue resolved.

5. Is it possible to disable emails? I get about 300 emails a day from “New user registration on your site WordPress Download Manager” and it’s eating up my SMTP provider limits, is it possible to disable this? I see no option in the Downloads settings page (checked Basic, User Interface, Frontend Access and Privacy)

Thanks.

Hello Lethal,

For #3, Yes, It is also possible in the manual method, by default, you are using link-template-default.php for link template and page-template-default.php for the page template. you can edit the files and follow this doc, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/template-files/ for backup of your files.

For opening in new windows, please add this code replacing [download_link] in page/link templates PHP file as i described below,

<a href="[download_url]" onclick="window.open('[download_url]','newwindow','width=1200,height=800'); return false;" class="btn btn-primary" target="_blank">[link_label]</a>

Thus, you will be able

And For #5,

You can disable it from WP-Admin > Settings > Membership > Anyone can register, unchecking the option. I hope it may help you

Thank you and regards

Hi @Nayeem Riddhi,

I’m using the link-template-calltoaction3.php with pop-up modal with accept T&C and reCAPTCHA.

I’ve made a copy of the link template to my child theme wp-content/themes/oceanwp-child/download-manager/link-template-calltoaction3.php However, this doesn’t edit the popup modal that redirects after completing reCAPTCHA that’s the port I want to open in a new tab/window after completing the captcha.

5. I think we might’ve mixed up. I’m not trying to disable registration completely – just the email notification WPDownloadManager sends to admin after someone has signed up.

Cheers.

Hello Lethal,

I think you should keep the dir for link-templates like this,

wp-content/themes/oceanwp-child/download-manager/link-templates/your-link-template.php

And For #5, you may uncheck the Enable email verification on signup from Frontend Access Settings, please check and let me know

Thank you and regards

Hi @Nayeem Riddhi,

I noticed my mistake, I forgot the link/templates folder.

Everything is now more or less how I’d like it (other than the fact downloads still don’t open in a new tab/pop-up and redirect my visitor away from my site to mega.nz).

Final question: How do I use full width on the page-template-default template? It seems to have an empty sidebar “Hot Topics” on the right, I wish to remove this and use full-width so the download’s description isn’t so compact/limited.

I’ve tried WPDM Page Templates but doesn’t work with my theme OceanWP I only have default template (page.php) and Landing Page… my template/theme is set to “Full Width” in settings but Download Manager ignores this as the page isn’t manage by WP (it’s created by Download Manager*).

* If a download “Sample Download” is created via Dashboard > Downloads > Add File the page it creates is mywebsite.com/download/sample-download. The page is handled by Download Manager so isn’t under Dashboard > Pages so i’m unable to set full-width. When I preview the page is Dashboard > Appearance > Customise there is NO sidebar which is telling me Download Manager is adding the sidebar (Hot Topics) itself?

Thanks.
