I’m confused. I created a custom link template. When I go to Downloads > Templates, I see my custom link template and the template ID listed for my custom link template is: 52f2603ba5898. This is the same template ID I’m using in my shortcode.
I’m sorry to keep asking for clarification, but this is really confusing…

Yes, template id is wrong 🙂
You need to set id by name, you can find all templates in /download-manager/templates/ – for example if page template file is link-template-bsthumnail.php then id name is link-template-bsthumnail, so at end it will be:
[wpdm_category id="frequently-accessed" template="link-template-bsthumnail"]You can also check id names in WPDM template editor(it’s even more simple, than way i mention above).

So I am now starting to get to grips with how this plugin works, What I would like to ask is if you look at the attached screen shot you will see information thats posted about the download file, is there anyway of removing this information? and just have the main information of the package, and then the download links?

I tried to upgrade from Download Manager to Download Manager Pro today, however I’m running into some sever problems so for now I had to roll back back on the free version.
The data import looks like it worked, however instead of showing download links a the wpdn category code appears
The button “Download Manager: Insert Package or Category” has disappeared and thus it is impossible to include or update a link within a page, the short link is not visible anywhere else.
I’ve installed the following files from you: download-manager-4.0.3.zip and wpdm-m2cpt.zip.
Please advise what to do. If we can’t get it to work I would need to return the license.

Is there a way I can add a download link to a single file that exists in a package?
I have a package that contains 10 files, but I need to show just one file from it on a page. I don’t really want to attach the document again if it already exists.It would be nice if in admin we had an ‘All files’ option showing the standard wordpress table of information, along with a single file shortcode for each. Is this something that could be developed?

after upgrade from 3.3.8 to 4.03 i´ve a problem with the link templates.
i´ve created one new link template to be used in the download packages.
when i choose inside a new download package the new link template
it will not be saved. instead it jump to the “with mp3 preview”.what can be done?!

Thanks, Shaon. I’ve created the link template with your above code and called it ‘File List’. It has the ID of 52f0b563f3d46.
Next I went into the package and changed the link template to ‘File List’. The problem is when I update the page/package, the link template reverts back to ‘with MP3 preview’. I can switch to any of the other templates, but not ‘File List’ that I created.I checked on the page where I want the file list to appear and it just displays ’52f0b563f3d46′.
Any ideas where I’m going wrong? I’m using v4.0.3 of the plugin.
EDIT
The only way I could get it working was to create a new link template in \plugins\download-manager\templates. But I’m guessing this will disappear with each update?In reply to: Odd code instead of download link
please go to order details page, there you will see individual download link for v3.3.8 and v4.0.3, please download and install v4.0.3

– if you want to change the scale in wpdm pro, please copy single.php and rename the copy as “single-wpdmpro.php” , now remove the code for featured image from “single-wpdmpro.php”, this template will be used by wpdm pro package details page by default, and now you can use any size for featured image from page template. but if you still in confusion, i can ask support team to do that for you :). in that case please send ftp access to themes dir and wp-admin login info to support@wpdownloadmanager.com with forum post link.
– actually none of those are generating by wpdm pro, but any other plugin your installed there could generate those custom field
– please use tag [wpdm_custom_field_table]

Seems it is the same issue mentioned here:
I have a link template to download when you have liked the FB page.
When you already liked the page it doesn’t work… we have to unlike and like again to start download.
When you like the page there is a field to “says something about this” but no “submit button”, ??
And then the popup window don’t ever close… We have to reload the page again to the popup go away.

The plugin I have already, my picture shows it with the plugin. @ my first post,
it is a code problem. it shows after the download Button ‘ /> with [download_link_extended].
I change [download_link_extended] to [download_link] works great @ page-template-1col-ex.php.
I deleted the line [download_link] @ link-template-default-icon.php he shows no picture. so the download link shown no more, which is how it should be. I customize my templates so.

actually the url should be always current page url, mean if use tweet from short-code page then it will use short-code page url or it user tweet from page details page then it will use details page url

I did the upgrade to 4.02 today and there are issues:
1) My page now shows two copies of the image on the details page.
2) It says something about Version: {version}. How can I make this go away?
3) The download button isn’t there anymore. It’s just a link in the corner.
4) The Last Updated field is showing what looks like a random number.
5) When I assign a new custom link template to an item, it doesn’t save and just goes to a different template.
6) When I migrated my data from 3 to 4, all my items lost their category info. While I only had 20 items, it wasn’t the end of the world to redo them, but it was annoying to do. I can imagine that people with hundreds of items who have to redo all the categories are going to be upset.I would like to point out that my first three issues are appearing on your own demo site here:
