Hi,
I am creating a two column template and when I use the icon tag it doesn’t bring up the image just a text link. You can see it here on the right side under the picture: http://69.194.230.123/~rtlogic/file-download/channel-simulator/
Can you help me fix this?
Thanks
The Download Manager” plugin fills a real need for organizing a library of downloadable documents on a WordPress site. I’ve tried several and this particular one has a slick look that is very attractive. That said I have a few items on my wish list for development in future versions:
1. When there are multiple file items in a Package I wish each file item could have a “version number” listed beside it on the Package Detail page. When there are multiple files, I’m not interested in the version of the Package I’m interested in seeing the version of the individual files in the Package.
2. For a Package with multiple files I wish I could have the “download count” number listed for each file in the package. I made this change manually to the code.
3. For a Package with multiple files I wish I could have the “file size” listed for each file in the package. I made this change manually to the code.
4. The Archive Page is a huge deal. This is an important feature since i think this is the ground zero for looking up documents. If you think of the Document Manager as library system the archive page is where a visitor would enter the library and search or find their document that they are looking for. I have purchased the archive page add-on and like the basic set up and look but it could use more features. One feature i wish for is an option for a direct download link to the files instead of linking to the package detail page. When a package only has one file in it, it’s a waste to go to the Package Detail page. Unless you want to write a description or more info on that file it’s just an extra click. My point is that going to the Package Detail page from the archive page package links isn’t always necessary. I wish there were an option to choose between a direct download link or going to the Package Detail page on the archive page. I made these changes manually to the archive page code but it still is not working as i’d like.
5. I’d also like the option to see the number of files in a Package listed with the Package on the archive page. I wish there was an option to list number of files in a package beside the package title and download count info.
6. The template system could use more shortcodes options for link and page templates. i.e the ability to insert file version not just package version into the template, list category or selected category IDs, file properties (is it a pdf, mp3, zip etc), list number of items in a package.
7. Better documentation for using the plugin would be helpful.
8. Support – the live chat on your site has been very helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you. The response time on the forum has been pretty good. My wish and hope is that these continue. Support is important and I really hate it when the answer is always to supply log in info to wp-admin and have someone else fix it. I like it that you actually gave me the information needed to fix it myself and it was quick. Thanks and please continue to do this type of thing when possible.
Thanks!
I have just updated to version 3.3.3 and noticed that I am getting some strange things happen.
http://www.md0mdi.com/_blog/old-timers-of-the-isle-of-man/
I have attached a link to a page that I have setup with a download named ‘RSGB Callbook’, here are the problems:
1. There is a ‘dot’ appearing at the start of the download box, this appears outside of the box in the top left hand corner in Firefox (17.0.1), and in Chrome (23.0.1271.95 m) it appears inside the box in the top left hand corner, how do I get rid of this ‘dot’???
2. In firefox, the icon for the download does not appear at all, and in chrome it just displays a small image that is nothing like the one that I have selected, I have tried to change the icon, but nothing is displayed in either browser, this did work fine prior to updating, how do i rectify this???
3. Underneath the word ‘test’ there is ‘…’ , is there a way to get rid of this???
4. The View Details option! how do i keep the ‘Bootstrap’ layout and remove the option to ‘View Details’
Any help would be much apprected…

I am using the facebook lock.
When a page displays with locked download links, the first link button clicked displays the facebook like control. When any other link button is clicked a grey panel displays but no facebook like control. The underlying code as viewed with firebug shows the facebook like code in place, but it is not displaying.
If the original download button clicked is clicked again, it shows the facebook control correctly.
I have disabled the only plugin that affects display but it makes no difference. My template may have a conflicting script loading, but how can I tell?
Why would the like control display once on a page but not on subsequent attempts?
I have download manager and download archive. I have set page and link templates to default.
Although the default page files appear to be in the plug-in folders they are not editable from the plugin interface.
Must I edit the php files directly?
The templates only display part of the page. The breadcrumb need attention, as it doe not include the download manager page or any intervening category links.
On the link pages the category titles are listed twice. Once is enough.
How can I order the file lists by filename (or any other criteria)? I have played around with the asort() command with mixed results.
If the default templates should not be edited then is it possible to create a new template and assign it to all files quickly and easily? I onlt see one method of assigning templates to files – one by one.
