Hello
I did the upgrade to 4.02 today and there are issues:
1) My page now shows two copies of the image on the details page.
2) It says something about Version: {version}. How can I make this go away?
3) The download button isn’t there anymore. It’s just a link in the corner.
4) The Last Updated field is showing what looks like a random number.
5) When I assign a new custom link template to an item, it doesn’t save and just goes to a different template.
6) When I migrated my data from 3 to 4, all my items lost their category info. While I only had 20 items, it wasn’t the end of the world to redo them, but it was annoying to do. I can imagine that people with hundreds of items who have to redo all the categories are going to be upset.
I would like to point out that my first three issues are appearing on your own demo site here:

My own site example page can be found here:

Thank you
I use the wpdm-download-button Addon.
I use [download_link] works well changed to [download_link_extended] shows after the dl image this ‘ />
in v3 of wpdm, the tweet lock url went to the page that i added the shortcode to, which was fine. now in v4, the tweet url goes to the download page, not the page where the shortcode is – how can i fix this? thanks!
Downloaded the TinyMCE plugin. Added a page. Went to use the TinyMCE plugin. Clicked on “Other Short Codes”. Clicked on a category. Selected number. Clicked “Insert to Post”. Nothing happens. Nothing at all. Inserting a category (middle tab) seems to work fine.
With the above, when it creates the shortcode [wpdm_category id="testing-category," item_per_page=100 template="link-template-msthumnail.php"]
I get this page http://cscsu.org.uk/wmm/testing-page/ which is not formatted properly at all. It’s supposed to be using the metro style and it just doesn’t seem to use it at all
The package itself is also supposed to be using the metro style but it doesn’t http://cscsu.org.uk/wmm/download/testing/
Also, I am using the latest version and in my plugins list, I have the following message
There is a new version of Download Manager available. View Version 4.0.2 Details »
Hello Shaon.
I purchased the WPDM – Micro Form add-on after upgrading to version 4.0. After activating the add-on there was an error message where that field would be shown on the “lock” options list, and also on every package page. Is the Micro Form suppose to be compatible with version 4.0?
Since it didn’t work with version 4.0, I switched back to 3.8 to see if it worked there. Now the page just fades to black when the download link is
clicked as seen at the link below.
All I need is to require the user to fill out a couple of fields before download begins. I’d be fine using either version. Thanks, I really appreciate your help with this.

Hi Shaon 🙂
in the last two months i was very busy, and I heard just now that you’ve released the new 4.0 version 🙂
The question: WPDM Pro is installed in a production server. It is safe to upgrade to the new 4.0? Any risk (i.e.: loosing the packages already created, loosing the custom page/download links…)?
The plugins (Archive page and Extended short-cuts) are still valid?
Thank you 😉
My old link template doesn’t work in V4, it does not show the lock options, it only allows me to click on the package name which brings me to a blank package…
1st image is v3.3.8
2nd image is v4
3rd image is download package page
Hi. When I use the short code [wpdm_tree] it displays the full tree of files. However when I click on a file to download it, the link leads to http://www.mysite.com/subdomain/undefined – how can I correct this issue? The same thing happens on your demo site….
Thanks in advance. Richard
I am suppose to launch a website tomorrow and needed a robust plugin to manage downloads. After using the the Free version of WP Downloads Manager I was happy with the plugin. I purchased the pro plugin because of the things it claimed to do.
It is a much worse experience than the free plugin. I can not find a single template that will properly display my download link.
I have had to use multiple plugins to achieve similar functionality to the free plugin, such as the Tiny MCE Button plugin, which even after install is not half as robust as the free version. Without this I will have to go into each package and change the template without the advantage of using the shortcode in my product admin page.
I am very unhappy. I have spent valuable hours and $45 on a plugin that is not ready for market. I am very unhappy with this plugin.
The only advantage I have seen is the ability to download multiple downloads. Now that they are downloaded I can’t make a format work to display them properly. I am very frustrated. In all the years I’ve been working with WordPress I’ve never been this unhappy with a plugin experience.
