Hi,
I am trying to create a custom template that would show download link, file version and last update date. No matter what I do, [update_date] always stays blank. Is it broken? Is there anything specific I have to do with the file to make it show update date?
Installed version: 4.5.4.

Use TinyMCE button to insert shortcode. No need to search for shortcodes. All are listed there.

I am using WPDM Pro. I have some attachments that have a corresponding video. The video does not need to be downloaded by the end user, but I would like for the user to be able to easily view it when they download the file.
I don’t have any trouble doing this when the Link Template takes the user to a Page Template to view and download. The embedded video in the “description” field works just fine.
However, my preferred method (in use for all other downloads) is to use the [popup_link] shortcode in my Link Template. So the information about the download pops up in a modal window which contains some details about the file, and a download link. This way, the user never leaves the page or gets confused about navigation.
My challenge is that the embedded video does not work in the modal window.
The modal seems to be “basic HTML” only, so I get links and minor formatting. But so far, all my attempts to embed video just display the link to the video as plain text. If I upload the video to the media library, I get basically a screenshot from the video in the modal…there is no way to play the video.
I would like the video to actually be embedded and play in the modal, so the user can watch it and also download the attached file at the same time, without leaving the page.
Do you know of a way to make that work?

— To download single file, you need to enable single file download from package settings and need to forward visitors to package details page. Please could you answer my other question: I cannot find where to change the individual file list download buttons. I have the image button plugin and that works for the package button on the link and on the page, but does not allow me to change the individual files download button.

Hi,
I am using different list formats for indicating downloads (http://silicon.software/know-how/downloads/, Tabs “Recent Downloads” and “Search Downloads”). One is generated by the short-code generator, using “wpdm_packages”, the other one with “wpdm-archive”. Both are using a paging (paging=”1″) at the bottom of the page.
Both short-codes are using a different paging style (icon and words for previous and next, size of fonts) and also have a different bahaviour, even they are following CSS modifications.Functionally the paging version of the “wpdm-archive” short-code is working correctly: the list with the next hits is displayed, a “loading” button appears for a short time.
The paging function in “wpdm_packages” is not working at all with me. The mouse-over displays a correct link (copied to new windows, the list is displayed correctly), but there is no execution of the link.If it is possible to use the working paging function from “wpdm-archive” in “wpdm_packages”, it would be helpful for me.
Maybe you have a work-around.Best regards,

Then it worked. I updated the plugin and it is not working anymore and you tell me it has something to do with the path? it worked before…
Filesize is now correct via bulk import.
What have you testet? We have a mix of relative path and external path.
External Links are working.
Local relative path not.

Yes, possible, pro version has easy to do extensive templating options ( Docs: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/ ). Now, to remove link and dots, please follow the steps:
- Clone the link template your are using for that package
- Replace
[page_link]tag with[title] - Remove
[excerpt_...]tag - Save the template
- Now use this link template for your packages.

In the free version only the download link was visible, and the title of the package was not clickable.
If you click on “download” the file starts to download immediately in the browser

Custom template or not, the download link actually will be generated from plugin and it will be shown as configured from package settings.
Topic: Form Lock Issue
This is a topic from the free version that I am moving here: When I add a package and select the “form lock” (using a form in contact form 7), it doesn’t show a download link or the form. If I disable, the download button appears and the file can be downloaded. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Please download and update plugin again, it will work fine with [download_link], please apply license key in download manager settings license tab, you can get the key from download page in our site.
If you want to disable full package download, you can remove/skip

I am having the same problem. After 4.5.4 update single file download button gives me link as described above and file downloaded is always called “download” and has 0 file size.
All other links for download are working fine, just this button not.
Is there a quick fix for this ?

Topic: All download links broken
Hi, I started getting messages yesterday that my downloads were not working. I saw that I needed to update my subscription, and I did so, deleting/reinstalling the plugin, but the links are all still broken. I’m using Download Manager Pro 4.5.4. I can send my specific website and pages, if needed. Please help!

I am a Softwaredeveloper, so be sure i know what i do. That’s the reason why i can’t understand why you are giving so confusing answers.
You need to edit that in wpdm-add-new-file-front.php, first copy the file to /{active theme dir}/download-manager/
is wrong, because just copying the file doesn’t work. If you haven’t copied the whole dir before.
I got this working by copy the
whole tplsdir totheme dir and rename it.So now i have many files and dirs in my /theme/download-amanger/ dir, including email-templates, link-templats, and so on.
when there is an update of the core plugin, how do i know wich of the original files, not in my theme dir, was modified?
The ability to clone the path in template dir, but just copy the files i modified would be much more userfriendly.
