Hi,
I had files displayed in basic table format. Then it disappeared after an upgrade or something. I just want to know how to display my files in download manager in a list on my page. I can’t find this simple instruction anywhere, other than just downloading and installing the plugin. I can’t see a button or option anywhere that would enable this.
I tried this shortcode [wpdm_all_packages items_per_page="20" categories="slug1,slug2,..." jstable=1 order_by="field_name" order="ASC/DESC" cols="title,file_count,download_count|categories|update_date|download_link" colheads="Title|Categories|Update Date|Download::155px"]
and I have a file list viewer displayed but no files. How do I make the files show? Note, I had this all viewing previously using Download Manager for a couple of years, but I don’t remember how I did it.

Well, I see
[wpdm_direct_link]shortcode does “the same” that what I’m doing with[download_url]or[download_link]in my link template. What I need is one link/button that open the file in the browser and other link/button downloading the file, as WordPress Guttenberg File block does.Thanks!

I would like to allow my users to have the possibility of both open a file in the browser or download it directly (in the same way as in the WordPress Guttenberg File block)
If I enable the
Open In Browserfrom settings option, both the[download_url]and the[download_link]open the file in the browser.I searched for this and found mentions of it in other threads but couldn’t find a resolution.

You can create a field name Email field in your gravity form. Then check the option in
Enable form lock > Email Download Link. Thus the download link will be sent through the given email address.Thanks.

When you are using a plugin like live forms, gravity form, contact form. please place a field like an email address, then when the user puts the email, the download link will be served to the user given email. Thus, he/she will be able to download.

My first post. So far loving this package, it seems to be able to do exacltly what I need.I do the website for a small car club http://www.sunbeamcarclubofnewzealand.org.nz
We want our members to be able to login to our WordPress site, and download (for example) newsletters or our constitution etc – files that are only available if you have a valid login.
We also have an Executive and I want to lock down some files e.g. meeting minutes so only they have access.
I have three issues that i can’t seem to resolve, no matter what i do or how much I search in your forums.1: I can’t change the way the files look.
I only want to upload files like docx,pdf,xlsx. But no matter what i do, when I’m logged in I simply get a page of file names – no pretty icons, no preview, no sizes, just something like this:Category: Member Documents

June 19 Exec meetingIf I go into each document and change the page template setting to something else, it makes no differnce. If I add a tag of say page-template-doc-preview it makes no difference. I get the same thing every time.
How do I change the way files are displayed?2: I have setup categories, with a main one called Member Documents and sub categories under that.
No matter what I do, I get the above result re display of files – no sub categories shown etc. I should be able to see each categoiry (eg exec minutes, newsletters) and then drill down to see the relevant files?
One of the screen dumps for the product I saw had a Windows Explorer interface look to it, so you can easily move through folders. I’d love to do this, but no idea how.
You can see above in (1) that all my files are simply showing under Member Documents.3: Permissions don’t seem to do anything.
I have applied permissions to (for example) the Exec Minutes category, and then saved a file in that category. But if I login as a Subscriber test account, I can still see the files – even though I haven’t given Subscriber any access to that category. This is possibly because I have one main category called Member Documents, and then have all other categories under that? This is the tidiest way to display a link on our menu, which is why I’ve done it this way. Surely that should work?
I’ve tried adding permissions to the category, and even teh file itself under ‘Allow Access’ but the Subscriber can always see all files.I’d appreciate it if I could get this working. It’s a great product that driving me a little crazy right now 🙂

FredIssue #1. A couple of weeks ago after updating to the version before the latest I started to get the message below only when on the back-end by clicking on the Dashboard>Home page. Please note that this does not happen when I go from the front-end to the back end by using the WP top bar clicking on the name of the site and then Dashboard. This always lands me in the Dashboard Home page loaded correctly. Interesting part is that I’ve uninstalled everything, from plugins to themes and I still get the same message. I’ve even tried reinstalling WordPress by using the reinstall button on the update page. Still the same message appears in the same link even with everything off.

Now after updating to latest the list of tickets by the plugin Awesome Support stopped displaying users tickets. I know that this is the plugin that caused the issue because when I disable it then the list of tickets appear for all clients.

Yes, For working download link you have to set download files in your server as it was saved before like
wp-content\uploads\download-manager-filesalso other option likeselect from serveroption. after all, you have to set as per link set.Thanks.
But when I insert [download_link] it only opens now b/c I changed that master setting that you said in Step 1 above. So how do I override that for a new button to download the file? I want to have both an ‘open’ button and a ‘download’ button next to each other! Thank you!

The custom template got corrupted during DB transfer, But we aged to restore it. To avoid the recurring issue I have created a template file
5e19a447ec45e.phpwith the custom link-template code and placed it in/active-theme/download-manager/link-templates/directory.This is another way of creating a link/page template. Instead of using template editor and database, we are saving the template code in the actual file.

We’d like to disable category archive pages. How can we go about this please?
We’ve gone through and ensured that these pages all have
nofollow noindex. And we’ve also ensured that the robots.txt is set appropriately.Basically don’t want any of the WPDM pages (category or packages or archives etc) indexed. We only want individual packages accessible if the visitor has the direct link to it. We definitely don’t want any form of archives (eg all-downloads archive) or category archives to exist or be indexed.
(We currently have the custom access level add-on installed)

Thank you! I got that figured out now! In my settings, I changed the default mode of download to Open, as you instructed above. And that is good for what I want in the Link template.
However, on the page template, I would like to provide BOTH, an open button and a download button. Except now, my buttons only open! How can I make a “download” button from scratch and put that into my page template?In reply to: Customize Download Page
